Comienza en Las Cucharas el ProAm Costa Teguise Slalom & Hydrofoil
Los mejores riders del mundo ofrecerán un espectáculo de alto nivel hasta este sábado 10 de marzo
El ProAm Costa Teguise Slalom & Hydrofoil arrancó este miércoles en Costa Teguise con la participación tanto de profesionales como amateurs que vienen expresamente a Lanzarote a competir, así como windsurfistas locales de alto nivel, que podrán medirse con los mejores del mundo hasta el sábado 10 de marzo en la playa de Las Cucharas.
El acto de presentación de la cita deportiva tuvo lugar en la mañana de este miércoles en la misma playa, con la presencia del alcalde de Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, el concejal de Turismo del mismo ayuntamiento, Antonio Callero, y Eric Yoldjoglou, experto regatista y organizador de esta importante prueba internacional, así como aficionados a este deporte y deportistas inscritos, siendo un total de 25 riders (hombres y mujeres), entre los que destacan el inglés Ross Williams (Campeón del mundo en 2012), el italiano Andrea Cucchi, (Top 8 mundial y vencedor del Defi Wind), la favorita Lena Erdil, de Turquía (Top 2 del mundo), los franceses Marion Mortefon (Top 3 mundial) y Antoine Questel (Top 7), el brasileño Gabriel Browne y la competitiva flota local.
“El sector turístico-deportivo forman un binomio perfecto para dinamizar e impulsar una zona turística como Costa Teguise, con unos recursos naturales que no lo tiene ningún spot de Canarias”, manifestó Oswaldo Betancort durante la presentación, en la que reiteró su compromiso con el mundo del windsurfing “como actividad que además de generar espectáculo, genera economía y empleo para el municipio, y por tanto, lo seguiremos apoyando”.
Por su parte, el organizador del evento, Eric Yoldjoglou, destacó “la idoneidad de Costa Teguise para practicar este tipo de deportes durante el invierno y la repercusión mundial que tiene gracias a los vídeos que cuelgan los riders en la redes sociales”.
