BIGGEST Fish Market! | Exploring Guangzhou Fish Market in China for Seafood | Lobster & King Crab
While traveling in Guangzhou China, we discovered one of the world’s biggest fish market and quite possibly the largest fish market in China. It was an absolutely incredible experience to see the different kinds of live fish, live shellfish, and live seafood on display in crystal clear tanks.
This is probably the Tsukiji Market of China as there were literally hundreds of different varieties of fish and seafood scattered throughout the market. The awesome part about this fish market is that the tanks looked super clean and well maintained, as all the live fish we saw at the seafood market looked lively and healthy. Since the proximity of the fish market is so close to the Zhujiang River, it’s quite easy for the large fishing vessels and fishermen to unload their fresh catch right at the market, which ensures that the fish and seafood remain incredibly fresh.
While it is a wholesale fish market, since many Guangzhou restaurants and businesses come to purchase their seafood here, the public is welcome to come and even purchase. We saw many local Chinese have the vendors slice up super fresh salmon fillets to take home.
If you are a seafood lover or just want to see the incredible variety of unique fish on offer, we highly encourage you to visit this gigantic Chinese fish market next time you are in Guangzhou, China! In the meantime, hope you enjoy this fish market video!
Some interesting fresh fish and live seafood we saw at the wholesale fish market in Guangzhou
• Cold water lobsters such as Maine Lobster and Warm water lobsters such as Spiny Lobster, Rock Lobster, Caribbean lobster, and Giant Rainbow Lobster
• Geoduck Clam – a giant saltwater clam that looks like a large appendage but tastes amazing
• Several varieties of live crab such as King Crab, huge Dungeness Crabs, Shanghai Crab, Snow Crab, blue crab, blue swimmer crab, and flower crab
• Live abalone still in their shell
• Live sea scallops still in shell
• Huge variety of live fish such as giant Groupers and salmon
• Razor Clams, Giant clam, and fresh cockles
• Live tiger shrimp
• Mantis shrimp – these incredible shrimp are known to have the biggest punch as their appendages can smash prey faster than a 0.22 bullet with speeds over 50 miles an hour
• Live oysters
• Live Goose Barnacles or Goose Neck Barnacles (Percebes)

Yingshang Hotel, Guangzhou, China, #HotelReviews
Yingshang Hotel, No. 76 Jinghui Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, China.
It is advertised as 3 starts. Of course on the pictures it looks great but in reality it is nothing special. I would say that for european standards it's 2 starts max.
The location on map is not correct! It took me 1h to find it as location from the booking services takes you to different metro station in the area where it's quite tough to find someone who speaks english. It is located next to Guangxiao Temple, close to Ximenkou (at north) Line 1 (yellow) station.
Room is small but clean and tidy, shower is good as well with a hot water, wifi working well. You have to pay in a hotel by cash, only part of the staff speaks english.
The owner was very pushy when stopped me and wanted to see how I give them the highest score on Trip Advisor.
