Upper Kananaskis Lake Hike | Journey Alberta
Today I head out for a solo hike at the Upper Kananaskis Lake! My goal to go to the Point Backcountry Campground along the lake. Also, it happens to be the last day of winter, and my birthday when I made this video! It was great to get out on my own for a change and do some reflecting along the way. It was a really hot day out as well, with the temperature reaching +14 degrees Celsius!

Upper Kananaskis Lake, Full Loop Hike. This hike showcases the Beauty of Kananaskis Country.
May 9/ 2019
Today we are back in Kananaskis Country, Alberta. We will be hiking around Upper Kananaskis Lake. The full loop trail is 15.3 kilometers with an elevation gain of 453 meters. We will be hiking around the lake counter clockwise. This hike showcases everything that K Country has to offer. Lake views, mountain views, waterfalls, a boulder field, a backcountry campground, and much more. I wouldn’t recommend this hike in the Spring, as there still was quite a bit of snow on the South side of the lake. However this would be a spectacular hike in the Summer.
This is my 37th video. Thank you very much for watching. If you enjoyed this video please give it a thumbs up. If you would like to see my other videos, Subscribe to my channel. New videos weekly. CHEERS

Canmore, Alberta MUST-SEES | Ha-Ling Peak | Grassi Lakes
My video from a recent trip to Canmore where my friend Tofunmi & I hit up 2 of the most common hikes to do in Canmore. Watch the video to see our adventures (and foodie picks) along the way, as well as some clips of the views you can expect!
Hike #1: Grassi Lakes
This is an easy- moderate hike that took us about 30-45min one way, and that included stopping to take photos and videos. This trail is well paved out and very easy to take kids or dogs on. This is also a common place for rock climbing if you're into that!!
Check out more on the Tourism Canmore website:
Hike #2: Ha-Ling Peak
This hike was more moderate to difficult, and took us about 2.5 hours to get up and about 1.5 hours on the way down. This hike was done in May and there was still a significant amount of snow/ slush/ mud but the conditions should be significantly better now (July/ August).
Check out more on the Tourism Canmore website:
Also check out some of the other places we stopped at:

A short walk along Upper Kananaskis Lake
On Canada Day we decided to take a break and enjoy some of our beautiful Alberta landscape. Neither of us has been hiking for a few years so we picked an easy trail, the Upper Kananaskis Lake loop.
The trail surprised us with the incredible views and a couple of waterfalls. We also decided to try and locate a couple of geocaches along the hike.

Spring at the Upper Kananaskis Lake, Peter Lougheed Provincial Park (4K) | Journey Alberta
I travel out to the Upper Kananaskis Lake located in the Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. There my sister and I roasted some hot dogs and perogies over a fire I started with my flint and steel. After that we walked down the still frozen lake shore, and threw rocks across the ice. After we were done at the day use spot, we stopped at the inter-lakes parking lot and hiked part of the trail to the Point Backcountry Campground.

Upper Kananaskis Lake Trail
Boyfriend, Myah and Myself hiked this 16 kilometre trail for nearly 4 hours. I am lucky that I don't need to bring anything as my partner got it covered. He packed a dozen of bottled water and 3 packs of Pork Rinds and the almighty weights in his hiking backpack Haha.. My legs were sore right after the hike and I did not even carry anything, I just can't believe he managed it all through out the hike and was even telling me it's still light. Anyway, we had a great time and enjoyed the hike so much.
Kananaskis Peter Lougheed Provincial Park Camping (4K) | Journey Alberta
Today I go camping for a night in the Peter Lougheed Provincial Park section of Kananaskis Country! I camp with my Mom and her boyfriend Ken at the Boulton Creek Campground at site D-120/D-121. On our first day it rained a lot so we spent some time at the visitor center in the park, exploring the building. When the rain stopped, we headed to the North Interlakes Day Use area to do a short hike by the shore of the Upper Kananaskis Lake. Our second day takes us to the Elbow Sheep Wildland where we do the hike to the Rae Glacier! It takes us past the backcountry campground at Elbow Lake, and then up towards the glacier for an amazing hike.

Grassi Lakes Hike in Canmore | Journey Alberta
I do the Grassi Lakes Hike in Canmore, Kananaskis, with my friend Jesse! The hike is approximately 4 kilometers round trip with only a couple hundred meters of elevation gain. After a couple hundred meters the trail splits off into an easy section or a more difficult section. We opt to do the more difficult section on the way up so we can see the waterfalls and the great views of the Bow Valley and Canmore. Although it did snow on this day it was still a great hike up to see the turquoise coloured lakes!

Hiking Rawson Lake / Sarrail Ridge | Upper Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada
In this video we are hiking to Rawson Lake and a little further up the hill to Sarrail Ridge. This is a great trip into the Kananaskis mountains with an amazing pay off at the top. The hike from Rawson Lake to Sarrail Ridge is quite steep and challenging, but once you're there you are rewarded with a breathtaking view of upper Kananaskis Lake. You can take advantage of this incredible hike in a 1 hour, 40 minute drive from Calgary.
This video was filmed with a Samsung Galaxy S9 and a cell phone gimbal.
