Washington Trip 2014
1. This is my 2014 vacation where Macy, Jude and I went to Washington to film a friend's wedding. But on the way, I wanted to hit up a few snowboarding resorts. We went to Discovery Ski Area, Whitefish Resort, Turner Mountain, and Lookout Pass. So it was really awesome that we got to go to 4 new resorts! I loved it! Macy also wanted to go to the ocean, so we did :).
2. I turn 22 in this video. On my birthday, I was at Whitefish Resort on an incredible powder day! Best day ever!
3. I'm sorry this vlog is so long, but I made it for me to look back on, not for it to be really short for you. Thanks for understanding :)
4. If you make it through this vlog, thanks for watching lol. If not, that's ok :).

Mount Shasta, Oregon Border and Redding Trip, May 2009
This is a trip we took to Mount Shasta City in Northern California.
We then made a short excursion into Ashland, Oregon. I've always been something of a border enthusiast. I find the idea of crossing any sort of border very liberating. So we just had to drive into Oregon. It was a a bit of a strange drive with the views alternating from semi-arid to stunningly green.
And finally to Redding, CA before making our way back to the Bay Area.

Park visitors marvel at cherry blossoms gifted by Japan
LEADIN
Cherry blossom trees gifted by Japan more than a century ago are impressing visitors at a park in Washington DC.
They form the centrepiece of the city's annual Spring Festival.
STORYLINE:
Cherry blossoms as far as the eye can see in Washington's West Potomac Park.
As the city basks in the sunshine, these trees have reached their full colourful bloom - bursting with pink and white flowers.
Three-thousand Yoshino trees were given to the city by Tokyo more than a century ago.
They usually bloom for up to ten days.
I love it. I lived in Japan for a while, we're Navy and that's when I fell in love with the cherry blossoms, says visitor Angelica Alvarez, from Annandale, Virginia.
And so I like to come down here, if I can, by myself, or with a friend, or with my family and look at all the monuments and just enjoy it. It's really beautiful.
This year's peak bloom has come slightly later than normal because of cold weather in March.
We did have a rather long and harsh cold winter. That delayed things for the trees. It doesn't actually harm them, cause any damage to them, but what it does is it slows them up, says Brian Hall from the National Park Service.
They just don't wake up until the soil starts to get warmer, and that actually produces all the enzymes inside the tree that causes the blooms to come out.
The average date for blooming since 1992 has been 31 March.
Last year they reached peak bloom on 9 April.
The trees bloomed as late as 18 April in 1958.
The Japanese really did a special... really special thing for Washington, DC by giving us these great trees. And I've been coming here since I was a little girl, and it's been six decades... and I'm still excited, says Washington resident Marie Drissel.
In 1981, the cycle of giving came full circle.
Japanese horticulturists were given cuttings from the trees to replace some cherry trees in Japan.
The valley where these original trees came from suffered a major flood and it wiped out most of the cherry trees there, so we took cultivations of the trees and sent them back, says Hall.
Admiration for the cherry blossoms among Washington residents and tourists mirrors how the Japanese feel about the bloom and the arrival of spring.
This year marks the 102nd anniversary of the gift of the cherry blossom trees from Japan - presented as a symbol of friendship.
I think Japan and US share a great deal in common, including values such as democracy, human rights. This is at the very foundation of Japan-US alliance in a way, says Masato Otaka, from the Japanese Embassy.
Today, more than 1.5 million people visit Washington, DC, each year to admire the blossoms.

Driving Downtown - Montgomery - Alabama USA
Driving Downtown - Montgomery Alabama USA - Season 1 Episode 9.
Starting Point: Commerce St
Montgomery is the capital of the U.S. state of Alabama and is the county seat of Montgomery County. Named for Richard Montgomery, it is located on the Alabama River, in the Gulf Coastal Plain. As of the 2010 Census, Montgomery had a population of 205,764. It is the second-largest city in Alabama, after Birmingham, and the 103rd largest in the United States. The Montgomery Metropolitan Statistical Area had a 2010 estimated population of 374,536. It is the fourth-largest in the state and 136th among United States metropolitan areas.
The city was incorporated in 1819, as a merger of two towns situated along the Alabama River. It became the state capital in 1846, representing the shift of power to the south-central area with the growth of cotton as a commodity crop of the Black Belt and Mobile's rise as a mercantile port. In February 1861, Montgomery was selected as the first capital of the Confederate States of America, until the seat of government moved to Richmond, Virginia, in May of that year. During the mid-20th century, Montgomery was a major site of events in the African-American Civil Rights Movement, including the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the Selma to Montgomery marches.
In addition to housing many Alabama government agencies, Montgomery has a large military presence due to Maxwell Air Force Base; public universities Alabama State University, Troy University (Montgomery campus), and Auburn University at Montgomery; private colleges/universities Faulkner University and Huntingdon College; high-tech manufacturing, including Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama; and cultural attractions such as the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts.
Two ships of the United States Navy have been named after the city, including USS Montgomery (LCS-8).
Montgomery has won several national awards including being voted Best Historic City by USA Today, being named an All-America City in 2014 by the National Civic League, being named a Top City For Job Growth in 2014 by ziprecruiter.com, and being named the happiest city in Alabama. Montgomery has also been recognized nationally for its successful, and ongoing downtown revitalization and new urbanism projects with Montgomery having been one of the first cities in the nation to implement Smart Code Zoning.
