Waterville Aerial Video in Gulf Shores Alabama - CondoInvestment.com
Waterville is a water park in downtown Gulf Shores, AL and minutes from the condos in the East Beach area and West Beach area. The Original Oyster House is close and one of many great restaurants in the downtown area. For every restaurant's menu, visit Waterville has a variety of entertainment options and includes a little something for the entire family. The go carts, mini golf, arcade, roller coaster and other dry things to do, compliment the variety of fun things to do in the water. The park is home to many slides, but also features a hugely-popular wave-rider. The water is pulled and pushed to create a simulation of surfing. Riders actually compete in regional contests for this ride and it's popularity has grown tremendously over the last 5-10 years.
The Gulf Coast is growing rapidly and new businesses seem to be opening every day. Foley, AL has the new OWA development coming and the Poarch Creek Band of Indians have spent 500M on the new amusement park. We update these pages regularly and will add updates until completion.
Another new project is the Gulf Place beach renovation, which is 15M being spent to upgrade the public beach access at the Gulf Shores Hangout
All of these new projects and businesses opening coupled with the new presidency has created a buzz in our area and seemingly across the country. The time for Gulf Shores and surrounding area to emerge as one of the nation's premier vacation destinations seems to be here. Trip.com's recent article claiming Gulf Shores to be one-of-the top rising star destination in the US is right on point. For info on the real estate market, try visiting

Places to see in ( Gulf Shores - USA )
Places to see in ( Gulf Shores - USA )
Gulf Shores is a city on Alabama's Gulf Coast. Its Gulf State Park has beaches, trails and a pier, plus a golf course and a zip line over the dunes. To the west, sea turtles and migratory birds thrive among the coastal habitats of Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. Farther west, 19th-century Fort Morgan guards Mobile Bay. The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo offers hands-on encounters with lemurs, kangaroos and sloths.
The cities of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are connected by two main east-west highways. The most southern one is Highway 182 (known locally as Beach Blvd). It runs along the beach and offers great views of the water. Highway 180 (known locally as Canal Road) runs along the Intracoastal Waterway. Plenty of accommodations are located directly on the beach. Guests can walk right out and enjoy the sand and water. Some are located within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops.
The best thing to do in Gulf Shores is enjoy the beaches. There are plenty of places to park at most public beaches. Some offer facilities and picnic tables. There are many beach access area that provide pedestrian access only. These are best if you are staying nearby and don't need a car to get to the beach. It is best to be aware of the Beach Warning Flags that tell you whether it is safe to go int othe ocean.
Gulf Shores is a family friendly community whose government works to protect and enhance the quality of life for its residents, visitors and retirees, while promoting economic prosperity in a business-friendly atmosphere. Jack Edwards National Airport is located in Gulf Shores and offers services from Gulf Air Center, Salt Air Aviation Center and Platium Air Center. The airport is located right in town, just two miles from the beach and is extremely convenient.

Story:
A wildfire is burning in Gulf Shores just west of Gulf State Park.

Cannonball Run Wooden Roller Coaster - Offride - Waterville USA - Gulf Shores, AL
Built in 1995, this was a great addition to the growing Waterville USA. Nothing spectacular compared to today's wooden coasters, just a nice out & back design. The first drop is one of my favorites & reminds me of White Lightning's first drop. The first airtime hill gave you plenty of airtime as it was peaking its 43mph. The double up element is one of my favorite elements of a wooden coaster. The turn around has a nice dip in the middle of it to keep things interesting. After that is a few bunny hills, which have some nice airtime and ejector moments as you make your way back to the station. On slow days you could get two trips on one ride.
Present day:
I hated to hear the news of them planning to demolish this coaster in September of 2018. They are saying to make room for park expansion. If you look in the video, the only part of the ride that's in the park is the station & brakerun; everything else is across the parking lot. The area for the most expansion is to the east of the park. This area has parts & pieces of an old tube slide that either removed or was bought and never put up. Which all leads me to this: this coaster has gotten significantly rough over the last few years. The last time I rode it was 5yrs ago and it had the feel of a broken in wood coaster.
Now, sadly, it feels like a broke wood coaster. The first airtime hill will jar your teeth loose. You can watch the front two trains jump up & down on the crest of the hill it's so bad. The turn-around needs just as much, if not more, TLC. It is extremely bumpy and doesn't track right (shifts/jars back and forth) throughout the turn. The flat spot after the turn around is even fairly bumpy, but not as bad as the previously mentioned areas. The turn that takes you beside the lifthill could have a few feet removed from it and banked to keep up the speed. It almost seems to not want to make it over it at times. I did notice quite a few pieces of structure and track areas that could be, for a lack of better terms better off. A fresh coat of paint wouldn't hurt it either. The southern heat & humidity as well as poor upkeep has not been good for this ride.
All of this leads me to believe they are only removing the coaster due to the amount of money it will take to fix it to a better state. I don't think it'd be an easy fix such as getting rid of the PTC trains for Timberliners; it needs a lot more work than that.
They will use the area for more parking and not to expand the park. They may use the station and brake run area for something but I doubt it will be as fun as a wood coaster.
If they are really expanding the park, why not expand to the east, not across the parking lot where this coaster sits? Unless they are expanding towards the parking lot and need the coaster area to shift the parking lot. Only time will tell.
This coaster will be missed.

We got toasted in Gulf Shores Alabama | Fulltime RV Family
We got toasted in Gulf Shores Alabama. We were not ready for the intense sun that the gulf brought. That and our SPF 30 sunscreen was useless there. The amazing thing about this place is that there's tons of things to do that don't require you to bake in the sunlight.
We overall had a very memorable time here.
Here's our date night video!!!
