Day 1 of a 4 day walking tour in this area of southern Greece saw me walking up to explore the Viros Gorge. Here you see me taking a break at a little church with great views

The remainder of the walk took me from Tseria to Pedhino to Kalyves before re-entering the stream channel of the Viros gorge to visit the abandoned Likaki Monastery. Here you see me in the vicinity of the monastery admiring the early evening light before heading back to Kardamyli via the stream channel.

After the last video I walked to Exo Hori and from there into the stream bed of the Viros Gorge. As it was not then my plan to walk up the gorge, here I am ascending up the other side to walk on the old Kalderimi to Tseria

Kardamili is a seaside traditional village, located in Mani in the South Peloponnese, 35 km from Kalamata and 250 km from Athens. It is an important tourist resort with many hotel facilities and many visitors every year. There are also traditional taverns, picturesque pebbled coves and small harbors, crystal clear blue waters and many pebbled or sandy beaches in the surrounding area. The marked footpaths on the Vyros Gorge are excellent for walks to visit the old Byzantine churches.

AROUND STOUPA PELOPPONESE
In 2004, we visited Stoupa in the Peloponnese. We also visited several of the neighboring cities. On this old video, we get glimpses from Trachila, the beach of Agios Nikolaos, Thalames, Vyros Gorge, Exochori, Tseria, Kardamili and Milia. The video quality is characterized by the equipment from 2004.

Hiking Trip - Mt. Taygetos
On Sunday 23/12/2018, a group of 6 people decided to hike a traditional pathway on Mt. Taygetos , one of the highest Greek mountains , that is situated in Peloponnese between the cities of Kalamata and Sparta. On their way , they came across an abandoned village, an animal farm and an unbelievably beautiful scenery they could never forget.
