Retire In Cabrera Dominican Republic - Retire In Caribbean - Cabrera Expat Favorite
Expats choose to retire in Cabrera Dominican Republic for a lot of different reasons. This is the first Cabrera video on our tour or North Coast towns that expats choose for retirement. We will try to show you just a few of the reasons that so many Americans, Canadians and Europeans end up in Cabrera after checking out many of the places to retire in the Caribbean.
Many consider the region right around Cabrera to be some of the most beautiful scenery in the Dominican Republic. Cabrera is flanked by the mountain ridges to the south and the jagged Atlantic coast to the North. To most people, Cabrera is a hidden gem that they have never heard of. Why? Because Cabrera is not the typical little tourist town like most people see when they come on vacation to the tropics. Techncally speaking, Cabrera is not a beach town at all because it sits perched on rocky ocean cliffs. But it is surrounded on both sides by some of the most beautiful and natural beaches in the Caribbean. We show you a few in the video and there are a few more secret spots you will have to find on your own.
On our frequent Discovery Tours we guide to see the parts of the North Coast that make sense for you and your family. We help you find that perfect vacation home or home to retire full time. We help you meet others that have come to live in the Caribbean before you. We help keep you focused and in some ways help keep you on track to your goals of living the good life away from the icy winters, away from shoveling snow, away from high heating bills, away from high property taxes and even away from unhealthy processed foods.
Check out our website for full details about our Discovery Tour.

Please SUBSCRIBE to our channel. At we are starting a new series of videos to take a look at what the various towns on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic offer to expats. In this video we introduce you to the overview of the North Coast region and in future segments we will share a little more about each of the towns along the North Coast of the Dominican Republic.
In this series we will visit Puerto Plata, Sosua, Cabarete, Rio San Juan, Cabrera, Nagua and Las Terrenas. Each of these towns and cities offer completely different lifestyles. There is something special in each town, and Americans, Canadians and Europeans can find one that they prefer with just a little research.
Our job is to help you shortcut your search for the perfect island home while helping you avoid those unpleasant surprises that you sometimes face when you travel to a new country. We will share our many years of experience and the years of experience of the many expats and business owners that we work with on the North Coast.
When it is time for you to start your research in earnest, we can even coordinate your visit on one of our Discovery Tours so that you can see and experience far more than you ever could on your own. Contact us on our Contact Form on the website.
Budget Friendly Dominican Republic For Ideal Caribbean Retirement
How can Americans, Canadians and Europeans stretch their retirement dollars to live like royalty on a fixed income. The team meets with Mr T of the Educated Traveler channel to explore what it costs to live the good life on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, even on US Social Security or Canadian CCP/OAS.
Like our DRescapes team, Mr T makes it his mission to tell his viewers the pros and the cons of moving to and living in the Dominican Republic. Like us, he prefers to live on the North Coast and says if he was rich he would probably live in Cabrera away from the throngs of tourists. Shhhh...don't let the secret out, but it actually can be less expensive to live well in Cabrera for even less than the cost of living in Sosua and Cabarete.
If you would like to check out the North Coast for yourself, join us on one of our DR Escapes Discovery Tours where we will help you see all the towns favored by expats and even help you meet other expats that made the move before you.

Retire In Cabrera Dominican Republic - Part 2 - Retire In Caribbean
This is the second in the tour of Cabrera Dominican Republic. Cabrera is one of the most popular towns for those Americans, Canadians and Europeans searching for a quiet, safe and peaceful home in the Caribbean. Unlike more touristy Caribbean towns, Cabrera offers all the benefits of island living without all the tourists.
Cabrera still has that little island village atmosphere where you are welcome and life is a little less stressful. One of the beauties of Cabrera is that you are still close enough to the party towns of Cabarete or Sosua to the west or Las Terrenas to the east. But, you don't have to live in the congestion or crowds.
Many say that Cabrera is one of the most beautiful areas of the Dominican Republic. The town is surrounded by 8 of the most beautiful, world-class beaches, and one many days you can have the beach almost to yourself. There are also a number of other very special natural attractions like Laguna DuDu and the Saltadero weterfall right in town.
And one more treat about Cabrera. There are plenty of options for great food. Delicious grass fed steaks and fresh-off-the-boat seafood are the norm in Cabrera.
If you have ever dreamed of owning a home in the Caribbean, or retiring to someplace warm and tropical, then you really need to check out Cabrera. It is still affordable and there are some great buys on homes and land right now.
Easiest way to check it out is to come on one of our frequent Discovery Tours. You will get a chance to meet and talk to other expats that have made the move before you. Find out what the like and what the dislike about living here. Check out the real estate bargains while you are here. You might be pleasantly surprised what you can afford.

Bahia De Las Aguilas The Best Beach in Dominican Republic PART 3
I’m taking you on a journey to my favourite and best beach in Dominican Republic
This video is a 3rd part of my trip from Poland to caribean under 1000 euro
In my previous video I took you from bayahibe to Saona ISLAND and my remaining budget is 600 euro
In this video you going to see how to enjoy living in the nature
I will show you how to unzip the door in the tent
how to play dominos
And how to eat breakfast at sea front
We are driving to the West part of the island and we have to drive trough the capital, driving inside the city is a nightmare and crossing it can take anything from 1 up to 2 hours.
Santo Domingo is a specific city, you can see all sort of things on the road. for example if your air conditioning stop working it is very easy to find on the road somebody who can always fix it for you.
If you tired and thirsty there are always many people on the side of the road which are selling cheap and tasty coconut water
We decided to stop for the night just outside Barahona in hotel el maquito, if you decide to stop for the night on a journey like mine This hotel is a perfect place for you
We are heading back on the road and we still have around 4 hours to go.
Soon we will cross Paradise village in Translation Paraiso
This road is only one to head to West and personally I think this roads have the best views in the world
Im really interested to see how is the living in paradise so I decide to stop by for minutes and visit small hotel at the sea front. I do like it a lot and on my youtube channel you can find a full video from this place.
The location and the views are just amazing, imagine you wake up in the morning and view from your bedroom is like this.
this area is so attractive that shortly we are having another stop by the river. This place is a great example of living here in the area. People after work coming here to jump in to a fresh and cold water to enjoy music and local beer.
This is low populated area and my tip for you is to make sure you have cash with you and you will fill your car in the Barahona area because closer you are to national park there is no atm and no shops available to buy anything.
Finally we have riches the national park area, it is evening time and it is too late to go to Bahia de las aguilas beach so tomorrow morning we will go early these boats are for hire and price is including a person which will take you there. Tonight is going to be my first domino game and apparently im good because im always winning.
This eco place offers all tents located just a few steps from the water front. i have to say that views are even better in the morning, the beach is so clean and water crystal clear. My dream is to have a house on a beach, with peace and quiet and living with a bond with nature. Some say the dreams are coming true. As you see most of the furniture here are made simple and from natural materials. Even a bar is eco friendly. there is few places here to sit down and relax and this is what im going to do now.
Green Bananas Mangu with onion, caribbean type salami, eggs and bread. I strongly believe this is one of the best places to sit down and eat your breakfast. im going to enjoy my breakfast and you enjoy the views from the drone.
This is my favourite beach and is ticking all the boxes for me, crystal clear water, far away from everywhere and if the turtles are here this is just a confirmation that we are 100% in the nature.
Today is also our lucky day and we meet people who decide to share some food with us
Our time in Bahia de las aquinas is almost over, let me know in the comment section below what is your opinion about this beautiful place.
This is the end of third part of vacations in caribbean. Im still left with 509 euro in my budged and in my next episode you are going to see were the rich people are living and poor do not have access to

Jarabacoa Dominican Republic Vacation 2016 - Best Place To Sit Out The Storm
Jarabacoa Dominican Republic is the ideal place to sit out a little tropical storm. The crew headed up in the mountains of the Dominican Republic to enjoy the cooler mountain temperatures and fast flowing rivers of the region. Unfortunately the rains blown in from offshore were just enough to muddy up the mountain off-road trails we love to explore so we were forced to just sit out the rains in the comfort of a terrific mountain resort.
Check out the river views just off our terrace in our room at the Jarabacoa lodge. Great food. Great room. Incredible views. Definitely a must for your bucket list next time you come to the DR. You may even want to tack on a few days to stay in Jarabacoa when you come over on one of our free Discovery Tours of the North Coast.

Crab Shack Near Cabrera Dominican Republic - Big Changes In 15 Years
Great smoked crab and sea food dinners at the site of a former river ferry. The team take a look at the the site of a former ferry across the Boca River. It is hard to believe that as little as 15 years ago a traveler along the north coast of the the Dominican Republic needed to pull his car (or horse drawn wagon) across the river on a small barge just to go from Cabrera to nearby Nagua. Today, of course, there is a bridge spanning the river and the old road is now a parking lot for my favorite Crab Shack restaurant. Scrumptious fresh caught crab smoked on wood planks with all the fixings and a beer for about $5 .... and that is about a pound and a half of smoked crab on the plate. Yum, yum, yum.
