The Willamette Falls is a natural waterfall on the Willamette River between Oregon City and West Linn, Oregon, in the United States. It is the largest waterfall in the American Pacific Northwest by volume and the seventeenth widest in the world.[1] Horseshoe in shape, it is 1,500 feet (460 m) wide and 40 feet (12 m) high with a flow of 30,849 cu ft/s (874 m³/s), located 26 miles (42 km) upriver from the Willamette's mouth.
Willamette Falls - Where the Future Began
Where the Future Began reveals the dramatic story of cultures, risk-takers, and entrepreneurs tapping into one of the great geologic secrets of North America. Willamette Falls, among the largest waterfalls in the nation, was the last stop on the Oregon Trail, the birthplace of a state, and a place where dreamers unlocked the potential of electricity, and changed the world forever. Today, Willamette Falls continues to inspire.

Oregon City
A video postcard of Oregon City, Oregon. Oregon City was established at Willamette Falls on the Willamette River in 1829 by John McLoughlin for the Hudson's Bay Company, to utilize the power of the falls to operate a lumber mill. In 1844, Oregon City became the first incorporated city west of the Rocky Mountains, and was considered the final stop of the Oregon Trail. The Oregon City Bridge, designed by Conde B. McCullough, is a steel half-through arch structure constructed in 1922 (although it appears to be a concrete arch due to the gunite concrete coating over the steel arch members).

Vlog 037: Oregon City, OR
March 2017
Visiting Oregon City, Oregon on a very rainy day. Started the day by grabbing breakfast at Yvonne's Restaurant. Then strolled through the downtown area and to the Oregon City Municipal Elevator, the only municipal elevator in the United States. We tried to go through the historic McLoughlin House Museum, but were unable to due to school field trips. We finished up our day in Oregon City at the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center.

Oregon City Water Works Memaloose & S. Clackamas Explore
***Update***
The South Fork Water Line Exhibit is now open on the 2nd floor of the Clackamas County Historical Society. Located in Oregon City at 211 Tumwater Drive.
Lots of information and photos to view.
**** **** **** ****
In 1915, a pipeline was built to send much needed drinking water to Oregon City and West Linn. The water was collected from Memaloose Creek, and later the South Fork of the Clackamas about 8½ miles SE of Estacada, Oregon. Decommissioned in 1985, some of the pipeline, artifacts, bridges, and several tunnels still remain as well as three major waterfalls--all within a ½-mile radius.
If you would like a Google Earth KML file I built that shows the semi-accurate locations of the roads, tunnels waterfalls, etc in this video, let me know and I can e-mail that to you.
Here are some links about the area you might find interesting--more to come:

White River Falls and Willamette Falls, Oregon with drone
During a spell of rainy weather around Portland, I drove an hour and half East to White River Falls and Sherars Bridge on the Deschutes River. The river was running quite full, so the falls were photographically rich.
Two days later, I visited Willamette Falls, in Oregon City (about a half-hour South of Portland. Willamette, while located in an old industrial district, is one of the largest-flow rivers in America.
I wish the weather had been better, but the roar of the water and the churning flows provided plenty of drama!
