Tyre (Arabic: صور), sometimes romanized as Sour, is a city in the South Governorate of Lebanon. Tyre juts out from the coast of the Mediterranean and is located about 80 km south of Beirut. The name of the city means rock after the rocky formation on which the town was originally built. The adjective for Tyre is Tyrian, and the inhabitants are Tyrians.
Tyre is an ancient Phoenician city and the legendary birthplace of Europa and Elissa (Dido). Today it is the fourth largest city in Lebanon and houses one of the nation's major ports. Tourism is a major industry. The city has a number of ancient sites, including its Roman Hippodrome which was added to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1979.

Visit Batroun
Batroun is a coastal city founded by the Phoenicians, located 50 km north of Beirut. The city is famous for its historical churches and sites some dating back to the 7th century.
Among the many archeological features of Batroun is St-Stephan’s Cathedral; It is considered to be among the biggest in Lebanon and overlooks the town harbor. In its old streets, a Phoenician fortress and a theatre excavated by the Romans from which only eleven steps remain.
Along the charming coast of the city lay many beaches and resorts, along with a bundle of restaurants serving a variety of food ranging from Lebanese cuisine to local seafood specialties and western dishes. It is also important to mention the famous fresh and delicious lemonade.
Batroun has also become vibrant at night, harboring a variety of nightclubs and pubs not to forget its cultural festivals and events celebrated in summer.
Chtaura: Famous for its Dairy Products and Labneh Sandwiches
Chtaura is a town in Lebanon in the fertile Beqaa valley located between the Mount Lebanon and the Anti-Lebanon mountain range. It is located halfway on the Beirut - Damascus highway. It is located 44 km from Beirut.
Chtaura is the valley's hub for banking, transportation, and commerce. Hotels, and restaurants are plentiful there for the traveler on the main road. From Chtaura, the traveler can depart for Zahlé, Baalbek, or Damascus.
A few kilometers south from Chtaura on the main road lies the village of Tannayal (Aramaic for the Grace of God). There is located an estate, now a farm, owned by the Jesuit fathers since 1860. Exotic fowl including peacock and doves can be found there. It is a working farm and also serves as a teaching facility for the Faculty of Agriculture at Saint Joseph University located in Beirut.
