► Shibamata Taishakuten is a Buddhist temple in eastern Tokyo that was founded in 1629. I visited this temple for the first time today, and it instantly became a new favorite place of mine. Offering not just a well kept temple, but also a gorgeous little garden in which you can walk around on a woodden bridge, zig-zagging its way through the garden. (and this is pretty convenient, as you are asked to leave your shoes outside before entering the temple grounds.) Last, but not least, there is a small museum attached to the place, where you can see the most amazingly detailed woodcarvings of old Japanese landscape and symbols. - Enjoy!

I went to Shibamata Taishakuten temple with my family. The temple is famous for the serial movie Otoko wa Tsuraiyo or It's tough being a man.
The main character, Tora-san lives near the Taishakuten temple in the movies.
Most of the movies have the same basic plot.
A traveling salesman Tora-san arrives in some remote town planning to sell his wares to the locals. He meets a local woman and falls in love with her. However, he usually ends up inadvertently helping bring her together with another man. He ends up being heartbroken at the end of the movie.
I like the movies and watched them many times, but had never been Taishakuten temple before. We visited Tora-san museum, sweets shop Toraya and Taishakuten temple.
Its a really wonderful town.
Tora-san fans should visit the town.

This is a route to Shibamata Taishakuten from Keisei Kanamachi Line Shibamata Station.
There is a bronze statue of Torajiro KURUMA who is nicknamed as Tora-san. It is in Shibamata, Katsushika Ward, where is the setting for the movie 'Otoko Wa Tsurai Yo(It's Tough Being a Man). The routine starts in front of the bronze.

葛飾柴又への日帰り旅行をしました。
寅さんの故郷として知られているのは周知の通りです。
この柴又帝釈天は僕自身の中では最も好きなお寺と参道の一つです。
今回この後初めて山本亭と矢切の渡しを訪れました。
山本亭はなかなか居心地の良い場所でひとしきり撮影をした後ここで抹茶と和菓子を
頂いて、中を写真撮影しました。
元は光学機器を取り扱い会社の社長さんの個人宅だった物で大正末期から昭和初期の様式を伝える遺産です。
矢切の渡しは演歌で有名ですが、初めてこういうところだと言うのを実地に見ました。
当時の農民の通勤手段だったと言うことで反対側の現在の千葉県松戸市に彼らの農地があったと言うことでした。これも初めて知る知識でした。
I visited the town Katsushika-Shibamata in Katsushika ward,Tokyo metropolis
where is well known as a hometown of Tora-san(Torajiro) the most famous character from a series of films 男はつらいよ(Otoko-wa-Tsuraiyo)which means like It's hard to live as a man.
He was determined in the film as a man who was born in Katsushika-Shibamata and a longstanding tripper all over Japan and who sometimes comes back to his homeland in which his most lovable younger sister Sakura.
In the center of this town,there is the temple Shibamata-taisyakuten(柴又帝釈天）which is considered as a symbol of this area.
This temple is so famous countrywide because of such a reason.
And after that,I visited the house which was once owned by the family Yamamoto.
Mr Yamamoto was the president of a company which deals in optical products.
These buildings are cultural heritages or properties managed by the local government of Katsushika.
I had a rest inside drinking a cup of a bit bitter green tea with a sweet which was made from
a sweet paste of reddish beans and a kind of finely mashed potato.
You can often find a set of tea and sweets in such a style which reminds us tea ceremony in some Japanese old fashioned house or garden.
At last,I visited Yagiri-no-watashi(矢切の渡し)which was a stop of ferry(almost a boat) to carry people to the other side of Edo-gawa river.
Those people were famers who had their field for agriculture on the other side of the river.
This is considered as transportation of a commute for the local in those days.

Otoko wa tsurai yo (男はつらいよ, C'est dur d'être un homme) est une série de films dramatiques japonais.
Elle relate les mésaventures de Tora-san (寅さん), un homme sensible n'ayant pas de chance en amour, devant faire face à diverses crises économiques, problème familiaux et autres malheurs.
La série compte 48 films, a commencé en 1969 et s'est terminée en 1995. Tous les films, à l'exception du troisième et du quatrième opus, ont été réalisés par Yoji Yamada.
■Synopsis
Presque tous les films ont la même histoire: Tora-San, un marchand ambulant, arrive dans une ville perdue pour vendre sa marchandise. Il rencontre une femme du coin, souvent une demoiselle en détresse, et lui demande de le trouver si jamais elle vient à Tokyo. Il rentre ensuite chez lui à Shibamata, dans Katsushika à Tokyo et se heurte à sa famille. La demoiselle vient visiter Tora-san et il tombe amoureux d'elle. Cependant, malgré ses efforts pour la séduire, elle finit avec un autre homme, ce qui lui brise le cœur.
