Gold Fossicking at Uralla NSW New England region
Did a bit of a North East NSW lap over the Christmas break and as I had never stopped at the Uralla designated fossicking area I scheduled a couple of hours in. On the drive in I was a little sceptical as I know the creeks in this area well enough that there is a LOT of sand. This creek was no different but I had a hunt around and there was a section of granite boulders amongst which I managed to find a fallen tree with a super fine root mat. This produced some good colour so I cut some of the mass out and washed it through a sieve and then let the blue bowl do the rest.
I bought my blue bowl from Crampo's Prospecting and Detecting Supplies. Crampo is very competitive with US pricing plus I was able to get a physical demonstration on how the blue bowl works and how to set it up.
And of course, visit Uralla Visitor Information Centre for a VERY impressive mineral collection and information on how to find the Fossicking Area. The information centre also hires out gold pans so you can have a go yourself.

The custom designed 4 bedroom homestead was formally completed in 2006, and was erected specifically to encompass the almost uninterrupted 360 degree views whilst still offering excellent solar passive qualities and natural sunlight benefits. Stunning features throughout the home include a custom built timber kitchen with Meile appliances, full second story master suite with open plan Ensuite, home office and elevated deck, multiple living and entertaining spaces, 9ft ceilings with ornate cornice, cedar doors, pure wool carpets and much more.
The 358 acres have been subdivided into 9 main grazing paddocks plus the house yard, machinery area and two berry patches (equalling 10 acres). Pasture history includes clover, rye grass and oats in some paddocks with a substantial bio dynamic fertiliser history over the whole property. Fencing is immaculate throughout, with almost every fence having been replaced in the past 15 years. Formed access roads weave through all paddocks and are complimented by a grid at the entrance to every paddock bar one.
Water is considered very good with 11 dams across the property plus a fully operational Solar powered bore. Each dam comes with significant key lining (contour banks) for improved catchment.
Infrastructure is extensive with a huge 4 bay machinery shed, a second workshop shed with an integrated and fully functioning 2 bedroom granny flat, elevated shearing shed and full steel cattle yards with covered crush and loading ramp.
'Windee' is a true once in a lifetime property.

Tenterfield WW2 Tank Traps & Captain Thunderbolts Hideout
Explore and experience history in Tenterfield NSW Australia. The World War 2 Tank Traps at Tenterfield were a part of the claimed Brisbane Line which was supposedly been a line of last defence in Australia for the invasion by the Japanese. Tank Traps were to slow down tanks and expose their soft underbelly for attack.
Captain Thunderbolts Hideout is a maze of natural rock formations that allowed for the famous bushranger to hide with his horses and keep lookout to escape capture by the authorities in the 1800's.
Its easy to see that the Aboriginal people would have used the space for 1000's of years too.
Tenterfield has so much history with both these places within 1km of each other and only about 10 minutes drive from the centre of Tenterfield.

Dumaresq Dam is situated 6km past the University of New England in Armidale NSW. Dumaresq Dam was built in 1898 and was Armidale's water supply until 1968.
It is now set aside as a recreational reserve. A peaceful and relaxing place for fishing, bird watching, canoeing and there is a 2.5km walking track through eucalypt woodland around the dam.
The woodland contains plenty of birds, kangaroos, cockatoos and the occasional water rat, which you might see swimming along the water edge.
The reserve also has toilets, picnic shelter, gas and wood-fire BBQ, and a small playground area.

Kus TV, Native Dog Creek Gold Trip, Gold Panning N.S.W
Welcome back to Kus TV - Native Dog Creek Gold Trip
I love Gold panning N.S.W Australia as we have some great alluvial gold and even better bush to explore here.
A mate and I went on a gold prospecting trip out to a new area called Native Dog Creek in Essington State Forest in N.S.W.
Thanks to Adventure Gold for the info on the area, go check out his channel, he knows what he's doing (
We set out on Saturday morning at 5am from Sydney and headed out over the mountains to Oberon, we turned left and drove another 20kms south to Essington State Forest arriving at 8am.
We made our way down to the the creek and came across a small sand bar formed behind a tree and started to test pan the area with some nice results in the first pans, so we decided to set up there and working the area.
We stayed at the spot for a few hours before we decided to do some location scouting. We crossed the river and found some nice bedrock and crevices and found some more gold. We finished up at the second spot and headed back to the original spot as it was a good location for the camp.
A few beers and a clean up of the alluvial gold from day one, all in all day one at Native Dog Creek was a great day panning with some nice gold found.
Subscribe to my channel as day 2 is coming up soon.
Cheers guys and happy diggings.
