Trefethen Family Vineyards
A visit to the winery while driving the new 2013 Toyota Avalon.
Trefethen Family Vineyards produces a diverse range of award-winning varietal, blended and reserve wines -- all from our Napa Valley estate -- exhibiting the classic hallmarks of fine wine quality: richness with elegance, concentration with finesse, complexity with harmony, and sophistication with approachability. Reflecting both the relatively cool climate of our Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley estate vineyard and the Trefethen family's preference for balanced wines, this classic style dovetails perfectly with the growing movement of connoisseurs in the United States away from wines of unbridled alcohol and ripeness toward wines of greater finesse and food-friendliness.

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon in Coombsville | Sciandri Family Vineyards
888 282-1353
Very excited to reintroduce Sciandri Family Vineyards in Napa Valley’s Coombsville AVA. Bringing 200 years of passion for food and wine from Italy to the United States. Sciandri’s first vintage was back in 2006, single varietal Cabernet Sauvignon from their single vineyard estate. After years of growth, they now offer a blend, a rosé, estate Meritage and a Sauvignon Blanc.
All the wines are small batch, hand harvested, hand made. The artisan way. Before they decided to produce their own wines, they tasted wines made by Don Baker at a local festival, fell in love, and asked him to join their team. Don has been making wine with Sciandri Family from the beginning.
As grape growers in the late 90s, Cabernet was the only varietal grown. After getting bit by the unofficial wine bug, the family planted the other Bordeaux varietals on their estate. Three generations of family are involved in growing and producing wine.
Rebecca Sciandri says, “If you only serve good food so you can drink good wine, then you should only drink good wine so you can eat good food.”

Silverado Vineyards - Stags Leap, Napa Valley
In the heart of Napa Valley's Stags Leap District sits a rocky peak with a spectacular Mediterranean-style stone winery perched on top. That winery is the iconic Silverado Vineyards, named after the abandoned mining town at the north end of the Napa Valley. Silverado Vineyards is best known for its Cabernet Sauvignon, but Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and small batches of Zinfandel and Sangiovese are also grown on their six estate vineyards. Robert Mondavi Winery - Oakville, California
Robert Mondavi Winery was founded in 1966 by Robert Mondavi (June 18, 1913 -- May 16, 2008) and his sons Michael and Tim Mondavi in the Napa Valley. It was the first major winery built in Napa Valley in the post-Prohibition era. He went on to become THE most influential innovator in California winemaking history. On December 22, 2004, Constellation Brands acquired the Mondavi winery and yet they continue to further Robert Mondavi's legacy. 6.0 Northern California Earthquake Napa Valley Wine Country American Canyon Fault
NAPA, Calif. (AP) — The largest earthquake to hit the San Francisco Bay Area in 25 years sent scores of people to hospitals, ignited fires, damaged multiple historic buildings and knocked out power to tens of thousands in California's wine country on Sunday.
The 6.0-magnitude earthquake that struck at 3:20 a.m. about 6 miles from the city of Napa ruptured water mains and gas lines, left two adults and a child critically injured, upended bottles and casks at some of Napa Valley's famed wineries and sent residents running out of their homes in the darkness.
The depth of the earthquake was just less than 7 miles, and numerous small aftershocks have occurred, the USGS said.
A quake of that size in a populated area is of course widely felt throughout that region, said Randy Baldwin, a geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey in Golden, Colorado.

Bottle Shock Movie info:
If you haven't seen or heard of the movie Bottle Shock just released to DVD you may want to pick up a copy and visit this winery. The movie Bottle Shock for the most part is about how Chateau Montelena helped put Napa on the map by being one of the winners of an international wine competition in 1976. Although the majority of the movie was actually filmed in Sonoma County (a lot of it at Kunde Estate Winery) you will definitley recognize the building from the movie and the Chateau Montelena wine labels. This winery has a wonderful private lake with an oriental themed tea garden setting complete with a beautiful white swan. Stop in for a taste of their award winning Chardonnay.
I shot this video while my clients were enjoying their wine tasting at the winery. I'm a limousine driver / tour guide for Private Limousine Service and my own service Winecountrydriver.com
