Route from Cody, WY to Yellowstone in 13 min. May 2017
Some famous people whose opinions really count, feel the same. President Theodore Roosevelt called the stretch of highway between Cody, Wyoming and the East Gate of Yellowstone National Park “the fifty most beautiful miles in America”.
Named the Scenic Byway of Highway 20, aka the Wapiti Valley, the road is wedged into a valley shaped by the flow of the Shoshone River. The swath of wildness is charged with history and scenery. The Buffalo Bill Dam/Reservoir and Buffalo Bill State Park were worth the drive alone.

East Yellowstone Exit - Interstate 20 to Cody Wyoming
Wyoming's total population is just a little more than 560,000. That's smaller than the population of many cities, this is the real West, waiting to be explored and enjoyed. The amazing changes is geography is just starting as we descend from Yellowstone National Park to Cody, Wyoming, where not long ago Buffalo Bill rode and put on Wild West Shows.
Red rock formations and canyons still have wild mustangs (horses) roaming and grizzly bears are found in the high country while pronghorn antelope are in the plains.
Natural gas exploration has been driving Wyoming economy recently but it's the natural beauty at every turn that I will remember of Wyoming, it would be a great place to rent an RV and tour around for a couple of weeks, just getting away from it all. Listening to coyotes at night by a campfire, seeing the stars, fly fishing small streams in the high country and remembering that we all need an escape, back to nature.
Best Place to Vacation/Stay Near Yellowstone National Park - UXU Ranch near Cody Wyoming
From scenic horseback riding, fishing (the video was taken in May the water will settle down and be crystal clear after the spring run-off is done), hiking, wildlife, photography, great food, peace and quiet, and genuine cowboys and cowgirls that can tell you a yarn or two.
The UXU Ranch is nestled between the Washakie Wilderness to the South and the North Absaroka Wilderness to the North (wilderness.net for more information about wilderness) along the North fork of the Shoshone River and in the Shoshone National Forest. Just West of the UXU Ranch is Mummy Cave (while heading towards Yellowstone from UXU when you come to the first bridge after UXU Ranch park at the parking area on the right just before the bridge. The cave is easily found by following the trail to the small wooden fence.
My time there was greatly enhanced by taking a 2 hour horse back ride on Friday and a 1 hour horseback ride on Saturday. The views were amazing and they have options for trails of all skill levels. They also have options up to an all day horseback ride (or even multiple days). Currently (as of May 2018) the price for the 1 hour ride was $45 and the 2 hour ride was $65 which honestly was a bargain as I really enjoyed my time with Pooch (the cowboy in front of me) and his daughter Sherry. I definitely felt like Billy Crystal in City Slickers with how smooth the two of them looked while riding a horse but the two of them made me feel nothing but confidence despite not having been on a horse since the early 1990's.
If you go, which I recommend you do, tell them Captain America sent you! You can make reservations, or call, via their website uxuranch.com and trust me when I say you won't forget a vacation at that ranch. Plus, Theodore Roosevelt is claimed to have stated that from Cody to the East Entrance of Yellowstone is the 50 most beautiful miles in America and this Ranch is very much a part of that stretch for good reason!

Road Trip to Grand Tetons || Yellowstone National Park || Mount Rushmore
Recently I came across a treasure trove of old videos - shaky footage, not at all stable, but certainly contained a lot of substance. These were taken during the myriad trips that I was a part of while I was working in the States. I thought of making an attempt to put together some clips to reflect upon the lovely experiences that I had gathered in the process.
So much so that I decided to come up with a Lost and Found video series :)

Lost and Found : Tetons & Yellowstone

My trips to the Midwest and Mountains in the States. We completed a grand road trip starting at Denver - Grand Tetons - Yellowstone NP - Cody - Devil's Tower - Mt. Rushmore to Denver. Words cannot express the enchanting beauty of Mother Nature that we were lucky enough to witness on this journey.
Hope you enjoy this video.

Wyoming Travel Vlog
Wyoming is a vast and wide open land of beauty and wonder. There were a lot of times during this trip that we were driving and I very much wanted to stop and get video or time lapses of a scene. From epic rain clouds across the sky to sunlight shinning through the clouds and creating brilliant light rays. Everywhere we went there were huge mountain ranges - some with snow at the tops. Yellowstone was one of the places we visited on this trip and it was a nice and peaceful place to stay. We never ran into any dangerous animals like wolves or bears, but we did see a lot of buffalo and elk everywhere we went in the park. We did see one baby bear on the side of the road and all of the tourists were stopping to take photos of it. We went hiking and saw a lot of hot springs. It was a great trip. Traveling is the best. I'm writing all of this to help SEO lol.
