Hiking the Hoodoo Trail, Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park, Alberta, Canada
August 27/2019 Summer Hike
Today we are visiting Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park, in Southern Alberta. This became a Unesco World Heritage Site on July 6th 2019. We will be hiking the Hoodoo Trail. The trail is 3.5 kilometers out and back, with an elevation gain of 68 meters. Writing-on-Stone is a very special place. A wide green valley, with steep sandstone cliffs, and strange rock formations called hoodoos. For thousands of years, this unique environment has drawn First Nations people here. We know that some First Nations people camped here as long as 3500 years ago. Some of the rock art may not be this old, the date of its first appearance remains uncertain.
When visiting here, pick up a self guided brochure from the visitor centre, it opens at 930am. There is parking in the day use area, beside the campground. The trail starts on the South side of the playground. As you hike this trail, there are 12 points of interest with information on each in the brochure. As well, don't forget to see the Battle Scene location, which has Petroglyphs with over 250 characters. This is the most extensive rock art scene at Writing-on-Stone. I had no idea how beautiful this place is. If you are hiking this trail in the Summer, bring lots of water, and be on the lookout for rattlesnakes.

Abandoned Visitors Center - Birds Knob Trail 2017 - Virginia State Park
My first attempt to ride the Birds Knob trail loop. I ended up coming across a deserted visitors center off route 211. This spot has a neat access trail that is paved and has neat educational signs along the walking path. Too bad Virginia could not find the funding to keep this place alive. Make sure you donate to your local parks ladies and gents. Thanks for watching!!!

Elk Trail in Elk State Forest, PA- Live Action
The Elk Trail is a 16 mile linear trail in Elk State Forest, Elk County, PA. It is relatively flat with mostly open forest...we spotted two elk on the trail and several elk before and after, just off local roads. Benezette (the closest town) is infamous for being PA's Elk capital with a Visitor's Center nearby. The trail was hiked on July 25th, 2017 with hiking brothers John and Steve Snider.
Cycling the Valley Trail Whistler & Pigeon Incident - Calgary to Vancouver Road Trip
Day 9
Our first full day in Whistler was a little stormy but didn’t stop us exploring the great outdoors. We spent the day cycling the valley trail, which was very scenic - favourite spot was Green Lake :) also nearly got hit by a dead pigeon falling from the sky……just your standard day out really?!

The Rocky Mountain Legacy Trail | Canmore to Banff
The Rocky Mountain Legacy Trail is a scenic 22 km paved trail that connects Canmore and Banff. The trail begins across from the Travel Alberta Visitor Information Centre on Bow Valley Trail.
This video shows only a very SMALL part of the hike, but the entire trip is spectacular. The water is so clear and the views are out of this world.
The Trail is popular with cyclists and hikers and has several incredible viewpoints along the way.
Mount Robson Berg Lake Hiking Trail British Columbia Canada By Nomad Honda
Mount Robson is a mountain in British Columbia along the border of Alberta. It is located in the out skirts of Jasper National Park on the North West Corner of Jasper National Park. It is also known is Mount Robson Provincial Park.
One of the most visited places along the Trans Canada Jasper/Banff National Park highway. It is as visitor centre with Free WiFi access to those who need to keep in touch with family and loved far away from where they are. This area is filled with many provincial and private camping grounds. Best for RV, Van and Tenting. Whatever you may want for your trip is available here.
The views and Trails and Hiking Paths. What can I say? They are breath taking. They are priceless. They are Unique. They are all that you really ever wanted on a road trip. The Parking Staff are very friendly and the area is beautiful. If you are not the tent camping style or van life or RV type then there are Resorts Nearby with beautiful rooms and villas to rent from.
I on the other have a smaller pocket so I cannot afford to be living in an expensive villa so tenting and van life camping is the best thing for me. I am a simple guy with a simple life. Whether you like canoeing or kayaking or skiing or just mountain top hiking, then this is the place for you.
To really know this place you need weeks and weeks to really explore this terrain but if you have only 3 to 6 days then you can explore everything here. Kenney Lake Trail, Berg Lake Trail and Mount Robson Trail and the many other trails are just breath taking and words cannot describe it.
There is a saying: First travelling makes you speechless and At the end you become the story teller.
Hidden Lake Trail 4K | Glacier National Park
#protectglacier #glaciernationalpark #nationalparksguide #homeinwildspaces
The trail to Hidden Lake, beginning next to the Logan Pass Visitor Center is one of the most popular trails in Glacier National Park, and it's easy to see why. The scenery is spectacular, and as backcountry lakes in Glacier go, Hidden Lake is among the easier destinations to reach.
The board walk portion is accessible to just about everyone, though wheelchairs will be limited by a few sets of stairs. But even with those restrictions, there's plenty to see. Bighorn sheep and mountain goats, as seen in the video, are plentiful in the area and if not visible grazing the sprawling alpine tundra can frequently be seen on the rocky peaks.
Grizzly bears frequent the area. Travel with your bear spray readily accessible, travel in groups and clap or call out when visibility is limited. Keep your distance from all wildlife. Stay safe, do not approach or feed any animal and go out of your way to limit your impact on the landscape.
Be forewarned, parking at Logan Pass can be a challenge. During the summer months, the visitor center parking lot fills by 8:30am. Get an early start if you want to beat the competition.
Trailhead: Logan Pass Visitor Center
Difficulty: Moderate
Distance: Lookout - 3 miles (out & back), Lake - 5 Miles (out & back)
Elevation gain: 550 feet (Lookout), 1400 feet (Lake)

Berg Lake Trail, Mt Robson, BC, Canada in 4K (Ultra HD)
Berg Lake Trail is frequently quoted as one of the finest trails in the Canadian Rockies and in North America.
The trail to Robson Pass is 46 km / 28 mi round trip. We had to add to this the Mumm Basin-Hargreaves Glacier trail, which provides stunning views to Berg Lake and Berg Glacier, some 2000 m / 6,560 ft under Mt Robson summit.
Amazing hike, my only dissatisfaction was with the air - not clear that day because of distan fires in the Rockies (quite visible in the far away shots of Mt Robson).
Main locations, as shown in the video (first appearance, if many): Mt Robson (0:05), Robson River (0:25), Kinney Lake (0:39), Valley of a Thousand Falls (0:48), Falls of the Pool (1:52), Emperor Falls (2:19), Mist Glacier (2:39), Berg Lake (2:55), Berg Glacier (3:08) Views from Mumm Basin trail (4:03), Robson Glacier (4:10 on the left), Hargreaves Glacier and Lake (5:17), Mt Robson from the Visitors Center (5:50).
Recorded July 2015 in 4K (Ultra HD) with Sony AX100. Edited with Adobe Premiere Pro CC.

Running the Wonderland Trail Around Mt. Rainier Unsupported
The Wonderland Trail is a 150 km route that circumnavigates Mt. Rainier, with our 7,230 metres of elevation gain. It's normally done as a 10 day hike, but many will run it over 3 days with support from crew.
On Sept. 20th, 2014 my friend Adam and I ran it unsupported, carrying our own food, cooking and lightweight camping gear, with a goal of finishing it in under 40 hours. Read the full report:
