Waterloo Central Railway Visit
Hello Rail Fans! Today I have some videos from July to share with you. A visit to the Waterloo Central Railway located in St. Jacobs Ontario.
The Waterloo Central Railway runs a recreational passenger train just outside of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, on a historic railway branch between Northfield Drive and the town of Elmira.

Essex Terminal Railway 0-6-0 #9 operates on select days on the Waterloo Central Railway. This switcher puts on a fine show as it operates between St. Jacobs and Elmira in Ontario, Canada.
THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride – Waterloo Central Railway
Join us for this magical trip where Waterloo Central Railway will be providing service to the North Pole onboard THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride this holiday season. The magical story comes to life when the train departs the St. Jacobs Museum platform for a one hour round-trip journey to the North Pole.
Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, passengers will relive the magic of the story as they are whisked away on THE POLAR EXPRESS™. Once onboard, hot chocolate and treats are served as passengers read along with the classic children’s book, The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg. Santa and his helpers greet passengers at the North Pole and then board the train, where everyone is given the first gift of Christmas – a silver sleigh bell. Chefs aboard each car will lead passengers in singing Christmas carols on the ride back.

ION Kitchener Waterloo LRT. Our Kitchener-Waterloo's new ION Light Rail Transit – Hate it or love it?! In this video I'm going to showcase our Waterloo Region’s new light rail transit system. This long anticipated LRT just opened for public use. Already, people are either singing its praises or cursing its name. Will I love my ride on our ION Kitchener Waterloo LRT going through the heart of our Waterloo Region? Or hate it?
For those of you who don’t know the Grand River Transit LRT runs from Fairway Station at Fairview Park Mall in Kitchener to Conestoga Station at Conestoga Mall in Waterloo. Waterloo Central Railway is running The Polar Express with a Steam locomotive that is nearly 100 years old!
ion Light Rail (Region of Waterloo) - Winter 2019
ion Light Rail operating at the start of Winter 2019. This 19 kilometre route links the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo in Ontario Canada, and opened in the spring of 2019. It operates with a fleet of 14 Bombarder FLEXITY Freedom Light Rail Vehicles (LRV's) - the first system to use them.
At the time of filming, trains were still limited to a maximum operating speed of 50 km/h, as the Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system had not yet been implemented.

On June 30, 2016 the Waterloo Central Railway hosted their first steam photo freight. Essex Terminal 9 an 0-6-0 was the star of the show. Our charter started early with lighting the fire. Later, we were treated to #9 doing what she was built to do - switch cars and assemble trains. Our train then ran from St. Jacobs, Ontario to Elmira and back stopping along the way for photo runbys.

In this video I'm at the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market. The Farmers’ Market along with the village of St. Jacobs itself is quite a popular hot spot for tourist and locals. This market is estimated to see over a million visitors every year and is the largest year-round farmers’ market in Canada.
St Jacobs Farmers Market in Waterloo Region basically consists of four major areas. You have the Market Tent, The Peddlers Village Building, The Farmers Market Building and of course in the Spring, Summer and Fall outdoor vendors. Everything you see highlighted is where you can find parking… and you’ll need it because this place gets busy!
St. Jacobs Farmers Market is truly of of the Region of Waterloo's best spots to visit! Watch as I take you through the best of Waterloo Region. Whether you're new to the area or lived here your whole life, this applies to you!
