Puerto Viejo de Talamanca is a bit of an undiscovered beach town gem on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica.
We spent a day showing you around starting out with our great open air AirBNB in the middle of the jungle just outside of the town.
We then heading into town, walking along Black Beach (Playa Negra), flying our drone while we go. On our way into town we discover in old barge in the water, sunken to create a breakwater.
After walking along the water for awhile, we head into town to get some lunch and find a cute cafe/bookstore called Cafe Rico.
Afterwards we head back to the water where we spot a sunken sailing ship just off the shore.

Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica
Puerto Viejo de Talamanca is a town in southeast Costa Rica, on the Caribbean coast. It’s known for the Salsa Brava surf break and beaches like black-sand Playa Negra. Honestly, we could stay in Costa Rica, making the most of everyday for years and still not do it all! Since we sold and donated all of our things so that we could go on a full-time travel journey around the world, it was really difficult to part with Costa Rica and not just stay for good! Costa Rica definitely has won a piece of our hearts! Costa Rica is the perfect place for any type of vacation from wild adventure to ultimate luxury! Trips filled with flying high in the tree canopy on a zipline tour, freediving the clear blue seas, saving the turtles, going for a surf or just taking it easy relaxing in a luxurious bungalo, Costa Rica has it all! We spent the majority of our Costa Rica adventure in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. Everything from the diverse culture, to the delectable cuisine, to the variety of activities to indulge in while in this beautiful place, the vibrancy of Costa Rica seems completely endless and makes for a once in a lifetime trip!

Este video fue hecho con imágenes de varios momentos que he visitado la costa caribe de Costa Rica durante años. Mucha gente en Costa Rica no visita Limón porque tienen la incorrecta impresión de que es peligroso o poco atractivo, pero no saben lo mucho que se pierden de este hermoso lugar. Me hubiese gustado tener mucho más imágenes que muestran este precioso lugar ya que esto es apenas un vistazo, pero espero en un futuro realizar un merecido video de toda la costa caribeña de Costa Rica.
La mayoría de las imágenes fueron tomadas del centro de Limón, sin embargo hay algunas tomas de otros lugares de la costa caribeña como:
- Parque Nacional Cahuita.
- Playa Cocles
- Playa Manzanillo
- Playa Punta Uva
- Playa Bonita
This video was made from varios amounts of footage I have collected over the years from shorts periods of time I have visited the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica. Many people in Costa Rica don't visit this place much because they have the wrong impression that Limón is unsafe, but they don't know how much they are missing from this beautiful place. I wish I had much more footage to show from here since this is just a glimpse, but hopefully, someday I'll make a well deserved video of the entire Caribbean Coast.

Panama Canal Cruise - Day 7 Limon Costa Rica
We didn’t know exactly what to expect when we found out that our Caribbean Princess cruise was stopping in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica. We researched our tours carefully and settled on Your Lucky Tour. Eduardo, the owner, walked us through the process of finding the right experience for our party. We ultimately chose a tour to Cahuita National Park, with stops at the Tortugero Canal, a fruit stand, and a private home where we got to pet a baby sloth. This tour was appealing because it combined some of the common sights in Puerto Limon, with the off the beaten path trip to Cahuita. Cahuita was quintessential Costa Rica- jungle meets beach, wildlife, and warm locals. My Mom loved this day, and the personal service and great price made it super memorable.
