Paris is the capital of France and the Ile de France region. Incorporated in the only unidepartamental commune in the country, is situated on both banks of a long loop of the Seine River in the center of the Paris Basin, between the confluence of the River Marne and Seine upstream and Oise and Seine, downstream.
The city of Paris within its administrative limits with a population of 2,243,833 inhabitants (2010). However, during the twentieth century, the Paris metropolitan area expanded beyond the limits of the municipality of Paris, and is today Europe's fifth largest city and the second metropolitan area with a population of 12 223 100 inhabitants (2010).
The city is the most popular tourist destination in the world with over 42 million foreign visitors per year. It features many of the most famous and admired monuments of the world: the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, the Sacré Cœur, the former Hospital of the Invalides, the Pantheon the Arch of Defense, the Opera Garnier and Montmartre, among others. It also hosts world-renowned institutions: the Louvre (the most famous and most visited museum in the world), the Orsay Museum and the National Museum of Natural History France, as well as an extensive system of higher education of international standing.

Quiet Sunny Sunday Afternoon -- France
This is a very short clip of a walk down Rue du Docteur Gachet in Auvers-sur-Oise, France. The doctor knew Vincent van Gogh at the end of his life. The doctor's house is a museum you can visit for free from March through October, and it's closed Mondays and Tuesdays. It's very pretty and Vincent van Gogh and Paul Cézanne are two artists I can think of who painted in the garden at the house.
Sundays in France tend to be quiet and devoted to resting, and spending time with friends and family. Most businesses are closed.
Although this afternoon in August was hot and dry, I appreciated that it was so peaceful. There are plenty of Vincent van Gogh-related things to see and do here, and a wonderful absinthe museum, too. Several famous Impressionist painters lived and worked here and in the area, which is about an hour away from Paris and on the river Oise.

I saw a couple of gîtes (furnished flats or houses) on this street and both looked very good, with fair prices. GITES DE FRANCE is one place you could begin looking if you are interested in renting one. Once you do it a few times you get good at it and it can be cost-effective, comfortable and a more authentic way to stay somewhere than a hotel or bed and breakfast.
A Church Painted by Vincent van Gogh
This church is themed around the Assumption of the Virgin, and is smallish, but the terrain in Auvers-sur-Oise, France is not flat so may have limited what they could do. This is several centuries old, of course, and I did make a couple of clips inside to give you an idea of the Gothic style architecture. I do two channels on YouTube and also post things on Dailymotion under LisaFalour.
The church has a lot of detail work on the outside -- there are little heads of people, devils, and animals, and decorative motifs featuring waves, which is rather unusual considering there is no water nearby except for the Oise river below.
Auvers-sur-Oise became a popular bedroom community and tourist destination for Parisians around 1842 or so, when an early train line opened. It was possible even then to make the journey in only one hour, so people came from the city for the day a lot to fish, boat, stroll, and dine, and if they could manage it, they had country places here. A commute was actually possible if you really wanted to do that.
I spotted several gîtes (furnished flats and houses) for rent here and if you want rowdy nightlife and rubbing elbows with a lively crowd, Auvers is definitely not for you. If you want the wild beauty which many Impressionist artists painted and a great deal of quiet, you'll find this a restful, inspiring place.
You can get here from Paris by train still, or visit by automobile as I did. Not far from L'Isle Adam and Pontoise, it's got plenty going for it. Just no hustle and bustle at all!

El día de hoy compartiré mi visita al Café des Deux Moulins de Paris, nos acompaña nuestra amiga Jessica.. Espero les agrade y nos dejen sus comentarios
Este café y restaurante está ubicado en la Rue Lepic, en el barrio de Montmartre, el nombre del local se debe a que se encuentra en medio de dos molinos: el Moulin Rouge y el Moulin de la Galette.
Este café parisino abrió sus puertas a principios del siglo XX, fue escenario para filmar algunas películas de cine, pero se hizo muy famoso a partir del éxito de la película francesa de Jean-Pierre Jeunet : Amelie. Fue este café el escenario donde se desarrolló y filmó la película, la cual fue nominada a cuatros premios Oscar y ganó varios premios César; es un lugar muy visitado por cinéfilos y fans de Amelie.
El café está decorado con objetos utilizados para la grabación y exhibe un póster enmarcado de la película.
El café es sencillo, pero por su ubicación y su participación en la historia del cine, resulta muy interesante para visitar; además los precios son asequibles.
