Kota Kinabalu City Mosque Info:
The Kota Kinabalu City Mosque (Malay: Masjid Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu) is the second main mosque in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, after State Mosque in Sembulan.
Situated near the sea, this majestic white mosque boasts similar features to the Nabawi Mosque in Medina. This floating mosque has a prayer hall which houses three madrasahs and accommodates from 9,000 to 12,000 people at a time.
By far the largest mosque in Kota Kinabalu, the Kota Kinabalu City Mosque is even possibly the most beautiful one in Malaysia – the man-made lagoon which surrounds it gives a serenely gorgeous and dramatic look to the mosque on a full moon night.

Gaya Street Sunday Market Info:
Gaya Street is a street Sunday market area in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. It is dubbed as the Chinatown of Sabah due to many Chinese coffee shops and restaurants situated there.
The street was known as Bond Street during the British colonial era and was established in 1902 after the construction of shophouses was completed. The street started as a railway track for the transportation of rubber all the way from Sapong and Melalap rubber estates in Tenom which ended at the wharf. The Jesselton Harbour was the main gateway from North Borneo during when there were no passenger planes. The market was once considered as the heart of Jesselton as major business activities were done there.
Since then, farmers and ordinary folks from the interior and fishermen from the coastal areas would make their trip to sell agricultural produce and other crops in the market, this include the Chinese immigrant as well Filipino and Indonesian traders. Aside from agricultural products, local food, souvenirs, arts and craft, footwear, antiques and even pets are sold in the market.
Along the market street, it is also the place where the old Jesselton Post Office (now the main office of Sabah Tourism Corporation (STC)) are located together with the Jesselton Hotel

Kota Kinabalu is the capital of Malaysia’s Sabah state in the northern part of the island of Borneo. Often referred to as KK, it’s a coastal city partly surrounded by rainforest. It's known for its bustling markets, modern boardwalk, beaches and waterfront Kota Kinabalu City Mosque. It is also a gateway to Kinabalu National Park, the home of 4,095m-high Mount Kinabalu.Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park, made up of 5 major islands off the coast, is home to beaches, coral reefs, tropical jungle and waterfront houses built on stilts. Near the airport, Tanjung Aru is a beach area with dramatic sunsets, plus dining and nightlife. Sabah Museum displays headhunter artifacts and hosts an ethnobotanical garden and a zoo. Visitors can follow boardwalks through protected mangrove forest and bird habitat at Kota Kinabalu Wetland Centre or observe orangutans at Lok Kawi Wildlife Park, which is about 20km south of the city.

I have toured the city one afternoon and got to see Clock Tower, Signal Hill Observatory, Jesselton Point, and more.
Witnessing the sunset from the Harbor area is the highlight of this diy walking tour - it is incredibly beautiful and is certainly one of the best sunsets I have ever seen!

LETS EXPLORE KOTA KINABALU MALAYSIA
#Travel #Explore #Experience #Repeat #ShareVidsOnly
Our Sabah adventure was indeed memorable and unexpected. Contrary to what people might know, Kota Kinabalu is a safe place, majority of locals are warm and friendly. Though it is not as modernize as other countries in Asia, natural resources are being preserved and taken cared of.
Roaming around was effortless, thanks to our very accomodating tour guide turned friend Hafidz who gave us a wonderful and hassle-free experience. We commend him for doing things beyond what is required (i.e offering food/drinks, extended tour time, drop off at the airport - ALL F.O.C. ????????). Credits to Hafidz, we achieved amazing instagrammable photos, including buwis buhay pictorial ????. You will never regret hiring him, He will exceed your expectations and definitely make your trip worthwhile!
