Monte San Giorgio - UNESCO World Heritage Site
Our visit to the UNESCO World Heritage archaeological museum at Monte San Giorgio in northern Italy. This is a famous fossil-rich environment, where many different species have been found, such as plants, lizards, fish, and invertebrates. Unfortunately we weren't able to get to the actual mountain due to remoteness and rain, but the museum was excellent and well worth the visit!

Trafalgar Square, London | DDLJ was filmed here ! Must Visit in London
This is Trafalgar Square in central London. The place is often seen in Indian movies from DDLJ to Jab tak hai Jaan.
The most famous scene of an Indian movie shot here is that of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) - the opening scene where Amrish Puri is feeding pigeons early morning before going to his shop.

The Shankaracharya Temple also known as the Jyesteshwara temple or Pas-Pahar, is located in Srinagar, Kashmir. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is located on the summit of the same name at a height of 1,000 feet (300 m) above the plain, and is overlooking the city of Srinagar. The temple dates back to 200 BC, although the present structure probably dates back to the 9th century AD. The temple was visited by the Adishankaracharya and has ever since been associated with him. Furthermore, it is regarded as being sacred by Buddhists, who call the mandir Pas-Pahar.The temple was originally built by Sandiman, who reigned in Kashmir from 2629 to 2564 BC. It was repaired by King Gopaditya (426 -- 365 BC) and by King Lalitaditya (697--734). Its roof was also repaired by Zain-ul-Abidin after an earthquake; later, its dome was repaired by Sheikh Ghulam Mohiuddin, a Sikh Governor (1841--1846).
Srinagar is the summer capital of the Indian administered state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated in the Kashmir Valley and lies on the banks of the Jhelum River, a tributary of the Indus. The city is famous for its gardens, lakes and houseboats. It is also known for traditional Kashmiri handicrafts and dry fruits. Srinagar has a long history, dating back at least to the 3rd century BC, and has been known by different names. The city was founded by the King Pravarasena II over 2,000 years ago, named it Parvasenpur. The city was then a part of the Maurya Empire, one of the largest empires of the Indian subcontinent. Ashoka introduced Buddhism to the Kashmir valley, and the adjoining regions around the city became a centre of Buddhism. In the 1st century, the region was under the control of Kushans and several rulers of this dynasty strengthened the Buddhist tradition.[citation needed] Vikramaditya (of Ujjain) and his successors probably ruled the regions just before the city fell to the control of the Huns in the 6th century, and Mihirkula was the most dreaded ruler of the city and the valley.
The city is located on both the sides of the Jhelum River which is called Vyath in Kashmir. The river passes through the city and meanders through the valley, moving onward and deepening in the dal Lake. The city is famous for its nine old bridges, connecting the two parts of the city. Srinagar has a humid subtropical climate, with a climate much cooler than what is found in much of the rest of India, due to its moderately high elevation and northerly position. The valley is surrounded by Himalayas on all sides. Winters are cool and temperature remains below freezing at night. Moderate to heavy snowfall is expected in winters and the only road that connects Srinagar with the rest of India may get blocked a few days due to avalanche
Srinagar is one of several places that have been called the Venice of the East or the Kashmiri Venice. It is known for its lakes, which include Dal Lake -- noted for its houseboats -- and Nagin Lake. Srinagar has some Mughal gardens, forming a part of those laid by the Mughal emperors across the Indian subcontinent. Those of Srinagar and its close vicinity include Chashma Shahi (the royal fountains); Pari Mahal (the palace of the fairies); Nishat Bagh (the garden of spring); Shalimar Bagh; and the Naseem Bagh. The Tulip Gardens have been recently opened to public by Sonia Gandhi. The Sher Garhi Palace houses administrative buildings from the state government. Another palace of the Maharajas, the Gulab Bhavan, has now become the Lalit Grand Palace hotel.

Betaab valley is situated at a distance of 15 kilometers from Pahalgam in Anantnag district in India's northernmost state of Jammu and Kashmir. The valley got its name from the Sunny Deol-Amrita Singh hit debut film Betaab.The Valley is towards northeast of Pahalgam and falls between Pahalgam and Chandanwadi and is en route Amarnath Temple Yatra. The valley surrounded by lush green meadows, snow clad mountains and covered with dense vegetation.
Betab Valley is a very popular touristic destination. Betaab Valley is also a favorite campsite of travelers as it also serves as a base camp for trekking and further exploration of the mountains. The valley is a walk-able distance from Pahalgam. The crystal clear & chilly water of the stream bubbling down from the snowy hills is a delight; locals here drink this water too. Baisaran and Tulian Lake are few nearby attractions that can be visited.
Nishat Bagh Beautiful Mughal Gardens Srinagar Kashmir India *HD*
Nishat Bagh, Srinagar, Kashmir, India - Nishat Bagh, Garden of Joy, Garden of Gladness and Garden of Delight, is a terraced Mughal garden built on the eastern side of the Dal Lake, close to Srinagar in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is the second largest Mughal garden in the Kashmir Valley. The largest in size is the Shalimar Bagh, which is also located on the bank of the Dal Lake.
Nishat Bagh was built by Asif Khan, brother of Emperor Jahangir's wife Nur Jahan in 1633. This splendid garden is located on the banks of Dal Lake, with Zabarwan mountains as its backdrop. There are a total of twelve terraced lawns in the garden. The garden spreads across 6.20 hectares (15.3 acres) and is located at a distance of 11 km from the Tourist Reception Centre.

Mukteshwar Temple - Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple - Mukteshwar Dham -
Mukteshwar gets its name from an 350 year old temple to Shiva, known as Mukteshwar Dham, situated atop the highest point in the town. The Mukteshwar temple has a white marble Shivling with a copper yoni. The Shivling is surrounded by idols of Brahma, Vishnu, Parvati, Hanuman, Ganesh and Nandi. As narrated in Puranas, it is one of the eighteen main temples of Lord Shiva.
Since ancient times the Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple has been a place of worship for iron ore miners as Agaries. The followers of Maheshwar community who worship Lakulis as their god and conducted important rituals and ceremonies here. It is also believed that couples longing to be blessed for a child with mud lamps in their hand also offer prayers here.
Mukteshwar Temple is at an altitude of 2,312 m and can be approached by stone stairs.
Chauli Ki Jali - Chauthi Jaali
Nice scenery can be viewed from Chaulli ki Jaali, where rocks jut out from the hill face at a bizarre angle.
Chauli ka Jali is situated adjacent to the Mukteshwar temple in the hilltop of the calm and seclude city of Mukteshwar. as per mythology, it is believed that a Demon and a Goddess fought a battle in this place, and there are faint outlines of a sword, a shield and a trunk of an elephant which stands as the testament of the battle.
