Honoring Female Vets | Kentucky Life | KET
Fewer than 10 of thousands of monuments and statues honoring America's veterans are dedicated to the women who have served the US. West Liberty, Kentucky is home to one of these rare sculptures honoring females in the military.
The Morgan County Woman's Club commissioned a bronze sculpture by artist Stephen Tirone of three service women. Tirone is a former Marine himself and a retired art professor at Morehead State University.
The sculpture, which stands in Tredway Memorial Park, represents the roles of women in the military in the past, present, and future. The past is represented by a World War II service woman holding a clipboard. A woman wearing combat fatigues represents the present, and the future is symbolized by a commander saluting the American flag in the park.
According to government figures, women make up 10 percent of all U.S. veterans, and about 15 percent of active-duty personnel.

1990 Dover (Security) Oildraulic Glass Elevator - Freehold Raceway Mall - Freehold, NJ 2018 RETAKE
Filmed: April 24, 2018
Here’s a 2018 retake of this awesome Dover Scenic elevator. I’ve been riding this elevator since I was only like a year old or even a few months old. This elevator is the only fully relay controlled elevator in the mall as this elevator has the Dover Chirp and disappearing numbers on the floor indicator. The rest of the elevators in this mall are fully microprocessor controlled and/or mixed relay/microprocessor controlled. And this take may not be the best so please bear with me. With that being said, enjoy this video of this AWESOME Dover Scenic elevator!
Also I absolutely LOVE the lower pitched Dover Impulse Chime on *LL on this elevator! It sounds very much like newer ThyssenKrupp elevator directional chimes. UL has the normal pitched Dover Impulse Chime. And also notice how the people on the elevator seemed fascinated with my hobby, they were VERY nice people who respected my hobby!

“As far as I’m concerned, it’s not an issue,” said Hood County Judge Darrell Cockerham, summing up the sentiment of most in the region. “It’s history. It represents the past, and it’s important to a lot of people.” (Video by Max Faulkner/Star-Telegram)

Peter Wolf Toth Trail of the Whispering Giants
Peter Toth created 74 Whispering Giants all are in all 50 states 1 in Canada, and even one in Hungary. Interesting fact is that they all resemble natives of the region that they are located in. The basic tools he used to create these were a hammer and chisel...and on occasion he used a mallet and an axe. He rarely ever used power tools to create these beautiful pieces of art. I hope everyone will be able to find them and let me know more about them with either photos or through a video.

Abraham Lincoln's Birthplace: Hodgenville, Ky. | President's Day | Kentucky Life | KET
Our Town—Hodgenville
As the town closest to the Larue County birthplace of Abraham Lincoln, Hodgenville celebrates Lincoln's legacy in many ways.
Lincoln was born on Feb. 12, 1809, on Sinking Spring Farm, three miles south of present-day Hodgenville, in what was then Hardin County. The Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site is located here. When Lincoln was 2, his family moved to Knob Creek, a few miles away, where he lived until age 7. His boyhood home is also part of the historic site.
Hodgenville's Lincoln Museum, located on Lincoln Square in the historic district, features 12 scenes from Lincoln's life as well as memorabilia and an art collection. The town is a prominent place along Kentucky's Lincoln Heritage Trail.
This segment features Lincoln impersonator Jim Sayre of Lawrenceburg, a member of the Association of American Lincoln Presenters and a winner of the group's Abraham Lincoln Award.
