Carinthia Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Carinthia in Austria.
Carinthia is Austria’s southernmost region and borders both Italy and Slovenia. It is located in the sunny heart of Europe with more than a thousand lakes plus spectacular alpine regions and numerous Celtic Roman excavation sites, mediaeval castles, monasteries and cathedrals. In the eastern part of Carinthia and more than a thousand metres above sea level is one of the region’s oldest historical villages, the mountain village of Diex. In the fifteenth century the Turks invaded the area with great savagery thus, as protection, local farmers built castellated churches in which they sought sanctuary. Friesach, Carinthia’s oldest city, has retained what must be the true ambience of the Middle Ages, with a fortified princely estate and churches and monasteries that are surrounded by sturdy walls and a moat. The Maria Saal Open Air Museum is situated in the heart of Carinthia. In this richly cultural and historic area various traditional farm buildings from all over Carinthia have been reconstructed. Klagenfurt is the administrative centre of Carinthia: a middle class garden city that does not contain the fine buildings of the aristocracy but has a good helping of southern flair and, due to the nearby Wörthersee, is a marvellous summer resort. The Grossglockner High Alps road travels through one of the greatest natural landscapes in the world, the Hohe Tauern National Park, a remarkable mountain world in which nature is at its most glorious.

Wachau in HD (Austria) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Wachau in Austria.
As with almost anywhere within the Wachau, the clocks of the dreamy town of Stein seem to run a little slower than in other parts of Austria. Its well preserved ensemble of old houses is not uncommon and the Wachau region enjoys a good reputation for its fine historic treasures and elegant buildings.Krems is like a fairytale town. The wrought iron signs on its buildings and its wonderful historic atmosphere are truly captivating. The former stronghold and subsequent rival of Vienna contains several beautiful lanes and imposing buildings that reflect the wealth of its former citizens. Amid the vast terraces of the Wachau vineyards is the village of Weissenkirchen in which several hospitable inns provide their customers with an ideal opportunity to sample the wines of this region. Winegrowing has a long tradition in this section of the Danube and the area between Krems and Melk is one of the oldest cultivated landscapes in Austria. The Wachau is a landscape full of warmth as well as being steeped in history and age old traditions.

Pisa is a Renaissance city in western Tuscany located at the mouth of the River Arno and where historic monuments acknowledge the glory of this former maritime power. A place of remarkable monuments that also contains the artistic treasures of various Italian cities. Both spiritual and worldly treasures are in total harmony. The Piazza Di Miracoli – The Square of Miracles – encircles the majestic Leaning Tower. Several historic places of interest and ancient buildings such as the impressive, Tour Hassan, are to be found in Rabat, the capital of Morocco. The entrance gates to this area are protected by proud Horse Guards in traditional uniform. Their sharp-pointed lances symbolize the historic military power of the former leaders of the Almohad Dynasty and the largest mosque in North Africa was built here. Today the vast marble floor and the bases of several pillars indicate the huge dimensions of the unfinished mosque. In the East Asian landscape of Myanmar, formerly Burma, is a proud and historic landmark. After a fascinating hour long boat trip on the country’s largest river, the Ayeyarwady, we arrive at Mingun. This friendly and hospitable village is well known by both foreign and native visitors. Typical bullock carts are perfect for a journey into this region’s past. Mezquita Cathedral is one of the most important historical monuments in Cordoba, a beautiful city in southern Spain and former residence of the Moorish Caliphs. This was once their centre of power and in 756 A.D. Abderramán The First founded the Omaijad Empire of Al Andalus. Lying to the south of the Caribbean island of Cuba, Trinidad was founded by the Spaniard, Velazquez, as a third settlement. In the eighteenth century, and as an intermediate stop prior to the conquest of Mexico, the city experienced wealth and recognition through the cultivation of sugar cane. The Venice of the Far East: this is the affectionate description given to the historic old Chinese town of Lijiang in the north west province of Yunnan. Dayan, Lijiang’s old town, contains an intriguing variety of canals and waterways.
