Western Science Center - Hemet, CA
Come share the excitement at this state-of-the-art museum complex!
Located off Domenigoni Parkway by Diamond Valley Lake, Western Science Center is home to a fascinating array of archaeological artifacts and Pleistocene Ice Age fossils that were unearthed at Diamond Valley Lake.
In the gallery you’ll meet “Max”, the largest mastodon found in the Western United States at the time of discovery, as well as “Xena”, a teenage Colombian mammoth. Let your imagination run wild as you walk on tempered glass, which houses “Little Stevie,” a large mastodon installed beneath the museum floor to re-create the actual dig site.
The museum campus provides excellent facilities for the research, curation, and presentation of the nearly 1,000,000 specimens discovered during the development of the Diamond Valley Lake in Hemet, California.
Scientists, researchers, students and the general public have an unparalleled opportunity to interact with and to understand the magnificent creatures and resourceful people who inhabited the Diamond and Domenigoni Valleys from the distant Ice Age past through today. There are plenty of hands on activities including a “make your own fossil” station.
Come early and take a walking tour through our native plant garden, and leave enough time to visit the museum store to pick up a unique item.
Programs for the community are held regularly at Western Science Center so make sure and check our website for special events, and visiting exhibits. If you become a member, you can get in free all year to a variety of exhibits, receptions, lectures, and events!
Whether it is dire wolves, saber-toothed cats, Pleistocene fossils, local family history, or archaeological artifacts, we have something for you!

Rick Alan Ross is a private consultant, lecturer, and cult intervention specialist. He began his work as an anti-cult activist and community organizer in 1982.
Ross first became concerned about controversial groups and movements in response to a radical religious group that had covertly targeted his grandmother’s nursing home. Since that time he has raised awareness about cults and facilitated more than five hundred interventions to rescue people from cultic situations.
Ross is one of the leading experts on cults in the world today.
He has consulted with the FBI, the BATF, and various other law enforcement agencies, as well as the governments of Israel and China, on the subject of cults. Ross has been qualified, accepted and testified as an expert court witness in eleven different states within the United States including US federal court. He has worked as an expert analyst for CBS News, CBC of Canada, and Nippon and Asahi in Japan.
Ross has lectured at more than 30 universities and colleges including the University of Chicago, Dickinson College, Carnegie Mellon, Baylor, Wuhan University of China, Assumption University of Thailand and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He has also been published within peer-reviewed academic journals on the topic of cults.
Regarding his cult intervention work Ross states that historically about 75 percent of the people that he conducts an intervention with decide to leave the group by the end of such an effort. He has done interventions across the United States and around the world. Ross did two successful interventions with the notorious Branch Davidians led by self-styled messiah David Koresh.
Ross has appeared in fourteen documentaries and has been interviewed and quoted in media all over the world.

tiny blue belly went to blue belly heaven
This tiny lizard is really blue - so I immediately figured it was a fence lizard aka blue belly -- with my research I now think that it is a sagebrush lizard also a blue belly -- that is in the same family however the habitat of the sagebrush lizard is more fitting with where I found this poor little guy that went to blue belly heaven
The sagebrush lizard (Sceloporus graciosus) is a common species of phrynosomatid lizard found at mid to high altitudes in the western United States of America. It belongs to the genus Sceloporus (spiny lizard) in the Phrynosomatida family of reptiles. Named after the sagebrush plants near which it is commonly found, the sagebrush lizard has keeled and spiny scales running along its dorsal surface.
The sagebrush lizard is similar to the western fence lizard, another Sceloporus species found in the western US. The sagebrush lizard can be distinguished from the western fence lizard in that the former is on average smaller and has finer scales. The keeled dorsal scales are typically gray or tan, but can be a variety of colors. The main (ground) color is broken by a lighter gray or tan stripe running down the center of the back (vertebral stripe) and two light stripes, one on either side of the lizard (dorsolateral stripes). S. graciosus will sometimes have orange markings on its sides.
Three regional races of the sagebrush lizard are recognized: the southern sagebrush lizard lives in Southern California, and the western and northern races are found in many western states, including Oregon, Idaho, Colorado, Montana, Washington, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, and Arizona.

L. RON HUBBARD - WikiVidi Documentary
Lafayette Ronald Hubbard , better known as L. Ron Hubbard and often referred to by his initials, LRH, was an American author and the founder of the Church of Scientology. After establishing a career as a writer, becoming best known for his science fiction and fantasy stories, he developed a system called Dianetics which was first expounded in book form in May 1950. He subsequently developed his ideas into a wide-ranging set of doctrines and practices as part of a new religious movement that he called Scientology. His writings became the guiding texts for the Church of Scientology and a number of affiliated organizations that address such diverse topics as business administration, literacy and drug rehabilitation. The Church's dissemination of these materials led to Hubbard being listed by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most translated and published author in the world. The Guinness World Record for the most audio books published for one author is also held by Hubbard. In 20...
