Royal Melbourne Zoological Gardens
A 55 acres zoo housing more than 5.000 animals (320 species). Is Australia's oldest zoo and was modeled on London Zoo. Was opened on 6 October 1862 at the Royal Park site.
Queen Victoria Market
A market since 1850s. It gradually expanded into space made available by the closure of the old Melbourne Cemetery. Open every day of the week except Mondays and Wednesdays.
Eureka Tower

10th July 2013 Great Central Gravel Pit to Warburton
Mike has a dream that night and decides to check the other rear disc on the Range Rover. Sure enough, it is about to explode like the other one so Brett gets his angle grinder out again and replicates the job he did on the other rear disk yesterday. Soon we are on the road again with a Range Rover that has no rear brakes at all. Tucky assures us that the trailer has brakes though so all should be OK.
We stop for fuel at Tjukayirla (try to pronounce that) to fuel up at $2.25 per litre which we are told will be 5c cheaper than Warburton. We pick up a frozen Roo tail out of the freezer at Tjukayirla and decide that Rootail therapy might be the go for Dinner the next night.
About 80-90km from Warburton Mike's Range Rover makes a new sound, this time it is a more Clunkedy Clunkety sound which is not good. A drive shaft support bush has now disintegrated and Brett comes to the rescue again removing the tailshaft altogether hoping that it can be driven with the front wheels only driving.
Unfortunately technology does not allow this and the Rangey's computer cannot get its head around the fact that it needs to drive the front wheels only.
The only solution now for the Range Rover is a rather a rather undignified tow from the oldest vehicle in the Convoy, Darius's old TOYOTA Troopy.
I go ahead in the HARDABUT Cruiser to try to organize accommodation for the Range Rover at Warburton while Mike gets the tow in.
We are able to arrange secure storage for the Rangey in a secure compound while it awaits a tilt tray trip of around 1500km back to Perth.
I get sent ahead to find a camp site out of town on the Connie Sue Highway whilst Mike arranges to have the Range Rover transported back to Perth and Brett hooks up Mike and Gemma's trailer so that Mike and Gemma can continue the adventure.
We settle in to a nice site not far off the track with plenty of firewood after I push over several dead trees with the HARDABUT Cruiser, and we enjoy another great campfire and a fantastic lightning show and a brief thunderstorm later in the evening.
We are at the start of our journey on the Connie Sue Highway.

Travel Australia: A short documentary film about Steavenson Falls in Victoria, Australia.
The Falls are near Marysville which is a couple of hours drive from Melbourne. It was filmed on a rainy and misty day. It is a tribute to the many lives lost during the early 2009 Bushfires in the area.
'Steavenson' is the correct spelling of the falls. They are named after John Steavenson who first visited the site in 1862 whilst surveying the area.
I filmed, edited, narrated and performed the music in the film. It is my first using Abobe Premiere Pro CS6.
The footage was shot on a Panasonic HDC SD-900 with a wide angle lens. The beginning driving footage was shot on a Samsung Galaxy S2.

Attractions of the Bellarine Peninsula - Melbourne - Australia
The Bellarine Peninsula is close to Melbourne within an easy 1 1/2 hour drive. Great for holidays and weekend escapes, it has things to offer for all kinds of tourists and holiday makers.
There is Historic Queenscliff, with the Fort, Maritime Museum, the Vue Grand and other attractions.
Point Lonsdale has great cafes, a Lighthouse that is still operational and you can tour with prior bookings, the pier which provides great fishing and sightseeing, and is also a great spot to do some dolphin watching, as you can see in the video :)
Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove and Point Lonsdale also have some excellent surf beaches that will entertain locals and visitors alike.
Take your bikes for a casual family ride from Point Lonsdale to Queenscliff along a well-kept track.
During school holidays, visit the Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre for some up-close encounter with local marine life.
And don't forget to take a trip on the SeaRoad Ferries across Port Philip Bay to Sorrento while you are on the Bellarine. It's worth it on a calm and sunny day.

The footage for this film was recorded in Sep-Oct 2014, and this edit-version is from May 2018.
The 8750 km and other distances reported were my estimates based on Google Maps information. The real length of the journey was 9766 kilometres however, with an average of 250 km per day.
So apparently there was 1016 km more local driving than already taken into account in the estimate.
The total length in time was 39 days, from 20th of September until 28th of October 2014.
