Ljubljana Walking Tour: Explore Slovenia's Charming Capital City by Foot
Chilled out, gorgeous, safe. Ljubljana has to be one of the most charming and relaxed cities I've visited in Europe.
Join me on this bright summer day as I walk through the old town of Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia, and explore some of the most popular landmarks and attractions.
Note: I probably mispronounced some names/areas but what I hope to do in this video is give you an insight into how beautiful Ljubljana is, and give you a feeling of what it would be like walking through this amazing place yourself.
Personally, what I loved most about Ljubljana was the architecture, accessibility and eco-friendly status of the city.
I really enjoyed walking around the city centre as it has been closed off to vehicle traffic, creating a safe, relaxed atmosphere for pedestrians and cyclists to get around freely.
I was surrounded by brilliant architecture all around me, and the locals whom I spoke to were incredibly friendly and spoke perfect English.
Ljubljana is also one of Europe’s most eco-friendly and “green” cities and was crowned the winner of the European Green Capital Award in 2016.

The lake of Bled (in Slovene: Blejsko jezero, in German: Veldeser See) is a glacial lake of Slovenia. Located on the eastern edge of the Julian Alps, 55 kilometers from the center of the capital Ljubljana, it is one of the main tourist destinations of the country.
The banks of the lake are largely landscaped. It is bordered on the east by the town of Bled, and its medieval castle (eleventh century) which dominates the lake atop a cliff of 130 meters. Nearby are many hotels, including the former holiday residence of Tito transformed into a luxury hotel.
The lake is small in size, 2,120 meters long by 1,380 meters wide at maximum, covering an area of 145 hectares. At a depth of up to 30 meters, it encircles the only island in the country, Blejski otok, known for its fifteenth-century neo-Gothic church built on a pagan place of worship of the early Slavs. Tombs from the ninth to the eleventh century are still to be found on the island.

SLOVENIA: EXPLORING the beautiful capital of LJUBLJANA, top attractions ????️⛪
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's visit Ljubljana which is the capital and largest city of Slovenia. It has been the cultural, educational, economic, political, and administrative center of independent Slovenia since 1991.
We will go around the centre of the old town, for a whole day, and we are going to visit the most important sites including the castle located on a hill overlooking the whole city.
Slovenia, a country in Central Europe, is known for its mountains, ski resorts and lakes. On Lake Bled, a glacial lake fed by hot springs, the town of Bled contains a church-topped islet and a cliffside medieval castle. In Ljubljana, Slovenia’s capital, baroque facades mix with the 20th-century architecture of native Jože Plečnik, whose iconic Tromostovje (Triple Bridge) spans the tightly curving Ljubljanica River.
