Bredebro is a very small town with a population of 1,465 in Region of Southern Denmark in Denmark on the Jutland peninsula. The town was the original home of the ECCO shoe manufacturing company. Until January 1, 2007, Bredebro was also a municipality . The municipality covered an area of 151 km2, and had a total population of 3,680 . Its last mayor was Vagn Therkel Pedersen, a member of the Venstre political party. The municipality was created in 1970 as the result of a kommunalreform that combined the following parishes: Ballum, Brede, Randerup, Sønder, and Visby parishes.   • 1. Jelling Mounds, Runic Stones and Church Jelling
    The Jelling stones are massive carved runestones from the 10th century, found at the town of Jelling in Denmark. The older of the two Jelling stones was raised by King Gorm the Old in memory of his wife Thyra. The larger of the two stones was raised by King Gorm's son, Harald Bluetooth, in memory of his parents, celebrating his conquest of Denmark and Norway, and his conversion of the Danes to Christianity. The runic inscriptions on these stones are considered the best known in Denmark.
