Wadjemup Lighthouse, Rottnest Island, Western Australia (Drone Foortage - Aerial Video)
Completed in 1849, the original 20-metre (66 ft) Wadjemup Lighthouse (also known as Rottnest Island Light Station) was Western Australia's first stone lighthouse and was built to provide a safer sailing passage for ships to Fremantle Port and the Swan River Colony.
A second and larger replacement tower was built on the same site in 1896. It is the fourth oldest extant lighthouse in Western Australia and was Australia's first rotating beam lighthouse. A shipwreck which was partly caused by poor communications and misunderstood signals from the lighthouse prompted the construction of another lighthouse on the island in 1900.

Bathurst Lighthouse & Pinky Beach, Rottnest Island, Western Australia (Drone Footage - Aerial Video)
Bathurst Lighthouse is one of two lighthouses on Rottnest Island, the other being Wadjemup Lighthouse. It is located on Bathurst Point, in the northeast of the island, and was activated in 1900. The lighthouse was erected in response to a series of shipping disasters in the area, which included the loss of the City of York in 1899. The light source and lantern house were originally to be used at Cape Leeuwin but were then built in on Rottnest Island. In 1920 the original acetylene flame was replaced by a flasher, which made the keeper superfluous. An electric light was installed in 1986. Bathurst Lighthouse serves as the rear light in the pair of Kingston Reef's leading lights, which guide ships departing from Fremantle through the reefs near the island. Its light is characterised by a group of four flashes that occurs every sixteen seconds.
Pinky Beach is located immediately to the east and is a 250 m long northeast-facing beach, with the Bathurst Lighthouse located above the southern end of the beach, and water treatment plant behind the northern end. It is bordered by calcarenite bluffs and backed by a grassy foredune. Scattered rocks, reefs and seagrass meadows lie off the low energy beach.

Emile and Samreen Engagement and Romantic Proposal Video - Wadjemup Lighthouse on Rottnest Island
On 28th September 2013, Emile Sahhar proposed to his girlfriend Samreen Lloyd at the top of Wadjemup Lighthouse on Rottnest Island. Rottnest Island is located just 18km off the coast of Perth, Western Australia.
Emile and Samreen met each other on Facebook when Samreen added Emile as a friend on Facebook on 8th January 2013. What was amazing was the fact that neither of them had any mutual friends. Samreen found Emile's profile on a page that he had posted too and liked what she read and was interested in making new friends. Samreen read Emile's profile and liked what she read so she decided to add him as a friend. When Emile received the friend request from Samreen, he was intrigued, so he viewed Samreen's profile and liked what he read and accepted Samreen's friend request. What followed was months of online chatting and messages via Facebook of getting to know each other more and encouraging one another.
On 2nd May 2013, Emile flew to Perth from Melbourne to meet Samreen for the first time. She came to meet him at the Perth Domestic Airport. It was love at first sight! A few weeks later Emile returned again for Samreen's sisters wedding, where both Emile and Samreeen were part of the Bridal party and paired together! Samreen also happened to be the one to catch the bouquet, clearly a sign of things to come! The more time they spent together the more they believed in their hearts that God had brought their lives together. Both were at peace with each other and had found true joy and happiness together.
Emile returned to Perth for the 5th time in one year with the intention of proposing to Samreen. He arrived in Perth on Friday 27th September, one day after Samreen's birthday because he couldn't get leave a day earlier to be their for her birthday. When he arrived at the airport, he picked up the hire car and drove straight to the jewellers in Perth to pay and collect the engagement ring. Emile had preselected the Stone and the Ring Setting on a prior trip to Perth at the start of the month.
The stone is a 1 Carat Round Brilliant set in a six claw Tiffany Setting platinum ring, engraved with the inscription: Love never fails.
After collecting the Ring Emile then drove to Samreen's house to pick her up and take her out for a romantic dinner at the C Restaurant in Perth which is a revolving restaurant with panoramic views of the city. Emile also brought with him a birthday present for Samreen. He presented the gift to Samreen to open after they finished their meal. He bought her a Tag Heuer Link Lady Full Diamond Bezel 29mm watch. Samreen was amazed and loved the gift which Emile had bought for her.
The next day, Emile planned a trip to Rottnest Island via the Rottnest Air Taxi. They drove to Jandakot Airport and arrived in time at 9:00am for their 20min flight to Rottnest Island. It was the first time Emile and Samreen have flown together and the first time in a Cessna 172 Aircraft. Upon safe arrive onto Rottnest Island, Emile and Samreen walked to the Visitor Centre and bought their tickets for the Daytripper bus and got on the next bus to take them to Wadjemup Lighthouse which was located on the centre of the Island.
Once they reached the lighthouse, they were greeted by the friendly volunteer tour guide who took them up to the top of the lighthouse via the spiral staircase. After taking in the amazing panoramic views and photos from the top of the lighthouse balcony, Emile passed his iPhone to the tour guide who began recording what you see in the video. Emile and Samreen give thanks and praise to their Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for everything He has done in and through their lives and are looking forward to a wonderful life together.

ROTTNEST ISLAND WA EARLY SHIPWRECKS AND LIGHT HOUSES WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Rottnest Island shipwrecks
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The following list of shipwrecks off Rottnest Island (32°0′S 115°31′E / -32, 115.517) shows twelve larger and surveyed wrecks close to the island, which is off the Western Australia coast.
Since the first Europeans visited the west coast of Australia in the 16th century, Rottnest has seen numerous recorded shipwrecks. The 11 kilometre long and 4.5 kilometre wide island is surrounded by hidden and partly exposed reefs whilst being buffeted by the Roaring Forties. It is situated 12 km west of the port of Fremantle meaning that much of the maritime traffic to Western Australia's major port passes close by.
Details on every shipwreck at the island are unknown as many thousands of vessels of varying size visit the island each year. Other ships have been lost in waters further off-shore including some closer to Fremantle. Still others were stranded on rocks at Rottnest but were re-floated. The Anitra II is in this latter category but is included in the list as the hull is on display on the island near the main settlement.
All of the wrecks are protected under Commonwealth legislation in the Historic Shipwrecks Act (1976) and State legislation in the Maritime Archaeology Act (1973). Plaques have been located next to the wrecks as well as onshore to indicate their locations.
Lighthouses
The first stone lighthouse built in Western Australia was completed in 1849 and built in the centre of the island.[1] The 20 m tower was replaced in 1896 with a new tower as the current Wadjemup Lighthouse.
Following an inquiry after the City of York disaster in 1899, a second lighthouse was built at Bathurst Point on the north eastern end of the island.
