Nebraska to California: A Complete Road Trip
Take a tour through 10 states and 2,420 miles, including through the following parks: Badlands N.P., Custer S.P., Mt. Rushmore N.M., Devils Tower N.M., Yellowstone N.P., Grand Teton N.P., Bryce Canyon N.P., and Zion N.P. This was recorded at 4fps between August 16-19, 2017. The first day was from Bellevue, NE to Rapid City, SD. Day 2 was from Rapid City, SD to Pocatello, ID. Day 3 was from Pocatello, ID to Las Vegas, NV, and Day 4 was from Las Vegas, NV to Santa Monica, CA. Each day's drive started before sunrise, and with the exception of the drive between western Iowa and central SD during which it rained, the weather was very good.
The states passed through are:
Nebraska: 0:00:22 to 0:01:41
Iowa: 0:01:41 to 0:24:08
Minnesota: 0:24:08 to 0:27:00
South Dakota: 0:27:00 to 1:43:22
Wyoming: 1:43:22 to 3:09:06
Idaho: 3:09:06 to 3:31:43
Utah: 3:31:43 to 4:36:53
Arizona: 4:36:53 to 4:40:18
Nevada: 4:40:18 to 4:57:45
California: 4:57:45 to 5:26:20
The hottest temperature of this trip was 104 F (40 C) in Las Vegas, Nevada (about 4:49:24), and the coldest temperature of this trip was 48 F (9 C) in Pocatello, Idaho (about 3:24:12).
The highest elevation (9,666ft or 2,946m) was at Powder River Pass in the Bighorn Mountains (at 44.15N, 107.07W, about 2:10:43), and the lowest elevation (17ft or 5m) was at Santa Monica beach at the very end.
This trip was part of a six-day, 4,400-mile drive between Omaha, Nebraska and Santa Monica, California, and then back to Omaha. The Santa Monica to Omaha video is part of the CA-NY video.
Wildwood, MO to Aurora, CO - A Complete Real Time Road Trip
This is Day 2 of my road trip from Washington, DC to Seattle, WA, done in real-time. Day 2 is from Wildwood, MO to Denver, CO (near the airport). This video is virtually unedited except for stops.
Day 1 can be found here:
Day 3 can be found here:
Day 4 can be found here:
The states passed through are
Missouri (0:00:11-3:19:40)
Kansas (3:19:40-8:55:22)
Colorado (8:55:22-11:05:16)
California to New York: A Complete Road Trip
This is a complete road trip compilation from Santa Monica, California to New York City over eight different days from June-September, 2017 - all recorded in time-lapse at 4fps (nearly 100,000 frames total). Of the 3,253 miles (5,235 kilometers) driven, about 3 miles of this drive is missing, mostly in Colorado near Poncha Springs. Nearly all of this drive was done in daytime, but there is about 10 minutes of this video done in darkness in Arizona (about 1:00:00 to 1:10:00). The weather was good for the most part, except from Pennsylvania all the way to the Bronx, before clearing up in Manhattan. This trip also includes driving through the solar eclipse of August 21 in Nebraska (at about 3:30:00), as well as driving over the old Tappan Zee Bridge in upstate NY, which permanently closed a month later with the opening of the new Mario M Cuomo Bridge adjacent to it.
The states passed through are
California (0:00:35-0:40:54)
Arizona (0:40:54-1:40:26)
New Mexico (1:40:26-1:41:09)
Colorado (1:41:09-3:07:17)
Nebraska (3:07:17-3:51:05)
Iowa (3:51:05-4:24:17)
Illinois (4:24:17-4:50:42)
Indiana (4:50:42-5:10:51)
Ohio (5:10:51-5:39:13)
West Virginia (5:39:13-5:40:48 & 5:47:09-5:51:52)
Pennsylvania (5:40:48-5:47:09 & 6:04:43-6:32:49)
Maryland (5:51:52-6:04:43)
New York (6:32:49-6:50:03)
The highest elevation of the drive was 11,539 ft (3,517 m) at 2:28:10. The highest elevation anywhere on the U.S. interstate system is 11,158 ft (3,401 m) at 2:33:41. Both of these elevations are two of the three continental divide crossings; the other, at 2:04:38 (10,856 ft / 3,309 m), is the first.
The hottest temperature of this trip was 110 F (43 C) in Needles, California (about 0:40:16), and the coldest temperature of this trip was 53 F (11 C) in Tusayan, Arizona (about 1:10:04) - only about 230 miles (370 km) from Needles.

A Beautiful West Coast Road Trip (San Diego, CA to Vancouver, BC)
This trip begins in San Diego, but ends in Vancouver. This road trip is the best that can be offered of the west coast, especially of the Pacific Coast Highway. This video includes nearly the entire Pacific Coast Highway, from Dana Point to Leggett, with the exception of the stretch between San Simeon and Lucia due to road closure (because of mud/rock slides). The Pacific Ocean can frequently be seen from San Diego to Southwest Washington; after which, the road trip turns inland through Seattle and then up to Vancouver. I'd wanted to begin this trip in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, but I abandoned the idea when I found out the morning that I began this trip (less than 2 km from the Mexican border) that the border crossing waits were over an hour.
States/province passed through are:
California: (0:00:22-5:53:25)
Oregon: (5:53:25-7:42:25)
Washington: (7:42:25-9:04:30)
British Columbia: (9:04:30-9:14:42)
The highest elevation of this drive is 813 m in Monterey County at N36° 0' 39.1, W121° 27' 21.1 (2:34:59). The lowest elevation is at sea level multiple times throughout this video. With the exception of the detour away from the Pacific Coast Highway in San Luis Obispo and Monterey Counties, the temperatures throughout this trip ranged from 51-63 F (10-17 C) between San Diego and Vancouver. I recorded a temperature of 86 F (30 C0 on US-101 near San Miguel, CA, which is the warmest temperature of this trip.
Day 1 of the real-time drive:
Day 2 of the real-time drive:
Day 3 of the real-time drive:
Day 4 of the real-time drive:
On another note, the Canada/U.S. border crossing of I-5/BC-99 is the busiest of all of the U.S./Canada crossing, but I only had about a 2-minute wait to cross into Canada; But I had a 45 minute wait to cross back into the U.S. just two hours later.
