Mountain Gorilla Trekking in RWANDA!!! ???????? ????❤️ TRAVEL VLOG
Meeting the Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda blew my mind! I was paired up with 2 different gorilla families on my treks through the Volcanoes National Park. One of the families was the original family that Diane Fossey studied back in the day! I couldn't believe how close we got. It felt as if they let me right into their world. The gorillas are gorgeous creatures! I hope you love them even more after watching my video.
Every time people visit the Gorillas in Rwanda, money goes towards the conservation of them. The whole process is to raise awareness to protect these amazing animals. There is so much love and respect that the guides and government put into protecting the gorillas. Bc of the efforts, mountain Gorilla numbers are on the rise.
Thanks for watching!!!! I appreciate you taking a look. Lots of Love, Vicki????

GoodwinSZN Travel: Gorilla Trekking In Rwanda Part II
Hey GoodwinSZN, are you guys ready to see the gorillas? [Warning: Explicit language.] Watch us as we trek the Amahoro group of gorillas. Amahoro means peace in the Kinyarwanda language. This particular group of gorillas was discovered after the genocide. We were so fortunate to visit this particular group. The Amahoro group consists of three silverback gorillas, some female gorillas, some teenage gorillas, and some baby gorillas. Silverbacks are ranked by dominance. In our video you will see us number the silverbacks to let you know their order. The #1 silverback is given mating rights to all the female gorillas. Silverback #2 and #3 are not allow to mate with the females, but occasionally they sneak off and mate with the females. Would you ever trek gorillas? What's your favorite part of our trip so far? Welcome to Kigali, Rwanda! Kigali is an amazing city, so clean and organized, and it was a joy to have a chance to walk around, eat, and explore the city. In this video, along with the help of Georgie and Makeda, we’re taking you on an amazing Rwandan food tour of Kigali!
La Gardienne Supermarket - We started off at La Gardienne Supermarket, a small supermarket known for preparing some of the best samosas in all of Kigali. They were delicious, especially the meat samosa. Samosas are very common throughout East Africa because of the Indian and Arabian influence.
Green Corner - Next we went to a restaurant in Kigali called Green Corner, this is one of my favorite restaurants in Kigali. They specialized in grilled meats, especially grilled fish - giant freshwater tilapia. The fish was the highlight of the meal, but the grilled chicken was also pretty amazing. A great restaurant to eat Rwandan food.
Total price - 50,000 RWF ($57.10)
Piano Bar - Next we went to a local restaurant called Piano Bar, not far from Green Corner, to eat one main dish: Akabenz - A Rwandan food known to be the Mercedes Benz of meat! It’s a Rwandan pork dish, fried with onions and served with chili. It’s pretty amazing, and if you enjoy pork, you don’t want to miss it when you’re in Kigali, Rwanda.
Total price - 10,700 RWF ($12.22)
Resto Bamako - Next we went to a restaurant serving Malian food, but also Rwandan food. Their pilau rice and especially their isombe (cassava leaves) were fantastic.
Total price - 4,000 RWF ($4.57)
Chap Chap Food - One of the last food stops was Chap Chap Bar, a small Rwandan local fast food restaurant serving all sorts of snacks. We enjoyed a Rolex, which is actually a Ugandan chapati topped with an egg.
Total price - 4,500 RWF ($5.14)
Ikivuguto - Finally to end the main part of this Rwandan food tour, we couldn't not stop at a milk bar. We had a beverage called Ikivuguto, a fermented milk drink, kind of like thin yoghurt.
Chez Lando - Although it was the next day, I couldn’t have a Rwandan food tour without trying some brochettes, which is one of the national foods of Rwanda.
Total price - 5,100 RWF ($5.82)
Again, huge thank you to Georgie and Makeda for taking me around!

A good mid budget hotel with large rooms. A few service issues partly due to staying in low season.

Visit Rwanda: Bisoke Volcano Hike.
Saturday 12, 2019, My Friends and I got an opportunity for hiking and discover more about Mountain Bisoke.
Mountain Bisoke is a dormant Volcano rising at 3711 meters above sea level with a spectacular crater lake at the top and it is one of the series of volcanoes that make up the Virunga Mountain Range which sprawls along the borders of Rwanda, Uganda & the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Mountain Bisoke straddles the border of Rwanda & the Democratic Republic of Congo, but the biggest part, including the peak and two stunning crater lakes, lies on Rwanda’s side, in Volcanoes National Park and this adventure is one of the most memorable activities in Rwanda.
It is simply a 6 – hours hike including the 2 hours descending down to the starting point. Experienced hikers can get to the top of this mountain in a matter of 3 hours or even less and return to the base in about an hour.
Along the trail you come by dung of Forest Elephants, Buffaloes and Gorillas.
Subscribe to my YouTube Channel and Explore together the beauty of the country of Thousand Hills (Rwanda).
Thank you for watching.

2 Weeks in Uganda, Rwanda and the DRC
I spent two weeks in July on a trip to Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), and Rwanda on a small group Africa tour with Rock My Adventure.
Read about the whole trip here:
In Rwanda we spent a couple of days exploring Kigali.
In the DRC we climbed Mount Nyiragongo volcano, home to the world's largest lava lake. The Mt Nyiragongo hike was tough, but so worth it for the views! Read about it here:
In Uganda we went gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which I've written more about here:
We then went on safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park, before heading to Hairy Lemon Island on the Nile River. We finished the trip in Bujagali, staying at Nile River Explorers, where some of us went white water rafting and SUP on the Nile.

Gorilla Trekking in Kinigi Rwanda HD | Jordan Laessig
Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda was one of the most amazing things I have ever been apart of. Leaving Kigali to Kinigi meant waking up and leaving at 4:00am to drive 3 hours to Kinigi where I would join a group and guide and start our Trek at the crack of dawn to find the Gorillas. Each of the Gorilla families have an assigned guard who track them daily and protect them from poachers. Right now Rwanda if only one of two places on the globe where Gorilla Treks are possible so the rarity of seeing them was something spectacular. Our guide Francior was one of the funniest most knowledgable guides. He had been tracking the gorillas for almost 30 years and was not above beating his chest, eating bamboo, and speaking gorilla just to show us what we would be experiencing. Francior started by teaching us how to speak gorilla which at first seemed a bit unnecessary, until I found out later while being charged by the BIG MAMA how thankful I was that our guide could speak to her and calm her down. I would absolutely love to go back to Rwanda and see them over and over again, the overwhelming since of awe seeing the most powerful land mammal in front of me grazing in such a beautiful country was astounding.
Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda
An iPhone video of my exhilarating, up-close encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas of Rwanda. Check out my blog post for photos, tips on how to prepare for the gorilla trek and to find out why I chose to do it in Rwanda instead of Uganda:

TREKKING WITH RWANDA MOUNTAIN GORILLAS
One of the top things I have ever done in my life, trekking with mountain gorillas in Rwanda. It's expensive but if you can afford it, so well worth it. I bought two days and this is the result of my two one hour encounters with these highly conscious gentle vegetarians.
