Valle de Guadalupe, Wine country, Ensenada, Mexico
Here is a short clip of our visit to the 'Valle de Guadalupe', Mexico's wine country this year. We toured thru La Ruta del Vino, about 40 minutes away from downtown Ensenada and 70 miles from the San Diego border.
There are over 100 wineries in Valle de Guadalupe. Our favorite wineries were Las Nubes and El Corcho Rosa/Valley Girl wines', their wines were superb! A must visit when in Baja California. If you want to learn more about Ensenada, check out the entire video Seeking Paradise in Ensenada on

First time in Mexico || WINE & TEQUILA TOUR ENSENADA
For my first time in Ensenada Mexico we talk a wild Wine, Beer and tequila Atv tour through the streets, mountains and dirt roads of Ensenada. We took a carnival cruise to Mexico (not a fan of the cruise) but the best part of the trip was being in Ensenada Mexico not the cruise. We did the Santos tomas winery with Syrah rose wine , next we did a test taste some beer with a local brewery El Laurel that also is a winery and has its whole airbnb. the complete a sparkinheart challenge and move on to the next place. After that we get some tacos at Taqueria la Mexico and head to Dona Engracia where I enjoy the best tasting tequila i ever had i my life. with lots of good flavors like coffee almond and peach. This video is filled with funny moment, deep meaning, and of course lots of heart. I spent a lot of time making this so i really hope you enjoy.

Guadalupe RV Park:
Nestled in the incredible Valle de Guadalupe wine region, Guadalupe RV Park is surrounded by vineyards. This campground is donation based. The proceeds help the owners build schools for deaf children. Lucas is a great campground host and will come and introduce himself when he sees you pull in. The onsite campground manager is also very kind and accommodating. They have hot showers and flush toilets and the sites have water and 30 amp electric. Certain sites have a sewer connection and they have a dump station. Lucas was quick to give us a suggested itinerary for visiting the wineries.
This was a beautiful home base for our visit to Valle de Guadalupe and we will definitely be back!

La Jolla Beach Camp in Ensenada:
We loved the location of this campground and we felt very safe here. The showers were warm and the flush toilets were clean. We couldn't dump our grey water because of the slope leading up to the dump station. The electric ports were awkward too. This spot is best enjoyed without hookups so you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the surf. The camp residents were very friendly and we would definitely stay here again.

La Bufadora:
The Bufadora was interesting but we really went at the wrong time. We went on a Monday morning around 10 am. Most of the stalls were closed but we spoke with a very talented basket weaver. The blow hole, which is the main attraction, was interesting too. Try to go on the weekend or in the evenings!

From San Diego to Baja Mexico - Wine Country Tour in Mexico
From San Diego to Baja Mexico - Wine Country Tour in Mexico
We took a group trip down to Baja Mexico to explore wine country in Valle de Guadalupe. This was such an amazing trip I'm so excited to make it back again!
We did, however, make a quick stop in San Diego on our way from Scottsdale, Arizona and spent a couple nights in the Balboa Park area. Our Airbnb was amazing (shoutout to Curiel Collection for hosting us!). We didn't hesitate to take in some nature with the seals and then Pure Project and Ballast Point for brews and food.
Road to Mexico was pretty easy even in my truck with only a brief search. I know everyone had a good sleep on the ride! The wineries are just absolutely impressive in Baja and I'll list them below.

TRIP TO VALLE DE GUADALUPE - MEXICO'S WINE REGION - Travel Vlog ???????? ???? ????
Welcome to Valle De Guadalupe! This is Mexico's premiere wine region with over 100 wineries. It is known for its low key atmosphere, offering more authentic wine tasting experience and farm to table restaurants. Vamonos!
We travel two hours from San Diego by car with our tour guide Mario from Baja Winery Tours. After taking the scenic route, we arrive at Santo Tomas, one of the largest wineries in the region. We take a tour of the winery where the winemaker explains the region and the micro-climates that make the various types of wine.
Next, we visit Lomita which is a boutique winery where we get a glimpse into the wine making process. We watch as the workers sort the grapes to make red wine.
Now time for food. We go to Javier Plascencia's farm to table restaurant called Finca Altonzano, one of the best restaurants in the region. Javier is a Tijuana native credited for helping to start the culinary scene here in Baja California. His restaurant is truly memorable and known for unique and fresh ingredients.

Animalón by Chef Javier Plascencia in Valle de Guadalupe
The temperatures are rising, and so is Animalón’s outdoor kitchen -- underneath the 100+ year old oak tree at Finca Altozano, in Valle de Guadalupe. Proprietor/Chef Javier Plascencia and Executive Chef Oscar Torres have composed travel-worthy dishes featuring local ingredients honoring the region for the restaurant's 2018 Spring season. The progressive 7-course meal is graced with dishes like, Mussels in a purple potato chip “shell”, Kanpachi Crudo and Lamb barbacoa baked in clay.
