The Budharatanamondob at Wat That Foun, Vientiane, Laos
Here I take a close look at the recently completed Budharatanamondob Shrine at Wat That Foon. The temple is located in the centre of the city, close to the Morning Market (Talat Sao). Construction of the Shrine was begun on the 7th November 2010 and was completed on the 4th May 2013, being funded, for the most part, by private donations.
The Shrine is beautiful with exquisite carvings, reliefs and intricate fretwork. The interior is covered with more carvings and every surface covered with brightly coloured painted borders.

WHAT TO DO IN LAOS - Vientiane, Vang Vieng & Luang Prabang
Hiiiii! Sorry I know it's been a minute since I've posted. I've been so busy! I'm back with some good content. I went to Laos! This is probably one of my favorite countries in South East Asia. Hope you guys can make a visit one day. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy the video. Cheers and safe travels!
------------------ THINGS TO DO (by city) ----------------------
~ Vientiane, Laos ~
* Pha That Luang: A gold-covered large Buddhist stupa in the centre of the city of Vientiane.
* Vientiane Night Market: A place to get Laos food in the evening.
* Buddha Park: A park full of buddha statues.
* Wat Si Saket: A temple and landmark area.
* Vat that Khao: The sleeping buddha is located in this area.
~ Vang Vieng, Laos ~
* Nana Backpacker's hostel: This hostel is a PARTY HOSTEL! It's a great place to meet people especially as a solo traveler. This hostel provides free whiskey and vodka in the evening (starting at 8 p.m.). This hostel also provides different types of excursion and transportation.
* Sakura Bar & Viva Pub: Great night life bar/club! The only thing that sucks is that they only play EDM all night. I wish they could switch it up.
* Space Bar & Rasta Bar: A place that offers psychedelic/recreational substances and mixtures of shakes/teas.
* Blue Lagoon #3: Apparently this is the best lagoon out of the three and to be quite frank it was beautiful!
* Nam Xay View top: It's a 25 minute hike and probably one the worst 25 minutes of your life. Make sure to wear comfortable and flexible shoes. This is a steep mountain, but the view is worth it! This is also the place where they have a motorbike provided for the instagram aesthetics.
~ Luang Prabang, Laos ~
* Utopia Bar: A bar with chill vibes and a cool atmosphere. You are surrounded by the riverside and can see the mountains! It's a great place to hang out in the day and relax at night.
* The Bowling Ally: This is the only place that's open past midnight. People usually come here to bowl, drink or meet people!
* Kuang Si Falls: A natural attraction with continuous waterfalls. This place is unreal and worth the visit! Take a private van with a group of 4 or solo trip with a motorbike. Whatever you decide, this place has to be checked off your bucket list.

The Last King of Laos
His Majesty Savang Vatthana or Samdach Brhat Chao Mavattaha Sri Vitha Lan Xang Hom Khao Phra Rajanachakra Lao Parama Sidha Khattiya Suriya Varman Brhat Maha Sri Savangsa Vadhana was the last King of Laos. He became king in 1959 upon the death of his father King Sisavang Vong. He had previously served as prime minister and regent. He faced many challenges with the end of the colonial relationship with France, the war in neighboring Vietnam and the rising threat of spreading communist revolution. He tried to keep Laos neutral in the ideological conflict sweeping Indochina but the fighting spilled over as the Pathet Lao tried to gain control of the country. In 1975 the communist revolution finally took over the country and King Savang Vatthana was forced to resign. The Pathet-Lao kept him as a puppet advisor for a time but finally arrested him and his family and put them in a concentration camp. He, the Queen and Crown Prince were later all reported dead though the communist government has never revealed the circumstances.

Laos: Champasaak, Wat Phu Temple Festival!
UNESCO SITE: Rarely document about Wat Phu Temple festival, in Champasak.
In early 2009 I moved to Laos, I was there mainly for this festival, I was the only westerner with a camera. During the day come at least 5000 pilgrims from all Laos for this celebration of faith and ancient traditions. Look for the others live music videos by night.

Phou Khao Khouay And Nnam Ngum Lake, Laos
We are in the second month of the rainy season here in Laos. Everything is lush and green and the dust of the hot season, that covers everything here, is just a memory!
Despite this, we still have many sunny days and it is always hot.
Today we decided to take the car and head to the jungle covered mountains north of Vientiane, in particular buffalo Mountain that overlooks the Reservoir lake of Nnam Ngum.
As we leave the Mekong River plains, and start our ascent, the clouds descend and the rains begin. The scenery is magnificent and the rain clouds add to the drama unfolding.....
Laoe: Vientiane - Wat That Luang Neua
Here I take a close look at Wat That Luang Neua, the residence of the Supreme Patriarch (Pha Sangkhalat) of Lao Buddhism. I have concentrated on the new building of the temple, completed recently and now open to the public, most days, when ceremonial occasions dictate. I like this building as it encompasses many Lao motifs, has a number of finely painted wooden door and window panels and in the interior the murals are good too.
