OUR BIGGEST ADVENTURE YET
Hi guys!
This is the beginning of our 10 day trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar, Africa. We flew from Toronto to Kilimanjaro, drove to Arusha and then headed out the next morning to the national parks. The national parks we visited in this video are Tarangire and the Serengeti.
This is by far one of our biggest adventures yet.
There was so much video that I decided to put the first two videos together into one, hope you kind of feel like you're there.
More to come :)
Also, if you’re interested in booking your own Safari adventure with Wild Mind Travel Co. you can visit:
Since our trip, we've received a ton of messages asking about who we booked with, how it was, etc, etc. So our friend Justin, Founder & Managing Director, has set up a discount code “KSWILD” for 10% off:
Customers will have to enter the promo code in their quote request (there’s a space for it) and if they go ahead with their tour, they can use the code upon checkout to get their 10% discount. Valid for all NEW quote requests.
Help them become THE Lesbian Safari Masters hahaha. That’s what they’re going for, for sure, just trust me on this one.

Arusha is a city of approximately 400,000 people in Northeast Tanzania, East Africa. It's regarded as the gateway to the popular Northern Safari Circuit.
Arusha, also known as A Town by the locals, is situated at the foot of Mount Meru, Africa's 5th highest mountain. The altitude gives the city a pleasant climate and lush green environment.
Arusha is not a particularly attractive city in itself and is regarded by many visitors as little more than a necessary stopover before their safari starts in earnest. However, the natural charm of the Tanzanians and the buzz of a fast-growing city mean that Arusha has plenty to offer for those who are prepared to see beyond their air-conditioned safari trucks and satellite-TV equipped hotel rooms.
Arusha is home to the UNMICT, the successor to the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. It is also the site of the signing of the Arusha Declaration.
Safari in Arusha, Tanzania
=====================
Definitely something to try, if you can afford it. There are many types of trips for many budgets; usually the pricier ones get you out farther into the Serengeti and the Ngorogongoro Crater, to places that are a little less touched by man. The less expensive excursions to reserves and parks are specialized, of a shorter duration, and worthwhile. If there's one trip that will change your perspective on life, it's an African safari.
Not all tour guides are knowledgeable on all topics. A field guide to your favourite pursuit, such as birding, which is popular with visitors, is a worthwhile idea.
Beware of paying more than market prices, you will still be offered the same accommodation as the person who is paying the regular price.

See and Do in Arusha, Tanzania
==========================
Climb Mount Meru (4,667m). It can be done in 2-4 days, depending on your physical condition. You are not required to take guides and porters up Mount Meru, but you must be escorted by armed rangers. Temperatures can be freezing, so prepare warm clothing and sleeping bags.
Tanzania Tourist Board can arrange cultural excursions to nearby villages for TZS15,000-50,000. These cultural tourism visits can be some of the most rewarding parts of a trip to East Africa, and the human (cultural) element involved complements an animal-centric safari to the game parks. Some cultural tourism programs (Ilkiding'a, Ng'iresi) are within an hour's hike of Arusha. Several others are within an hour's drive (Monduli Juu, Longido, Mulala, Tengeru, Ilkurot, Oldonyo Sambu). They are great opportunities to learn about the Maasai and Meru tribes who live nearby, pastoralism, agriculture, stories & legends, local economies. There are several good hikes around Mt. Meru, including some beautiful waterfalls. Longido has camel safaris. They are flexible in nature, meaning you can arrange an hour-long visit or a day-long one. Some sites have lodging or camping.
Keep in mind your guide may ask for donations to a charity, school or orphanage. Some dishonest guides might pocket the money, so it is advisable to give money directly to a reputable charity. The guide will give you that information.
Century Cinema has movies for TZS5,000-7,000 (USD3-5). It is part of a modern complex on Njiro Rd, which also houses modern and upmarket restaurants including popular Indian restaurant Khan's, steak outlet McMoody's and serving Ethiopian, Tanzanian, European and other cuisines is a restaurant Spice Retreat. Njiro Rd is not safe to walk on at night, so get to the complex by another form of transport rather than by foot. A taxi to/from the town centre shouldn't cost more than TZS4,000 (USD3).
Coffee walk, Nkoaranga village (30 minutes drive from Arusha town towards Moshi), ☎ +255 784 420 342/+255 784 416 317 (info@wild-tracks.com) Private tours scheduled on demand. Coffee walk arranged by local coffee company on the slopes of Mt. Meru. A guide will take you to a small family farm and a coffee roastery to show you the journey of the coffee bean. $15-45pp (depending on group size).

Kilimanjaro mountain (The roof of Africa) is located about 300 kilometres south of the equator just near the city of Moshi. Kilimanjaro Mountain has also been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Apart from being the highest free standing mountain in the planet, it is also the highest mountain in Africa. In Kilimanjaro national park you can do;
Climbing,
Wildlife Watching. In trekking you can see baboons, bush pigs, mongooses, elephants and a number of other animals. But keep in mind that you might need to hire an armed park ranger to reach some interior habitats due to the fact that you will be in the potential danger of meeting leopards, buffalos and other large animals

Nairobi to the Indian Ocean, Tanzania Video Details
When Ben arrived we made fast plans and hit the road. Our first goal was the Indian Ocean. Ben’s gear included lots of old stuff he had accumulated over the years in Germany. Some we gave to a local charity and some we kept for bribes & gifts.
The drive was East on a paved two-lane highway. We stopped at intervals for gear, money, stuff and terrible road-kill food.
The Zebra Camp offered an empty riverside campground for the first driving evening.
I soon discovered that Ben had a routine. Each object in its place and dinner prepared with precision. This was going be a different trip from my normal crazy random approach.
The next day we found free canoes so we pretended to be Canadians.
We were told there were only little crocks in this tiny river. But it was soon apparent that tiny and large are two things guys are bad at estimating.
The following day we stopped for lunch at the costal town of Tanga before heading south on a dirt road along the coast. Note that Google maps did not allow us to drive this route. It kept switching to the inland paved routes.
Near the end of the day we pull over to setup camp at the Beach Crab Resort and test the waters of the Indian Ocean.
Saadani National Park, Tanzania Video Details
After checking out the Indian Ocean south of Tanga, we hit the dusty road south. At the Pangani River we manage to meet the ferry as it was preparing to leave. We paid a small fee and drove on as it cast off.
Tanzania used to be a German colony so large enterprising farms are the norm. The local cash crop is Sisal. Sisal production in Tanzania began in the late 19th century by the German East Africa Company. Sisal was continually produced during the German administration and the British administration and was the colony's largest export highly prized for use in cordage and carpets worldwide. At the time of independence in 1961, Tanzania was the largest exporter of Sisal in the world and the industry employed over 1 million farmers and factory workers.
Our route (the only road south along the coast) crosses though the Saadani National Park. And foreigners always pay to enter parks, even if it is unavoidable. We had to pay $80 each for the privilege of driving through the park (a road tax just for foreigners). Since we had to pay, Ben felt we might as well test the 4WD capabilities of the Land Cruiser.
Testing the 4WD for Ben meant railway lines, dusty trails, dry river beds and jungle foliage. All good fun.
We exit the park and continued south after getting our $80s worth.
Sanje Falls, Tanzania Video Details
We hired a skilled park guide and discussed the hiking options. Ultimately we decided visit the world famous Sanje falls (3 water falls for the price of one). And yes park fees had to be paid first.
Our guide was casual, cool and informative. He soon pointed out the elusive colobus monkeys that never drink water. They spend their life in the trees and get all their requirements from the forest leaves. But even in the trees they are not safe. They are the favorite prey of leopards.
We spent the rest of the day hiking to the three falls, taking a swim and relaxing in the shade as the sun cooked the local jungle canopy.
After visiting Sanje falls in the Udzungwa Mtns NP, Ben gave gifts to the park personnel (more used clothing) and then set off east.
We spotted a roadside signpost that said Beware of Alligators for the next 27km’s.
We stopped to check out a local lodge called Alligator camp but one look at the river was enough to encourage us to move on.
Late in the afternoon we drove into thundershowers that convinced us to call it a day. We reached another lodge offering camping but this time I opted for a large $12 canvas safari tent (I didn’t want to setup my tent in the rain and they advertised an English breakfast included). Unfortunately the local cook didn’t have a clue what an English breakfast was.
Once back on the road we were flagged down by the police for speeding again. Cost? A pair of old boots.
After breakfast we broke camp and made our way back to the main road. On impulse we followed some signposts off the main road and headed in search of a natural bridge that was formed by volcanic lava flows.
and more...

JESUS (Vietnamese, Northern)
This film is a perfect introduction to Jesus through the Gospel of Luke. Jesus constantly surprises and confounds people, from His miraculous birth to His rise from the grave. Follow His life through excerpts from the Book of Luke, all the miracles, the teachings, and the passion.
God creates everything and loves mankind. But mankind disobeys God. God and mankind are separated, but God loves mankind so much, He arranges redemption for mankind. He sends his Son Jesus to be a perfect sacrifice to make amends for us.
Before Jesus arrives, God prepares mankind. Prophets speak of the birth, the life, and the death of Jesus.
Jesus attracts attention. He teaches in parables no one really understands, gives sight to the blind, and helps those who no one sees as worth helping.
He scares the Jewish leaders, they see him as a threat. So they arrange, through Judas the traitor and their Roman oppressors, for the crucifixion of Jesus. They think the matter is settled. But the women who serve Jesus discover an empty tomb. The disciples panic. When Jesus appears, they doubt He's real. But it's what He proclaimed all along: He is their perfect sacrifice, their Savior, victor over death. He ascends to heaven, telling His followers to tell others about Him and His teachings.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:

SUMMARY
=======
Kenya (; locally [ˈkɛɲa] (listen)), officially the Republic of Kenya (Swahili: Jamhuri ya Kenya), is a country in Africa with its capital and largest city in Nairobi.
Kenya's territory lies on the equator and overlies the East African Rift, covering a diverse and expansive terrain that extends roughly from Lake Victoria to Lake Turkana (formerly called Lake Rudolf) and further south-east to the Indian Ocean. It is bordered by Tanzania to the south and south-west, Uganda to the west, South Sudan to the north-west, Ethiopia to the north and Somalia to the north-east. Kenya covers 581,309 km2 (224,445 sq mi) has a population of approximately 48 million. Kenya's capital and largest city is Nairobi, while its oldest city and first capital is the coastal city of Mombasa. Kisumu City is the third largest city and a critical inland port at Lake Victoria. Other important urban centres include Nakuru and Eldoret.
Kenya's geographical and topographical diversity yields a variety of climates, including a warm and humid coastline, temperate savannah grasslands in the interior, temperate and forested hilly areas in the west, arid and semi-arid areas near the Somali border and Lake Turkana, and an Equatorial climate around Lake Victoria, the world's largest tropical freshwater lake. Kenya subsequently support an abundance of flora and fauna, many of which are protected by wildlife reserves and national parks, such as the East and West Tsavo National Park, Amboseli National Park, Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru National Park, and Aberdares National Park. The country is the birthplace of the modern safari and hosts several World Heritage Sites such as Lamu.
Kenya is part of the African Great Lakes region, which has been inhabited by humans since the Lower Paleolithic period. By the first millennium C.E., the Bantu expansion had reached the area from West-Central Africa. Its territory was at the crossroads of the Niger-Congo, Nilo-Saharan and Afroasiatic cultures, today representing most major ethnolinguistic groups in Africa. Bantu and Nilotic populations together constitute around 97% of Kenya's population. Trade with the Arabs began in the first century C.E., leading to the introduction of Islam and Arab culture to coastal regions, and the development of a distinct Swahili culture. European exploration of the interior began in the 19th century, with the British Empire establishing a protectorate in 1895, followed by the Kenya Colony in 1920. Kenya gained independence in December 1963 but remained a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. In relative terms, it has been relatively stable and democratic in the ensuing decades, albeit in ...
