The Whistle and Flute

Barnetby le Wold is a small rural village and civil parish in North Lincolnshire, England, located between Brigg and Immingham. The village is also nearby to the market town of Barton Upon-Humber. The population of the village in 2001 was 1,593. This increased by 148 to 1,741 in the 2011 census. It is estimated that the current population is nearer the 2,000 mark.The village is widely known for the railway station which serves the village and surrounding area. The local MP is Andrew Percy for the constituency of Brigg and Goole.

Barnetby Railway Station, North Lincolnshire, England - 2nd January, 2015

Barnetby railway station serves the village of Barnetby-le-Wold in North Lincolnshire, England. The station area still (2015) uses semaphore signals. It is operated by First TransPennine Express, with East Midlands Trains and Northern Rail also serving the station. Barnetby railway station is unstaffed, and is popular with railway enthusiasts for the freight which passes through, much of which is coming or going to Immingham Docks. Barnetby is quite possible the busiest location for freight in the U.K .
On this Visit we got a load of Sheds ( Class 66 ) and a small selection of units .
Of Interest was the Very late running colas Scunthorpe - Wollsingham coal train
