Mechwar Saida, Sidon: The First Visit
Sidon or Saïda is the third-largest city in Lebanon. It is located in the South Governorate of Lebanon, on the Mediterranean coast, about 40 kilometres north of Tyre and 40 km south of the capital Beirut. In Genesis, Sidon is a son of Canaan, a grandson of Noah. Its name coincides with the modern Arabic word for fishery.
Visit Batroun
Batroun is a coastal city founded by the Phoenicians, located 50 km north of Beirut. The city is famous for its historical churches and sites some dating back to the 7th century.
Among the many archeological features of Batroun is St-Stephan’s Cathedral; It is considered to be among the biggest in Lebanon and overlooks the town harbor. In its old streets, a Phoenician fortress and a theatre excavated by the Romans from which only eleven steps remain.
Along the charming coast of the city lay many beaches and resorts, along with a bundle of restaurants serving a variety of food ranging from Lebanese cuisine to local seafood specialties and western dishes. It is also important to mention the famous fresh and delicious lemonade.
Batroun has also become vibrant at night, harboring a variety of nightclubs and pubs not to forget its cultural festivals and events celebrated in summer.
Jbeil, Byblos: Food, Tourism and Fun
Byblos, in Arabic Jubayl (Arabic: جبيل), is a Mediterranean city in the Mount Lebanon Governorate, Lebanon. It is believed to have been occupied first between 8800 and 7000 BC,and according to fragments attributed to the semi-legendary pre-Homeric Phoenician priest Sanchuniathon, it was built by Cronus as the first city in Phoenicia. It is one of the cities suggested as the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world and the site has been continuously inhabited since 5000 BC. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Libano Beirute lazer e turismo em uma das cidades mais bonitas do mundo
A equipe do Programa Estilo Radical foi ao Libano na cidade de Beirute, apos longos anos de guerra nossa equipe foi conferir como o povo Libanes vive , quais habitos e diferença apos 20 anos de guerra. Neste episodio gravamos em Beirute Capital do Líbano moderno com mais de 2.000.000 habitantes, sempre foi o centro cultural e comercial do país apesar de 15 anos de guerra civil. Situada exatamente no meio da costa mediterrânea do Líbano, Beirute é uma cidade de contrastes: Um belíssima arquitetura convive com prédios de concreto sem estilo, casas com jasmineiros em flor ao lado de prédios modernos. Um plano de reconstrução e de desenvolvimento da capital foi estabelecido nos anos 90 por causa da guerra civil que assolou a cidade. Os sítios e monumentos históricos tais como a praça de Mártires, o parlamento, assim como os souks, foram integrados dentro desse novo planejamento.
A área de Hamra, no nordeste da cidade, é onde estão localizados os bancos, hotéis, restaurantes, cafés e agência postal. Também é um lugar perfeito para passear e olhar as vitrines. Ao norte de Hamra, a Universidade Americana de Beirute tem um pequeno museu arqueológico. A coleção de estatuetas fenícias é particularmente interessante. O museu de Sursock, em Beirute oriental, localiza-se em uma esplêndida vila de estilo italiano do século XIX. Dentro dele há exposições de artigos em prata, arte contemporânea libanesa e uma pequena e interessante biblioteca.
Uma visita ao centro da cidade lhe dará uma idéia do que a cidade passou durante a guerra. Parte dela está sendo restaurada, outras estão sendo demolidas. No centro da cidade, a Place des Martyrs foi completamente destruída, restando apenas a Estátua dos Mártires e um outdoor enorme foi erguido para mostrar que planos a cidade tem para a área. A Mesquita Principal é um dos únicos edifícios históricos ainda de pé; construído na era bizantina como uma igreja dos cavaleiros Cruzados, foi convertida em mesquita em 1291.
As Pedras de Pombo são a característica natural mais famosa de Beirute. Estes arcos de pedra perto da praia são um complemento adorável para os rochedos dramáticos de Beirute; seus habitantes reúnem-se ali para assistir ao pôr-do-sol e desfrutar alguns momentos longe do ruído do tráfego. É uma delícia perambular pela Corniche, a estrada litoral de Beirute, respirando a brisa do mar e parar para tomar um café ou provar os produtos dos trailers.

The congress aims to expose undergraduate students in Lebanon and the Middle East to new technologies and to update students about the latest electrical engineering trends.
