Yellow Alert Issued against Strong Wind in East China’s Longkou
A yellow alert was issued Saturday by the meteorological bureau of Longkou City of east China’s Shandong Province against strong gale.
Throughout the day, residents witnessed northeast wind of level-7 to level-8 above the sea area adjacent to the city; sometimes the gust reached up to level-9 even.
Police officers in Longkou Frontier Police Station (LFPS) instantly initiated the emergency plans. Approximately 1000 fishing boats in the LFPS-administrated areas have returned to ports.
The officers also came to the fishing port on Qimu Island where they checked the situation, and helped the fishermen to anchor their boats.
In addition, the passenger ships to sail from Longkou to Lyushun Port in northeast China's Liaoning Province has been cancelled due to bad weather conditions. More on:
