Welcome to birthplace of democracy! Greece is one of the oldest and most influential civilizations in the world. I have visited three times and covered many destinations, From the mainland, to the islands. I've also sampled an array of foods, from seafood to hardy meats, wines and delicious cheeses. Here is my list of top 10 places to visit in Greece, a country unlike any other on earth.
1. Athens - Let's start with Athens, the capital of Greece and one of the oldest cities in the world.
2. Delphi - A two and a half hour drive from Athens brings you to what the ancient world considered both the spiritual and physical center of the universe.
3. Epidavros - A two-hour drive from Athens to eastern Peloponnese brings us to #3 on my list and one of the ancient world's most amazing civic structures: The Theatre of Epidavros.
4. Sounion - Number 4 on my list is the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion.
5. Rhodes Island - Rhodes is one of the largest of all the Greek islands.
6. Symi Island - An hour by ferryboat will bring you to the tiny but beautiful island of Symi.
7. Kos Island - Kos is home to the Asklepion, one of the world’s first healing centers, as well as the ancient tree under which Hippocrates taught his pupils.
8. Kalymnos Island - Traditionally known as the island of the sponge divers, Kalymians now enjoy living in one of Europe’s most illustrious rock climbing destinations.
9. Santorini Island - Its iconic blue and white houses and dramatic cliffs make it visually stunning at every turn.
10. Meteora - Meteora, which literally translates into ‘suspended in the air’ alluding to the medieval monasteries perched on top of rock pillars in this strange and beautiful landscape.

Arta is a city in northwestern Greece, in Epirus. Famous for the medieval bridge over the Arachthos River and its ancient sites from the era of Pyrrhus of Epirus and its well preserved 13th century castle. Close to the bridge, there is a centenarian plane tree, from 1976 characterized as a preserved natural monument. The beautiful dense leaves extend more than 200 m2. Also worth visiting is the famous Byzantine church of Panagia Parigoritissa, built in the 13th century.

Monemvasia (Greek: Μονεμβασία) is a town and a municipality in Laconia, Greece. The town is located on a small island off the east coast of the Peloponnese. The island is linked to the mainland by a short causeway 200m in length. Its area consists mostly of a large plateau some 100 metres above sea level, up to 300 m wide and 1 km long, the site of a powerful medieval fortress. The town walls and many Byzantine churches remain from the medieval period. The seat of the municipality is the town Molaoi.
The town's name derives from two Greek words, mone and emvasia, meaning single entrance. Its Italian form, Malvasia, gave its name to Malmsey wine. Monemvasia's nickname is the Gibraltar of the East or The Rock.

The Dream Land Of Djibouti
English: In antiquity, the territory was part of the Land of Punt. The Djibouti area, along with other localities in the Horn region, was later the seat of the medieval Adal and Ifat Sultanates. In the late 19th century, the colony of French Somaliland was established following treaties signed by the ruling Issa Somali and Afar Sultans with the French. It was subsequently renamed to the French Territory of the Afars and the Issas in 1967. A decade later, the Djiboutian people voted for independence, officially marking the establishment of the Republic of Djibouti.
French: Dans l'antiquité, le territoire appartenait au pays de Pount. La région de Djibouti, ainsi que d'autres localités de la région de la corne, fut ensuite le siège des sultanats de Ifat et Adal médiévale.
