The programme is as follows;

Monday 27 May
Looking at the View: The Chiltern Hills and the River Thames
Students meet at Wallingford School of Art for an introductory session and then explore the beautiful spring views over the Chiltern Hills and along the banks of the River Thames, looking for signs of fresh growth, both plant and animal, all set in the wonderful green landscape. Lunch in a pub.

Tuesday 28 May: Visit to Exhibition, 'Looking at the View' at Tate Britain
This free exhibition finds surprising coincidences and remarkable affinities in the way we look at the view, whether near or afar, high or low, from inside or out. Over seventy works by more than fifty artists are included, including familiar names such as J.M.W. Turner and Tracey Emin as well as lesser-known figures of British art history. We are sure that students will be stimulated and return to their own work with fresh approaches. We shall also look at Turner's watercolours in a special exhibition showing how his watercolours were interpreted for printing.

Wednesday 29th May Visit to Waterperry Gardens, near Wheatley
The glorious gardens of Waterperry will enable us to focus on plant life close up as well as being set in fantastic countryside. There is an entrance charge of £6.50 for the horticultural gardens but access to the rest of the estate is free. There is a café, but students may like to bring a picnic!

Thursday 30th May Painting at Brazier's Park
The day begins with a slide show of mythological representations of Spring, focussing on Botticelli's Primavera. We will then make our way to Brazier's Park, a remarkable 'Gothick' building set in extensive grounds which is the home of an interesting creative study centre.

Friday 31st May Finalising our Work
Meet at 10.00 at the School and spend the day completing the week's work. Coffee, Tea and Cakies will be provided!
