Many places in Uruguay are named 'punta del' something and this is a continuation of that as Punta del Diablo is the devils tip, as the peninsula resembles that of the devils, or diablos, trident. Either way, the little coastal town of Punta del Diablo is adorable. Only one paved road that runs through the center of the tiny town, and a few shops and chic restaurants lining the beach. At night you can look out over Punta del Diablo and see the lights of Chuy, Uruguay, the border town with Brazil in the distance.
La Paloma, Travel Uruguay:
Like a lot of the towns in Uruguay, this is a small one on the coast with a very slow way of life. Every day in Uruguay feels like a Sunday and that is something I beginning to really like about this country. Things in Uruguay move slow, but get done. Travelling through Uruguay is easy and affordable and quick, because the country of Uruguay is so small.

URUGUAY ROAD TRIP

We started by renting a car in Montevideo and then driving North East literally following the coast line. We stopped in Cuidad de la costa, Piriapolis, Punta del este, la paloma, Punta del diablo and Chuy and then drove back.
It's only about a six-hour drive from one-side to the other. Obviously, that gave us lots of time for photos, videos, eating, drinking and swimming. It was a particularly enjoyable week.
Helena and I were the wonderful people gallivanting around Uruguay. While travelling Helena maintains a pretty incredible tumblr blog. Get over and check it out.
