AUSTRALIA - Round Tour - Perth - Port Augusta - Alice Springs - Uluru - Olgas - Kalgoorlie – Perth
The footage for this film was recorded in Sep-Oct 2014, and this edit-version is from May 2018.
The 8750 km and other distances reported were my estimates based on Google Maps information. The real length of the journey was 9766 kilometres however, with an average of 250 km per day.
So apparently there was 1016 km more local driving than already taken into account in the estimate.
The total length in time was 39 days, from 20th of September until 28th of October 2014.
Outback Travel Australia's Warburton Trek
Allan Whiting and the OTA team joined Jol Fleming and some traditional owners to follow in Colonel PE Warburton's 1873 footsteps. Toyota and Bridgestone supported the effort that saw the team visit many sites on Aboriginal Lands west of Alice Springs. In 2014 they plan to do part two, from the WA border to the Indian Ocean. We go to Warburton regularly. You will find some nice eateries there, cafes, restaurants, bakery, chicken shop, ice-cream and many other shops. There is an information centre with helpful staff to guide you. It is well worth the trip.

Mount Donna Buang Snow⛄️Man time in Oz???????? Warburton
The closest snow to Melbourne can usually be found in Winter on the summit of Mt Donna Buang, near Warburton and just 70 km east of Melbourne. For daily snow updates (during snow season) check Warburton info page on Facebook.
With free access to the mountain (yes that’s right no charge!) Mt Donna is the perfect place for families to enjoy a low or no-cost snow experience and is especially popular for first time snow outings.
The pretty village of Warburton lies at the base of Mt Donna Buang and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants to fill hungry tummies with a variety of delicious meals and snacks. On weekends you will also find a food van on the mountain has plenty to tempt you with hot chips, hot chocolates and other popular ‘snow’ treats.
The trip up the Mt Donna Buang is approximately 17 km and there is generally no need for chains; however, on busy days travellers may need to be prepared to wait for access and depending on conditions there may be restrictions in place (and snow clearing each morning) – Parks Victoria and VicRoads are handy information sources on the day. Your patience will ensure everyone has a great time.
Essential snow updates can be found each morning on the Visit Warburton – The Waterwheel Facebook page – the official site for Warburton Valley - so be sure to like the page to stay in the loop.
Snow falls can be generous but at times unpredictable so always check Visit Warburton.com.au or Facebook page before you set off. You can also pop into our Visitor Information Centre - The Waterwheel - on the main street of Warburton to chat to one of our volunteers and pick up some maps.
Once on the snow-capped mountain there is a wonderful toboggan slope (you can hire toboggans in the township of Warburton and on the summit) and an excellent climbing tower with views all the way back to Melbourne on a clear day. Children and families will enjoy the wide open spaces to make snowmen and have a picnic.
For the adventurous at heart there are several walking tracks (but be sure to be safe and let people know where you are going) and for cycling enthusiasts check in with Doug at Cog Bike Shop for super snow cycling experiences.closest snow to Melbourne, Mt Donna Buang, Warburton Valley, snow updates, cheap family snow experience.

I'll be throwing in safe 4wd techniques, recovery tips, cooking demos and equipment and product reviews. I'll be joining not for profit organisations, 4wd clubs and station and farm owners demonstrating their hard work in the outback. My adventures are all about the locations I go to and and will include hiking, snorkelling, kayaking and much more. For me, It's not just about pointing the nose of my 4wd at the toughest tracks I can find but rather tackling what ever I have to to get the the hidden wonders Australia has to offer.
One day trip to Marysville, Victoria - Australia Part 1
Nestled in the foothills of Melbourne’s closest alpine resort are the villages of Marysville, Buxton, Taggerty and Narbethong. Located only 90 minutes drive from Melbourne in the picturesque Yarra Valley, Marysville and surrounds is an ideal destination for lovers of nature and the outdoors. The choices are plentiful, each allowing new memories to be made and new adventures to be shared. A place to leave you feeling connected to the natural surrounds, the people and one another.
Abandoned Australian Wildlife park. Decaying, left to rot.
This wildlife park was closed down in 2012 due to offences against the wildlife.
They also did not hold a license to display native animals to the public.
Due to the operator of this park not being able to obtain the license needed to run this park, they were evicted and surrendered all the animals to the rspca.
Since then this park has just been sitting, nothing so far has been done with it.
There's no news on if its being sold or going to be turned into something else.
Will just have to keep an eye on this place and see what happens with it.
The Shark that is displayed is a 5 metre Great White shark. *it is dead and is a taxidermy piece*...It died in 1998 in tuna fishing nets in South Australia. It is being preserved in this tank in formaldehyde.
