A key action of AlburyCity's Murray River Experience Master Plan is the construction of more than 70 kilometres of Murray River Trail, connecting Wonga Wetlands with the Hume Weir.
The trail will be named Wagirra, reflecting the significance of the river to local Aboriginal people, and the heritage of those who have constructed it. Wagirra is a Wiradjuri word that means to step on the ground.
What's more, the trail is being constructed by Albury's Wagirra Trail Project team, which is made up of members from the local indigenous community. It's a project that's given its participants the training, skills, experience and confidence they need to develop a carrer. For some, it's also been a life changing experience.

MIN MIN (Part1)
The Kurruru's Dance Ensemble performed with the Talkindjeri Dance troupe creating a work that explores the unexplained and mysterious natural occurrences of the Murray river.
Informed by the stories of the Ngarrindjeri people, Min Min asked audiences to examine the relationship Aboriginal people have with country, and how an Aboriginal perspective offers explanations to every event, often different from that of mainstream science. Min Min explored concepts of the unknown and unanswered through both contemporary and traditional dance and cultural practice.
