【Part 1】28-29/4/2019 Train ride from KL Sentral to Gurun via Taiping
I planned to spot Eastern & Oriental Express last southbound trip before the train go for yearly general maintenance at Bekok. But due to several unexpected factors, I change the spotting to Gurun. I also very lucky can invite my best friend, Henry Xi Heng Lee to spot together with me. We take different ETS train but same northern commuter train to Gurun. I go Taiping again as I previously plan to take a ride on board refurbished Class 81. Unfortunately, it is not at northern area. I also lucky to get ETS 211(2nd batch Class 93) at Tanjung Malim.

My trip on the 5th to final day of KTMB Ekspres Peninsular Train plying Hadyai Thailand and JB Sentral vise versa.
The journey were from JB Sentral to Sungai Petani which took around 16 hours through Peninsular Malaysia.
I was in the ADNS Superior Berth Coach which is a great place to be for such a long trip.
That day Ekspres Peninsular was pulled by a KTMB Class 25 GM Canada Locomotive, 25108 Pulau Pangkor.
It was an emotional journey since I was among the few final passengers that has been in the now no more Train Service in Malaysia.
The so called Intercity Trains had been replaced by the ETS services which is much faster but more costly and a bit hassle, since the fare is quite high and the passenger has to shift to a shuttle Train at Gemas Station if they wants to continue the journey to JB Sentral vise versa.
Ekspres Peninsular will gonna be missed by many since it was a good travel mode with most of the Malaysian Train Tradition.

Tanjong Pagar railway station (Chinese: 丹戎巴葛火车总站; Malay: Stesen Keretapi Tanjong Pagar), also called Keppel Road railway station or Singapore railway station, was until 30 June 2011 the southern terminus of the network operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM), the main railway operator in Malaysia. The land on which the station and the KTM railway tracks are situated was held by KTM on a 999-year lease. The station closed on 30 June 2011 and the Woodlands Train Checkpoint took over as terminus for KTM's Singapore services from 1 July 2011.
The main building of the railway station was gazetted as a national monument on 9 April 2011. The closure of the line between Tanjong Pagar and the Woodlands checkpoint was done without any public consultation and announced only after the decision had been taken. Though supported by some, the closure was opposed and lamented by others as representing a great loss of Singapore's heritage and of a key public transportation facility. Following closure, Singapore has less than a kilometre of main railway line, from Woodlands to Johor Bahru across the Straits of Johor.
Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) (Jawi: كريتاڤي تانه ملايو) or Malayan Railways Limited is the main rail operator in Peninsular Malaysia. The railway system dates back to the British colonial era, when it was first built to transport tin. Previously known as the Federated Malay States Railways (FMSR) and the Malayan Railway Administration (MRA), Keretapi Tanah Melayu acquired its current name in 1962. The organization was corporatized in 1992, but remains wholly owned by the Malaysian government. Fares are generally reasonable, but the low frequency of the intercity trains does not usually make them competitive with other modes of transportation.
The 1,000 mm (3 ft 3 3⁄8 in) gauge railway network in Peninsular Malaysia which is controlled by KTMB consists of two main lines and several branch lines.
All of the lines in the KTM network are single-track, except for the section of the main line between Ipoh railway station and Seremban railway station, and also the branch lines from Port Klang Komuter station to Batu Caves Komuter station and from Sungai Gadut Komuter station to Tanjung Malim railway station, which is now double tracked and electrified to 25 kV AC, to accommodate electric commuter trains, the KTM Class 92.
KTM Intercity (Malay: KTM Antarabandar) is an intercity passenger railway service operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu within the regions of Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore. The service is intended to carry patrons between stops serving cities, town and village (depending on regions), its trains currently powered by diesel locomotives.
KTM Intercity services consist of local trains (known also as mail trains) and express trains; lines along the West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia currently support mostly express trains, while those along the East Coast include both mail train and express train services.

This is my journey from Ipoh to KL in the ktmb ekspres sinaran utara, standing in front of the door right behind the class 25 ktmb locomotive . Here you can see the rear side of the locomotive, which has the registered number of 25202. You can here the sound of this Diesel Electric mainline locomotives, model GT18LC-2 manufactured by General Motors in Windsor, Ontario, Canada while it is building up its speed from the front most of the coaches (S1) at the area behind the gangway of a car(a place where you can step on the outside end part of it)

ETS Gold Train 2016
The KTM ETS, commercially known as ETS which stands for Electric Train Service, is an inter-city rail service operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad utilizing electric multiple units. The KTM ETS is the second electric train service to be operated by the Malaysian railway company, after the KTM Komuter service.
Launched in August 2010, the service originally operated between Ipoh and Seremban but the KL Sentral-Seremban sector was taken out of service in October 2012.[2]
The service was extended from Ipoh to Padang Besar via Butterworth, the mainland town opposite Penang, with the introduction of the ETS Transit on 10 July 2015, with stops at 24 stations. At the inception of service, only one train service in both directions were introduced. On the following day on 11 July 2015, the ETS Express between KL Sentral and Padang Besar, via Butterworth was introduced, with stops at 15 stations. Again, only one service for both directions were introduced
