Taiwan is a beautiful island filled with countless waterfalls! One reason I spend so much time in Taiwan is because of the incredible nature here. Taipei City is one of the few cities in the World with so many beautiful waterfalls and hikes just outside of the city itself. This was one of my favorite days in Taiwan! Follow me as me and my friend explore and enjoy the Lingjiao waterfall.

LINGJIAO WATERFALL PINGXI DISTRICT TAIPEI ( 嶺腳 瀑布 )
Air Terjun Lingjiao (嶺腳 瀑布) adalah salah satu dari banyak air terjun indah yang ditemukan di dalam distrik Pingxi yang bergunung-gunung di Kota Taipei Baru. Ini bukan yang tertinggi, terlebar atau paling banyak dikunjungi dari mereka semua tetapi mungkin salah satu yang terbaik jika Anda berencana pergi berenang.
Air terjun ini menemukan sumbernya dari Sungai Keelung (基隆河) yang mengalir melalui pegunungan Pingxi sampai ke Taipei dan merupakan sungai yang sama yang membentuk Air Terjun Shifen yang jauh lebih terkenal di hilir. Air dari sungai berwarna hijau zamrud dan sedikit lebih hangat dari mata air gunung biasa yang membuatnya bagus untuk berenang, menelusuri sungai, . Tapi Ingat lah harus hati hati jangan sampe Anda terjadi Sesuatu, Krn Jika terjadi Sesuatu kemungkinan air terjun Akan di TuTup untuk umum, tidak Bisa berenang kembali, Dan itu Sangat Merugikan untuk Orang lain nya .

An other My Room Abroad outdoor adventure with exchange students from NTUST, NCCU, NTU and NTNU. We had good times swimming in this waterfall near Taipei. Lingjiao waterfall is perfect for swimming and jumping and only 40min from Taipei. Yet an other perfect adventure for Beer and Waterfalls!

The Pingxi Branch Line
Riding the Pingxi Branch Line in New Taipei City is a journey into the past, as well as a jaunt into lush and scenic countryside that feels hundreds of miles apart from busy and crowded central Taipei, which is in fact just a quick bus or train trip away.

There’s a lot to see between Haikeguan and Jingtong, so you might want to pick up a Pingxi Line 1-Day Pass (NT$80), which allows unlimited travel (and stops) along the length of what the Taiwan Railways Administration collectively calls the Pingxi/Shen’ao Line. Tickets are sold at the Taipei, Songshan, Keelung, Ruifang, and Yilan railway stations, as well as some of the stations on the Pingxi Branch Line. If you’re just stopping at a couple of the stations, note that an EasyCard (a popular Taiwan smart card) can also be used.
Shifen
Continuing inland, beyond Sandiaoling the branch line follows the river through a scenic wooded gorge. The train is soon plunged into darkness as it enters the first of four tunnels on the line. For much of the way to the next station, Dahua, the train is either underground or the tracks and the river are crammed side by side in a rocky ravine. Try to get a seat on the right-hand side to get the best views. After rain, tributary streams course down both sides of the gorge in a series of small waterfalls.
After passing tiny Dahua Station, the train emerges from the last tunnel on the branch line, rolls over a long bridge high above the river, and runs straight down the center of the main street of Shifen before coming to a halt at this village’s station. Shifen is one of the most popular stops on the line.
All kinds of Taiwanese snacks, from shaved ice and popsicles to grilled sausages and stinky tofu, can be sampled in the main street, which is also a great place to make, decorate, and set off a sky lantern. Write wishes or messages with brush and paint on the sides of a meter-tall paper lantern, fix a wad of “ghost money” inside, and after lighting the money allow the lantern to float up into the sky, where the wishes will hopefully be communicated to the gods!
Follow the crowd that gets off at the railway station to the northeastern end of Shifen Old Street, follow the main highway until you reach a fork, and take the road to the right to get to the Shifen Visitor Center and, further on, to the magnificent Shifen Waterfall. After heavy rainfall, this 30-meter-wide curtain of water is awesomely powerful, hence its nickname, “Taiwan’s Niagara Falls.” After enjoying the waterfall, cross the Waterfall Viewing Suspension Bridge right beside the railway line and return to Shifen on the main highway.

The hike was about 5 ~ 10 minutes long. We parked near a train station, so I'm assuming you could also take the train to this place.
There isn't much of a hike for those that are looking for a workout. But the waterfall jump is one of the higher ones I've done in Taiwan. I would say 3 stories high?

LingJiao Waterfall Adventure - Taiwan
LingJiao Waterfall is located in PingXi District, New Taipei,Taiwan. This waterfall is open for public to enjoy. You can go swimming, do cliff diving and have a picnic here.
Travelling here from Taipei, just ride a train to Ruifang station then tranfer train to PingXi then get off at LingJiao Station. From LingJiao Station you just need to walk back for 3mins. and you will reach the waterfall.
Enjoy the summer with family and friends, just remember whenever you go nature tripping ALWAYS LEAVE NO TRACE.

My day hike to Wanggu waterfalls and to Jiufen to hike up the Keelung mountain. Was equivilant to walking up a 119 story building, some 800 meters high. Check out the pictures on my Facebook.

其中最著名的就是十分瀑布以及老街放天燈
而十分車站的下一站則是望古和嶺腳
這裡卻隱藏兩個瀑布秘境，在不起眼的火車站中
很容易讓人忽略和遺忘這兩個地方
距離火車站不過是10幾分鐘的路程
路途也不會太艱難就可以拜訪
下次規劃到平溪、十分之旅可別忘了順便拜訪
望谷瀑布嶺腳瀑布，喜歡寧靜聽瀑布聲的你不能錯過。

《灰窯瀑布》拉繩跳水超好玩，兩個可以跳水的瀑布相隔不到五分鐘
位於新北市平溪區
也是平溪瀑布群兄弟姐妹們之一
這是我們目前平溪三個瀑布
感受上最難攀爬上瀑布的一個
解鎖完高度較高的以後
抱持著完整探索的忠旨
又在不遠處找到一個可以拉繩跳水的小瀑布
不知哪個才是真正的灰窯????

這次的點建議開車前往
因為最鄰近的望古車站，走來也要幾十分鐘吧！
附近一帶訊號不佳
所以有一起同行的朋友請注意勿落單
每到一個跳水點要玩跳水前
請務必確認水深足夠以及週遭無障礙物
也請注意別做危險動作
凡事還是要量力而為
