Cappadocia Red Tour (P2,015 or 35 Euros)
1. Uchisar Castle - It is constructed on the highest point of the region. It has a totally dictinct castle form, including graves, tunnels and churches, that you cannot come across at any other place in the world.
2. Goreme Open Air Museum - Open Air Museum especially important to understand the influence of the religion, especially of Christianity, on the region. For good reasons it is the most famous attraction, a complex of several painted cave-churches carved out by Orthodox monks between 900 and 1200 AD.
3. Çavusin old village - An old Greek village will be next place in the tour. Çavusin is a village about 4 kilometers from Göreme .The old village is largely deserted because the area has been plagued by rock falls. At Çavusin you can visit the Church of John the Baptist which probably dates from the 5th century with paintings from the 6th, 7th and 8th.
4. Pasabagi - The best place to see three-headed fairy chimneys. Pasabag, the Pasha's Vineyard, is surrounded by incredible natural rock formations; a spectacular scene.
LUNCH
5. Pottery art gallery - Since Hittites 2000 BC people could get the red clays (terra rosa) around Kızılırmak river which is the longest river of Turkey, and white clays ( caulin) from volcanic hills .They could use the clays for their daily lifes by shaping the clay by their hand on the spinning wheels.
6. Devrent Valley - The ruins at Devrent are spread over three valleys, which also house several pointed fairy chimneys with large stems.
7. Ürgup Fairy Chimneys - The fairy chimneys with caps, mainly found in the vicinity of Ürgüp, have a conical-shaped body and a boulder on top of it. The cone is constructed from tufa and volcanic ash, while the cap is of a harder, more resistant rock such as lahar or ignimbrite. The fairy chimneys which are symbols of Ürgüp are called holly spirit chimneys. There is mother, father and son fairy chimneys stay together.

ürgüp
Ürgüp is one of the important centers in this region that called Cappadocia. It is a district in the east of Nevşehir Province, in the Central Anatolia Region, in the middle of Turkey. It’s 20 km far from Nevşehir and it takes only 20-30 minutes by car or bus from Ürgüp to Nevşehir. According to 2013 census, the population is 20,061 in the centre of Ürgüp and total 35,028 with neighbourhood villages.
This town is famous with history, geological formations, architectural structures, tourism, meals, people, sightseeing, activities, and even the nightlife.
Urgup 3 guzeller peribacalari
Urgup The Three Beauties
A severe inland climate dominates in Ürgüp as the whole area, Cappadocia. The weather is too hot and dry in the summer. The temperature level in summer changes in between 25-30 C. However, in the winter the weather is too cold; the temperature level decreases and it gets about 0-10 C. But mostly, tourists prefer to visit this city for their summer holiday.
Ürgüp has got a big history. The history development of Ürgüp is based on 1800-1200 BC, from the Hittite period the Phrygian, Persian, Roman and Byzantine periods onto the Seljukid and Ottoman Empires. Ürgüp was called “Katpatuka” by the Persians which means “The land of beautiful horses” and it can be traced in historical monuments that beautiful horses were bred in this area since Hittites. Moreover according to Boğazköy State Archive, there is a historical monument which was written by a young horse breeding expert called Kikkuli who came from the Kingdom of Mitanni.
You can see fairy chimneys, the rock formations, valleys, old historical house and architectural structures when you travel in the center of Ürgüp and around Ürgüp. We can say that it’s a wonder of nature. Furthermore, you can watch these natural beauties as bird’s eye view. You can ask “how do we?” It’s easy, by balloon. You can join the hot air balloon flights and see all of the natural formations from the sky for about an hour. You can join jeep safaris to see these beauties from the land as well. You can also join fullmoon hiking tours through the valleys to see these formations in the moonlight at nights.
For staying there are too many hotels; cave hotels, cave boutique hotels and hostels in Ürgüp. You can choose according to your budget.
For having breakfast, lunch or dinner out of your hotel, there are many good restaurants which cook traditional delicacies like village breakfast, Testi Kebabı (pottery kebab) and stone oven meals and breads.
urgup temenni
ürgüp temenni sight
The nights in Ürgüp are lively till the morning. Fun never finishes at nights. You can go to pub or disco at nights in Ürgüp.
Lastly we can say Temenni, Kayakapı, old mosques, Six Gates Tombs, Red Valley (Kızılvadi), The Three Beauties are the most important places to see in Ürgüp. Besides, Ürgüp is close to Ortahisar and Mustafapaşa towns which have got a lot of churches and other natural formations. And they are only 5-6 km. far away from Ürgüp.
If you come and travel Ürgüp, we suggest you to visit all these sights.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

David scratches another one off of his bucket list with this epic trip
through the region of Cappadocia. Watch as we show you the top things to see and do in Cappadocia.
First stop is the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Goreme Open Air Museum. This area supported a large Christian community for several centuries. By the 4th century, Saint Basel had founded various religious settlements in the area. The Göreme Open Air Museum is a testament to St. Basil’s influence – it is a place where daily worship was carried out in seclusion.
Then onto some arts and crafts. Turkey is known for its intricate hand woven rugs (Kilim), and Cappadocia is a great place to see them being made and also to purchase them if you are interested. David toured Gallery Cappadocia and spoke with the manager about why people should come see the rugs being made. Also, the selection here is amazing! Shopping for rugs in Istanbul can be a headache if you don’t speak the language, which is why many tourists instead prefer to shop for them in Cappadocia where there are less crowds.
David then heads to the town of Avanos to visit the Firca pottery workshop. There, the artists are working meticulously to freehand patterns and calligraphy. Visitors will get a demonstration on how the pottery is formed and will get the chance to browse an extensive inventory of remarkable quality.
We can then see the cluster of fairy chimneys in Cavusin Village, during which David gives us an explanation of how these unusual rock formations are formed. Basically, wind erosion leave each rocky mound with a “hat.”
The Kaymakli Underground City (UNESCO) is another great example of the wonder Cappadocia holds. During the Roman Era, Christian communities used them to hide from religious persecution. There are several underground cities in Cappadocia, many of which are interconnected with tunnels. Kaymakli is several layers deep, with long passages, narrow steps, and a complex tunnel system connecting the rooms. Definitely one of the top things to see and do in Cappadocia!
Back outside David tours the Valley of the Monks in the village of Pasabag. Pasabag valley contains some of the most striking fairy chimneys in Cappadocia. After the hike, David strolls the town of Mustafapasa.
A tour of the Saruhan was an interesting experience, especially since the building was used as an inn for traders traveling along the Silk Road. David continues his journey into the Zelve Valley, the village of Urgup to see some of Cappadocia’s most famous fairy chimneys, and up to the top of the castle of Uchisar to get fantastic panoramic views.
Finally, David shows us the number 1 thing to do in Cappadocia… take a hot air balloon ride! This is the best way to experience Cappadocia from above and appreciate the distinct rock formations unlike anywhere else on earth.
If you’re planning on heading to Cappadocia, we highly recommend Euphrates Tours. They helped us explore this fascinating region and do everything you watched in this video.

Fabulous Cappadocia, Turkey - My journey with Rochelie and Stefano #2
This is my second amateur video about my trip to Cappadocia, Turkey. We were able to explore some places there: Uchisar, Urgup, Passabag Valley, Avanos, and of course the main place Goreme. One thing you must try when traveling to Cappadocia is raiding a hot air balloon. Doing this might be expensive, but it's definitely worth to try, or once in a lifetime experience for me. We love Cappadocia and Turkey is always amazing.
I hope you enjoy watching this video and give a comment on how to improve my skills in the future.
