Brong-Ahafo is bordered to the north by the Black Volta River and to the east by the Lake Volta, and to the south by the Ashanti, Eastern and Western regions.The capital of Brong-Ahafo is Sunyani. Brong-Ahafo was created in 1958 from Bono State and named after the dominant and native inhabitants, Akans Brong and Ahafo.

1. Kintampo Falls Kintampo
Kintampo waterfalls is one of the highest waterfalls in Ghana. Also known as Sanders Falls during the colonial days, it is located on the Pumpum river, a tributary of the Black Volta, about 4 kilometres north of Kintampo municipality, on the Kumasi–Tamale road. This waterfall, one of the main natural attractions in the area, is hidden in the forest and it is formed by 3 main drops where the longest drop measures 25 metres in height, and, after a number of steps and cascades, the river falls about 70 metres .

Techiman is a town and is the capital of Techiman Municipal of the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. Techiman is a leading market town in South Ghana. Techiman is together with Sunyani, one of the two major cities and settlements of Brong Ahafo region. Techiman has a settlement population of 104,212 people in 2013.[1] Techiman is located at a historical crossroads of trade routes and the Tano River, and serves as capital of the Techiman Municipal District.The Akans, according to their oral tradition, migrated from Techiman to found the coastal Mankessim Kingdom and present Central region in 1252.[3] After Bono Manso, capital of the Bono state, was taken by the Ashanti Empire in 1723, then the Bono-Techiman state was founded in 1740 under Ashanti sovereignty.[3]The population has grown rapidly in recent decades, doubling between the 1970 and 1984 censuses, and again doubling by the next census in 2000. The estimate of 79,547 in 2007, is nine times the population that the town had in 1960.
Culture[edit]
Techiman has started the construction of a modern culture centre. The purpose of the centre is the preservation of the traditions of the Bono nation.[8] Techiman celebrates the annual Apoo in April/May – a kind of Mardi Gras. Before 2009, the celebration of Apoo had been suspended for several years due to the decease of the Bonoman king. The climax of the Apoo is the durbar of the king (Omanhene) through Techiman.[8] In August, an annual yam ceremony takes place and it marks the end of the yam production in the Brong-Ahafo Region towns of Techiman and Wenchi.[8]
Transport[edit]
Techiman is connected by road to Sunyani and its domestic airport, the Sunyani Airport.[3][8] Techiman is not yet serviced by a railway station on the Ghana Railway Corporation, and it has been proposed that a line be extended to Techiman. The Tano River is a navigable river.[8]
A study of traffic in Techiman in March 2007 found a breakdown of 34% for taxis, 31% for pedestrians, 10% for buses and vans, 7% for bicycles, 6% for motorbikes, 5% for cars and 7% for other modes of transportation. Of bicyclists, a focus of the study, 49% travelled for work, 18% for school, 14% for recreation and 6% for touring.[9]

Eastern Region of Ghana

The Eastern Region of Ghana is a rich blend of dramatic landscapes, historic relics and traditional cultures. The ancient blends with the 21th century in this region so close to but such a contrast with Accra.The region is dominated by Lake Volta, one of the world's largest man-made lakes, and the Akosombo Dam, source of much of Ghana's hydroelectric power. Both are worth a visit. A favourite excursion is the weekend trip to Dodi Islands.Other points of interests are the large area's of lush tropical forest and cascading waterfalls, the diamond mine at Akwatia, botanical gardens at Aburi and the Cocoa Research institute.

The Aboakyer Festival is celebrated by the Efutu of Winneba Traditional area along the Coast of Ghana. It takes place every May in the Coastal town-Winneba.

The Aboakyer festival is a deer hunting event organised in honour of the tribal god of the people of Winneba called “Penkye Otu”. The god receives an annual sacrifice of a deer from the people. The traditional deer hunt celebrates the migration of the local people from Timbuktu hundreds of years ago. The Festival used to involve a human sacrifice being brought to the deity of the town, but has now been replaced with catching and sacrificing of a live deer.

The hunting of the deer is done by the two main Asafo groups.
