Ardross is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Melville. It was once an area of land acquired by the Scotsman, Sir Alexander Percival Matheson in 1896. In Matheson's subdivision of the adjoining suburb of Applecross, he created Ardross Street naming it after either the town of Ardrossan on the Scottish west coast or Ardross Castle, located about 40 kilometers north of Inverness. The suburb derives its name from this street.

Cottesloe is a western suburb of Perth, Western Australia, within the Town of Cottesloe. Cottesloe was named for Thomas Fremantle, 1st Baron Cottesloe, a prominent Tory politician and the brother of Admiral Sir Charles Fremantle for whom the city of Fremantle was named. The nearby suburb of Swanbourne was named for the Fremantle family seat, Swanbourne House, in Swanbourne, Buckinghamshire. Cottesloe was home to Australian Prime Minister John Curtin. The house he built still stands in Jarrad Street. It is now vested jointly in the National Trust of Australia and Curtin University.

The Jacaranda Trees Of Applecross

Applecross is an affluent riverside suburb of Perth, Western Australia, bounded by Canning Highway and the Swan River. &only 7 Klm from the CBD of Perth.
The suburb of Applecross takes its name from the Applecross peninsula on the northwest coast of Scotland. Many of the streets in the suburb have names from the area.
A distinguishing feature of the suburb is the jacaranda trees that line its streets and flower in the late spring. In keeping with this theme, Applecross is home to an annual Jacaranda festival in late November.
A number of well known landmarks and facilities are in Applecross. These include:

Bien qu'assez isolée, Perth est une des villes favorites des Australiens. La ville, sa façon tranquille de vivre et ses environs, exercent une grande force d'attraction. Situation
La ville se trouve dans le sud-ouest de l'Australie au bord de la rivière Swan qui se jette dans l'océan Indien. La rivière Swan doit son nom aux cygnes noirs qui y vivent. La côte est plate mais à l'est de Perth ondulent les collines de Darling Range. L'autre grande ville australienne proche est Adélaïde, à 2 700 kilomètres (!) à l'est.

Economie
Perth doit son existence à la grande quantité de matières premières naturelles présentes en Western Australia. L'état a une énorme réserve d'or, de minerai de fer, de nickel, d'alun, de diamant, de pétrole et de gaz. Les bureaux des entreprises minières sont installés à Perth. Leurs produits sont embarqués dans deux ports : Fremantle à l'embouchure de la rivière Swan au sud-ouest du centre ville et Cockburn Sound plus au sud. De plus, Perth est la capitale de Western Australia , il y travaille donc un certain nombre d'habitants pour les autorités. C'est aussi un centre d'enseignement, l'université de Western Australia possède quelques-uns des meilleurs centres de recherches d'Australie.
