Places to see in ( Bovey Tracey - UK )
Bovey Tracey is a small town and civil parish in Devon, England, on the edge of Dartmoor, its proximity to which gives rise to the slogan used on the town's boundary signs, The Gateway to the Moor. It is often known locally as Bovey. It is about 10 miles south-west of Exeter and lies on the A382 road, about halfway between Newton Abbot and Moretonhampstead. The village is at the centre of the electoral ward of Bovey.
Bovey Tracey was an established Saxon community and takes its name from the River Bovey. The name first appears in Domesday Book as Bovi and possibly earlier as Buui. The town gained its second name from the de Tracey family who were lords of the manor after the Norman Conquest, and was first documented as Bovitracy in 1309.
The name of Cromwell lives on in the town today in both the public house The Cromwell Arms and the remains of a nearby stone arch, known locally (and incorrectly) as Cromwell's Arch. The arch is actually what is left of a priory that stood previously on the site of the nearby Baptist Church. Bovey railway station was opened on 26 June 1866 with the new Moretonhampstead and South Devon Railway on a site to the west of the town. It closed to passengers on 28 February 1959, but goods trains continued to operate until 6 July 1970. The town is twinned with Le Molay-Littry in Normandy.
Bovey Tracey lies in the valley of the River Bovey at the junction of the A382 road (between Newton Abbot and Moretonhampstead) and the B3387 road (Chudleigh Knighton to Haytor Vale). On the outskirts of the town are the House of Marbles, a visitor attraction on the site of the historic pottery; and the headquarters of the Dartmoor National Park Authority at Parke, a large house which is leased to the authority by the National Trust. Also nearby are a Devon Wildlife Trust nature reserve at Bovey Heath and the Haytor Granite Tramway, the route of which runs through the parish, west of the town.

Places to see in ( Bideford - UK )
Bideford is a historic port town on the estuary of the River Torridge in north Devon, south-west England. Bideford is the main town of the Torridge local government district. Bideford is served by the A39 Atlantic Highway and A386 roads.
A ferry operates between Bideford quay and Lundy Island, which lies about 22 miles (35 km) away in the Bristol Channel. The same ship, the MS Oldenburg, also provides evening cruises from Bideford along the River Torridge but in the downstream direction only as it is too big to pass under the Bideford Long Bridge.
The Bideford, Westward Ho! and Appledore Railway was an unusual and short-lived railway built entirely on this peninsula with no direct connection to the rest of the British railway network. The locomotives were fitted with skirts to protect pedestrians, as at one point the line ran along the quay at Bideford.
Lundy is the largest island in the Bristol Channel. It lies 12 miles (19 km) off the coast of Devon, England, in the district of Torridge, about a third of the distance across the channel from Devon, England to South Wales. Lundy gives its name to a British sea area and is one of the islands of England. Lundy has been designated by Natural England as national character area 159, one of England's natural regions. Lundy was granted to the Knights Templar by Henry II in 1160. The Templars were a major international maritime force at this time, with interests in North Devon, and almost certainly an important port at Bideford or on the River Taw in Barnstaple.
The town of Bideford has grown to cover land on both sides of the River Torridge; the area located east of the river is known as East-the-Water, also known as Shamwickshire to locals. Much of the land that has been built on in recent years is drained marshland.

Day 3 - Chudleigh's Apple Farm in Milton Ontario with Manchisi Team
in Milton Ontario.
We are Day 3 of Our 31 Days of summer! Today we are showcasing a pretty famous spot for the Milton and Halton Hills Area. We love Chudleigh's Apple Farm. Both Domenic and Jody Manchisi have been visiting Chudleigh's Apple Farm for many years. There used to be a Barn on the property where kids used to swing in a hay pile but unfortunately in 1990 a fire took the barn and we lost it. Chudleigh's has been rebuilding over the years. Chudleigh's started in the late 50's by selling apples in their front lawn.So they expanded by planting more trees and started making apple pies. Shirley has been at Chudleigh's for 36 through all its growth and changes. When Chudleigh's first started, they had 6 varieties of apples and now they have 28. Chudleigh's is great for families. It has both a retail area with a lunch counter, fresh pies and gift area and an entertainment area with tractor rides, nature trails, lots of farm animals, blossom shack and sand pit. Other attractions include summer Pony Rides, Fall Weekend Pony Rides (weather permitting), Weekend Barbecue Pit (September/October), Log Cabin for Birthday Parties and School tours, Birthday Party Tent, Private Party Tent, children's Play area and Waterfall Cafe, Apples will start mid August and go to the end of October. Becky Falls - Devon Holidays
Since it was first opened to the public in 1903 Becky Falls has been attracting and inspiring poets, writers, painters and visitors alike.
Its early history goes back to the inhabitants of the local Bronze and Iron Age settlements and medieval villages who came here in search of water, wood and shelter.

This place is magical and I have rarely slept as soundly as I did swaying in he trees in a sphere. So I made this video and personally write the background music and I give Free Spirit Spheres free reign on this work to use as they wish for marketing or other uses.
Apple Picking Toronto
Apple picking is always a popular fall activity in the GTA, with families looking for a fun way to spend time together outdoors. Some farms and orchards will include wagon rides, petting zoos, country shops with homemade jams and preserves and much more.
Whether you're looking to make apple pies for Thanksgiving, candy apples for Halloween or just to have fresh and healthy snacks on hand, there's plenty of places across the GTA to pick your own apples. Check out some apple picking tips.
Certain apple types may not be available due to demand and orchard hours can change without notice. Make sure to call ahead before making the trek out of town -- the last thing anyone needs is a half hour drive for nothing.
Some farms provide containers for carrying the fruit home, but it's not a bad idea to bring them yourself. Comfortable shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty are a must, and keep the weather in mind: pack a sweater for cooler days, and bring sunscreen.
Some of the most popular types of apples are McIntosh, Honey Crisp, Red Delicious, Empire, Idared, Crispin (or Mutsu), Golden Delicious, Spartan, Cortland and Northern Spy. Northern Spy is the most common type of apple used in baking. Check with the orchards to see what varieties they have available.
Every farm is a bit different. Some have more relaxed rules, others more strict. You need top find a farm that matches your needs - a grumpy farmer with strict rules would not make for a happy experience with young children. But you also need to teach your children that the plants are living things to be cared for and respected, not abused, and the farmer feeds his family and pays his bills from the well-being of these plants!
So grab the kids and take them apple picking. You're not only going to get apples, you'll get a beautiful day in the country. And about the apples... they will be crunchy and their flavours strong and tangy. You can't get any fresher than that!
You can find so many apple picking places in Toronto online if you decide to go. Apple picking in Toronto now is just the right time to go!
