A1 road (Great Britain)
The A1 is the longest numbered road in the UK, at 410 miles. It connects London, the capital of England and the United Kingdom, with Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. It passes through and near North London, Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City, Stevenage, Baldock, Letchworth Garden City, Huntingdon, Peterborough, Grantham, Newark-on-Trent, Retford, Doncaster, Leeds, Harrogate, York, Ripon, Darlington, Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne, and Berwick-upon-Tweed.
It was designated by the Ministry of Transport in 1921, and for much of its route it followed various branches of the Great North Road, the main deviation being between Boroughbridge and Darlington. The course of the A1 has changed where towns or villages have been bypassed, or where new alignments take a slightly different route. Several sections of the route have been upgraded to motorway standard and designated A1(M). Between the M25 and A696 the road is part of the unsigned Euroroute E15 from Inverness to Algeciras.

RICHARD III of ENGLAND - WikiVidi Documentary
Richard III was King of England from 1483 until his death in 1485, at the age of 32, in the Battle of Bosworth Field. He was the last king of the House of York and the last of the Plantagenet dynasty. His defeat at Bosworth Field, the last decisive battle of the Wars of the Roses, marked the end of the Middle Ages in England. He is the subject of the historical play Richard III by William Shakespeare. When his brother King Edward IV died in April 1483, Richard was named Lord Protector of the realm for Edward's eldest son and successor, the 12-year-old Edward V. Arrangements were made for Edward's coronation on 22 June 1483; but, before the young king could be crowned, the marriage of his parents was declared bigamous and therefore invalid, making their children officially illegitimate and thus barring them from inheriting the throne. On 25 June, an assembly of Lords and commoners endorsed a declaration to this effect and proclaimed Richard the rightful king. The following day, Richar...

Richard III of England
Richard III (2 October 1452 -- 22 August 1485) was King of England for two years, from 1483 until his death in 1485 in the Battle of Bosworth Field. He was the last king of the House of York and the last of the Plantagenet dynasty. His defeat at Bosworth Field, the last decisive battle of the Wars of the Roses, symbolises the end of the Middle Ages in England. He is the subject of the play Richard III by William Shakespeare.
When his brother Edward IV died in April 1483, Richard was named Lord Protector of the realm for Edward's son and successor, the 12-year-old King Edward V. As the young king travelled to London from Ludlow, Richard met and escorted him to lodgings in the Tower of London where Edward V's brother Richard joined him shortly afterwards. Arrangements were made for Edward's coronation on 22 June 1483, but before the young king could be crowned, his father's marriage to his mother Elizabeth Woodville was declared invalid, making their children illegitimate and ineligible for the throne. On 25 June, an assembly of lords and commoners endorsed the claims. The following day, Richard III began his reign, and he was crowned on 6 July 1483. The young princes were not seen in public after August, and a number of accusations circulated that the boys had been murdered on Richard's orders, giving rise to the legend of the Princes in the Tower.

At Home In Russia, At Home On The Prairie
What causes a region--a place--to imprint itself upon the people who are born and live there? What is the connection between landscape and memory? What is forgotten and what is remembered? Prairie Public's newest documentary in the Germans From Russia series shows how a territory can endure in the minds of the descendants of those inhabitants after years, even after generations, have passed.

Friday Sermon - 9th November 2018
Live Friday sermon delivered by the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (may Allah be his Helper), from Baitul Futuh Mosque, London.
Friday Sermon: Waqfe Jadid: 6th January 2017
Friday Sermon delivered by Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
Recorded on 6th January 2017.
In his Friday Sermon, Huzoor(aba) said that people spend their wealth for various purposes in this world. Today, there is only one community who is spending their wealth for one religious goal throughout the world. This is the community of the Promised Messiah(as) who is spending its wealth for the sake of Islam. The reason is that the Promised Messiah(as) gave his community the true understanding of financial sacrifices in the way of Allah. The Promised Messiah(as) at one point stated that I urge you again and again to sacrifice your wealth. This is per the commandment of Allah. Islam at this time is oppressed and being attacked. When such is the case, should we not make efforts for the sake of Islam? This is the reason that Allah established this Jama’at. It is the promise of Allah that whosoever sacrifices his wealth, Allah will bless him greatly in the world and he will see his reward in the hereafter. Huzoor(aba) said that surely the companions of the Promised Messiah(as) understood the concept of financial sacrifices and have been mentioned various times by the Promised Messiah(as). And it is astonishing to see how the new comers are also sacrificing greatly in this way. They are following this teaching of the Holy Quran that these are such people who spend their wealth to attain the pleasure of Allah. Huzoor(aba) said that the sacrifices of poor people bring great fruits for Jama’at and the world is left astounded how we are able to achieve so much with such limited resources. If the purpose is to achieve the pleasure of God, then the blessings are plenty as well. Huzoor(aba) presented various examples and incidents of financial sacrifices of Ahmadis of various countries that how Ahmadis are reaping the blessings of Allah through financial sacrifices. Huzoor(aba) said that we are seeing every day that Allah is granting new people to the community of the Promised Messiah(as) who are increasing in financial sacrifices. This is also a moment of reflection for those Ahmadis who, despite being prosperous and living in developed countries, do not actively participate in financial sacrifices. Huzoor(aba) said that such people should present financial sacrifices and should seek to increase them. Then Huzoor(aba) said that as per usual custom, today I’m announcing the 60th year of Waqf-e-Jadid. The total income of this year was 8 million, 20 thousand pounds which was 12 thousand more than the previous year. Pakistan held its first position, followed by UK, Germany, America, Canada, India, Australia, a Middle-Eastern Jama’at, Indonesia, another Middle-Eastern Jama’at and Ghana at the 10th position. A total of 1,340,000 participated in Waqf-e-Jadid which was 105,000 more than the previous year. Huzoor(aba) prayed that may Allah accept the sacrifices of all Ahmadis and may he enable us and all Ahmadis to further increase in our financial sacrifices in the way of Allah. Ameen. At the end, Huzoor(aba) announced the funeral prayer in absentia of 2 individuals. Mukarramah Asma Tahira Sahiba of Canada Jama’at who was an Aunt of Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih V(aba) and Mukarram Chaudhry Hameed Nasrullah Khan Sahib of Lahore, Pakistan, who served Jama’at in various capacities for an extensive period. Huzoor(aba) mentioned a few of their many admirable qualities.

Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey

Its landmarks include the Royal Palace of Madrid; the Royal Theatre with its restored 1850 Opera House; the Buen Retiro Park, founded in 1631; the 19th-century National Library building (founded in 1712) containing some of Spain's historical archives; a large number of national museums, and the Golden Triangle of Art, located along the Paseo del Prado and comprising three art museums: Prado Museum, the Reina Sofía Museum, a museum of modern art, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, which completes the shortcomings of the other two museums. Cibeles Palace and Fountain have become one of the monument symbols of the city. Madrid is the most visited city of Spain.
