Bredebro is a very small town with a population of 1,465 in Region of Southern Denmark in Denmark on the Jutland peninsula. The town was the original home of the ECCO shoe manufacturing company. Until January 1, 2007, Bredebro was also a municipality . The municipality covered an area of 151 km2, and had a total population of 3,680 . Its last mayor was Vagn Therkel Pedersen, a member of the Venstre political party. The municipality was created in 1970 as the result of a kommunalreform that combined the following parishes: Ballum, Brede, Randerup, Sønder, and Visby parishes.
