Lake Itasca Wilderness Drive
Took a trip up to Lake Itasca in Northern Minnesota for a few days - its a great place and is the source of the Mississippi River!
Around the edge of the lake and encompassing a few others is a Wilderness Drive, a mostly one-way road which winds through old Red, White and Jack Pine stands and has stops at various interesting points.
Notable areas of interest are:
Aiton Fire Tower,
Preachers Grove,
Peace Pipe Vista,
The Mississippi Headwaters
Bison Kill Site
The footage was shot using my GoPro Hero3+ Silver and a Zhiyun Z-1 Evolution to stabilize the camera.

Wilderness Drive, Itasca State Park, Minnesota (Trip 1 Vid 16) United States
This is some information on what to see and do on the Wilderness Drive in Itasca State Park in Minnesota.
Mississippi Headwaters Itasca State Park MN
Today I visited Itasca State Park in MN. Which began in 1891 and is MN oldest state park. This is where the Mississippi river starts. The water was so clear and cool but when you go to Louisiana the end of the Mississippi the water is brown, dirty and muddy. Lots of outdoor things to do. Boating, hiking, biking and camping.

RV LIVING-EXPLORING THE CALIFORNIA CHINA WALL-DONNER SUMMIT, TRUCKEE,CALIFORNIA-NEAR LAKE TAHOE-EP74
RV LIVING-HIKING CALIFORNIA CHINA WALL AT DONNER SUMMIT IN TRUCKEE CALIFORNIA-NORTH OF LAKE TAHOE. In 1865, the Central Pacific Railroad was trying to lay railroad tracks east to meet tracks that were being layed west by the Union Pacific Railroad. To decrease rising costs, and increase productivity, the CPRR hired 50 Chinese laborers as a test to see if these “smaller” workers could cut it. These workers proved to be so superior, that eventually 12,000 would be employed. The tunnels saw their first trains in 1868, and their last in 1993. We visited these tunnels in June 2019. Visiting in the months of July and August would be even better!

Itasca State Park Minnesota
Established in 1891, Itasca is Minnesota's oldest state park. Today, the park totals more than 32,000 acres and includes more than 100 lakes. Walk across the mighty Mississippi as it starts its winding journey 2,552 miles to the Gulf of Mexico. Stand under towering pines at Preacher's Grove. Visit the Itasca Indian Cemetery or Wegmann's Cabin, landmarks of centuries gone by. Camp under the stars, or stay the night at the historic Douglas Lodge or cabins. Explore Wilderness Drive past the 2,000-acre Wilderness Sanctuary, one of Minnesota's seven National Natural Landmarks.

The headwaters of the Mississippi River are located at Lake Itasca in Minnesota's Itasca State Park. The park is a wonderful place to visit any time of the year, particularly by motorcycle. In this video, I take a day trip to the park on the FJR and check out a couple of campgrounds, explore the headwaters, and enjoy a ride on Wilderness Drive.
