Trout Run Trail 2011
The new bike/hike trail in Decorah, Iowa is nearing completion. This is a short look over the handlebars as the rider zooms along this super cool trail. This 12-mile loop is a gorgeous ride, passing along and over a trout stream, through hilly farmland, along the Upper Iowa River and skirting the edge of the city. It passes by the famous Decorah eagles nest of internet fame and past the State Fish Hatchery where feed can be bought to throw to the pens of young trout.

Bike Riding Weekend on the Trout Run Trail and Elroy-Sparta Trail.
This video captures the fun of bike riding and camping as my daughter and I rode the Trout Run Trail in Decorah, Iowa. Then we traveled to the Elroy-Sparta Trail in Wisconsin. This trail is on the former Chicago & Northwestern Railroad right of way and has three large tunnels. Unfortunately, due to spring/summer rains parts of the trail were closed due to storm damage. We had a great time bike riding close to 90 miles in three days and seeing some beautiful scenery along the way.

UPLANDS TRAIL AND TROUT RUN TRAIL DOWN HILL - SME - RAW FOOTAGE - MY MEAGER SKILLS - 039
Raw footage in the sense that it contains the whole ride with out cutting any parts out. It's obviously edited to cut between the two camera angles.
A mellow fun run down the north loop of the Uplands (Blue Trail) down the Trout Run Trail (Red Trail) over the rock covered stream. More or less proof that I can clear the stream and all it's rocky glory.

Late Winter Trout Fishing | Allamakee County, Iowa
Got out of my element and went wading through a stream to catch trout! It was a blast and I had an opportunity to fish in such a beautiful place.
A friend of mine (Ryan) invited me to hit the streams in Eastern Iowa, it sure was nice to fish in open water for a change and a good way to get tuned up for the upcoming bass season.

Decorah IA Upper Iowa River kayaking Dunning Springs
What a beautiful part of Iowa. Dunning Springs in Decorah IA is truly a hidden gem. Ice cold spring water cascades down from within the hillside in spectacular fashion. You can take the stairs up to the top or do like we did and take a very short hike up. The hike is worth it if you're able.
We then spent the day kayaking down the Upper Iowa River. The section we chose was from just above Chimney Rock. Very calm river with excellent views of the bluffs. The river was down a little so you definitely need to know how to read the river to avoid bottoming out.
