Blethering Ben - 68 - Return to Sandwood Bay
Four miles from the nearest road, Sandwood Bay in NW Sutherland takes some beating for setting. With a mile of sand, a freshwater loch, a romantic ruin, towering cliffs, a rock stack, huge Atlantic breakers and even a resident ghost....it is considered by some to be among the finest, least spoilt beaches in the whole of the UK.
I first visited in 2003 when I camped above the dunes and walked to Cape Wrath. It was a key 'wilderness' experience in my life, and so 13 years later I make an overdue return to Sandwood to see if the beach is still as wonderful as I remember it....

The Battle Of Bannockburn Anniversary
On the 23rd June 2019 I took a trip to the scene of one of Scotlands famous battle victories.
BANNOCKBURN
The Battle of Bannockburn on 23 and 24 June 1314 was a Scottish victory by King of Scots Robert the Bruce against the army of King Edward II of England in the First War of Scottish Independence.
It is the 705th anniversary and I hadn't been before so took my camera and headed out.
It has an experience room for a fully interactive area but I wanted to see the actual sight and the famous monument and statue
I hope you enjoy this quick video and on the day I post this it is the anniversary (24th June 2019) and I will raise a glass to all the soldiers on both sides who fought for their cause.
If you enjoyed this then please consider subscribing. It would really mean a lot and if you have been before or would like to go then leave a comment and maybe if you are feeling good..smash that like button
Thank You As Always for all your support and love :)

Hey, by the way! So...we are worldschoolers. Don't know what that means? Worldschooling means different things for different people, but overall and in general it means that we are teaching our kids about life hands on through experiences as we travel. Our motto is We Travel, we Learn, we Love, & we Serve. And we try to do just that as we move around this beautiful planet seeing new things, making new friends, trying to leave it a little better than we found it and experiencing other cultures first hand. It's an amazing trip, this life, but of course it also has it's downs. This is still our real life with kids arguing, tears, hurts, downfalls and the like. We always try and reboot our attitudes and get back on the road with a happier attitude. It is a choice!
We are the Wallace Family and we are Clicking Refresh to Reboot our Lives one day and experience at a time. xoxo

Driving to Aberfoyle, a small village in Scotland
Aberfoyle (Scottish Gaelic: Obar Phuill) is a village in the historic county and registration county of Perthshire and the council area of Stirling, Scotland. The settlement lies 27 miles (43 km) northwest of Glasgow.
Visitors were first attracted to Aberfoyle and the surrounding area after the publication of The Lady of the Lake by Sir Walter Scott in 1810. The poem described the beauty of Loch Katrine. Aberfoyle describes itself as The Gateway to the Trossachs, and is well situated for visitors to access attractions such as Loch Lomond and Inchmahome Priory at the Lake of Menteith. A tourist information office run by VisitScotland sits in the centre of town, offering free information, selling souvenirs and acting as a booking office for many of the local B&B's and hotels. Aberfoyle Golf Club was built in 1860 and is located just south of town near the Rob Roy restaurant. Aberfoyle is also part of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.
Aberfoyle is also home to the largest Go Ape adventure course in the UK, featuring the longest death slide, or 'zip-line', in the UK.
